Chapter 352: Chapter 352: Jacob Jennings Is Back

Logan watched as his two subordinates were knocked to the ground, just about to stand up when he suddenly got shot in the arm. He clutched his wounded arm in pain and glanced towards where the shot was fired.

"Jacob Jennings?" Logan couldn’t believe that the man who appeared in the corridor at this moment was actually Jacob Jennings!

With a gun in hand, Jacob quickly walked between May and Logan, pulling May up from the ground while sternly threatening Logan, "Second Young Master, I’ll try not to kill anyone, so you better take your people and get out!"

Jacob waved the gun in his hand at Logan’s head, threatening him.

A look of unwillingness flashed in Logan’s eyes, and he gritted his teeth and asked, "Weren’t you shot abroad by Victor Grant?"

Jacob gave a faint smile and retorted to Logan, "How well-informed is the Second Young Master? Even news from abroad is crystal clear?"

Logan glared at Jacob and snorted coldly, "Nonsense, there’s nothing in this world that I don’t know."

"You’re flattering yourself too much. Since you know everything, then tell me, how am I standing here perfectly fine in front of you?" Jacob sneered, pointing the dark muzzle at Logan’s head again, and for the last time threatened him, ’Master Logan, just because I don’t want to kill doesn’t mean I can’t. You better leave before I get physical!’

"Just you wait!" Logan, aware of Jacob’s capabilities, knew entanglement was futile, so he quickly spat out this harsh sentence and turned around to lead his two injured subordinates away.

After the trio left, May looked at Jacob in surprise, noticing that he didn’t look too well. Although he was disguising his strength well, the cold sweat on his forehead betrayed his weakened state.

"Your wound hasn’t healed yet, right?" May asked, seeing Jacob’s face pale as she quickly helped him to sit down on a nearby chair.

Jacob exhaled slightly and smiled at May, saying, "It’s nothing, the wound is somewhat torn, but it’s no big deal."

May helplessly glanced at him, then reached out to tug open his coat, revealing his chest covered in bleeding blood.

"Why did you rush back from abroad without properly recuperating?" May sighed helplessly, supporting him from the chair and walking slowly out: ’I’ll take you to the hospital first. Your wound must have torn during the flight.’

Jacob had been injured for only a few days, and with such urgency flying back from abroad, the wound surely got compressed and torn. It’s a wonder how he endured these dozen hours.

"I’m not a concern; the important thing is you and the Big Master’s life. Madam, can you come with me to a place first?" Jacob grabbed May’s hand, suddenly asking her with an air of mystery.

May looked at Jacob with confusion, staring at him without understanding, "Where do you want to take me?"

Seeing the suspicion in her eyes, Jacob solemnly asked her: ’Let me ask you, do you want to save the Big Master’s life?’

Did this need asking? Of course, she wanted to, May dreamed of it, but could Jacob have a better way to save Vincent?

"Do you have a plan?" May asked him in surprise.

"I do, but don’t ask now; I’ll take you to meet someone." Jacob said and then pulled May in front of his car, May hesitated a bit but believed him and got into his car.

Once she was in Jacob’s car, she suddenly recalled something—the car, this license plate—why did they look so familiar?

May opened the car window to look outside, confirming her suspicion, she quickly turned to Jacob with a serious face and questioned him: ’Jacob Jennings, where did you go last night?’

Seeing that May discovered the clue herself, Jacob honestly replied to her: "I went to Master Landry’s house last night, the same place you and Victor Grant went."

Upon hearing this, May’s eyes widened: "You, you really went there? So the person who collided with our car last night was you?"

Jacob nodded, honestly responding: ’Yes, when Victor Grant opened the car window to curse at me, I also saw you from the front passenger’s seat.’

"Since you knew I went there, why didn’t you stop us?" Thinking of the night’s poisonous insects, May said with some fear.

She wasn’t afraid of the insects; it was the fact that Victor accompanied her through dangers, and she shouldn’t have put him in harm’s way. Doing so was unfair to him.

Jacob looked at May with apologetic eyes and explained helplessly: "I had someone in my car, so I couldn’t show myself, and if Victor saw me at that time, I would be in deep trouble."

May looked naively at Jacob, her words carrying a little complaint: ’Then did you know about the poisonous insects in that courtyard?’

Jacob looked at May with confusion and asked her back: ’Poisonous insects? I had no idea. How could such a small courtyard have poisonous insects present?’

Seeing that Jacob didn’t seem to be lying, May told him everything she had seen: ’The first time, Victor went inside and said two people were dead. He didn’t let me go in to see and left. Halfway, worried the Jade Pendant might still be there, I made Victor go back, and when we returned, those two bodies had become skeletons, obviously rapidly devoured by something. When we left, what was once a quiet courtyard suddenly became infested with numerous poisonous insects, but their aggression wasn’t strong; Victor quickly drove them away using a torch.’

Hearing this, Jacob quickly explained to May: ’Madam, the two bodies Victor saw weren’t Mr. Landry and his apprentice, they were the people Logan had sent to kill them. I was there, so they didn’t succeed. However, to deceive Logan, we deliberately placed a fake Jade Pendant made by Mr. Landry at the scene. The real Jade Pendant is still with me; the one you have is actually fake.’

"Fake?" May puzzledly pulled out the fake Jade Pendant from her pocket and carefully examined it in her palm. If Jacob hadn’t told her, she really wouldn’t have noticed it was fake because the imitation was too realistic. Even knowing it was fake, May couldn’t tell where the flaw was.

"This Jade Pendant’s imitation is incredible; I can’t even tell." May exclaimed, holding the fake pendant, speaking to Jacob.

Jacob nodded with a smile and explained to May: "That’s why Master Landry is a genius, probably the only one who can create such lifelike imitations."

After speaking, he reached into his pocket and pulled out the genuine Jade Pendant, handing it to May and indicating for her to take a look: ’Look at this; this is the real Jade Pendant.’
