Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife!-Chapter 315: We’re Getting Married in France
"Mom, Dad, I’m only getting married once in my life, so I still hope you can help me with the wedding." Victor Grant took a deep breath, suddenly stood up from the sofa, and then knelt down before his parents.
This kneeling directly shocked Heather Holt and Justin Grant, leaving them speechless for a long time.
Everyone knew how stubborn Victor Grant was. He had never knelt before anyone. At the age of twenty, he dropped out of school, then wandered aimlessly in society until his father got so angry that he had him brought back and forced him to kneel and apologize. But Victor’s legs were almost crippled from being beaten, yet he stood firm and refused to kneel. Since then, Justin Grant finally understood how unyielding his son’s backbone was; he was likely the kind willing to die rather than kneel.
But now, for the sake of a woman, he was willing to kneel down and plead with them to allow this woman to become their daughter-in-law.
Looking at their son suddenly kneeling, Heather Holt’s nose tingled, and she couldn’t help but burst into tears: "Victor, what are you doing?"
Victor Grant looked up, fixing his gaze on his father’s face, and stubbornly said, "Dad, marriage is a big deal. I’m only doing this once in my life, so I want both of you to attend my wedding. Only then can May and I be complete. But if you insist on not accepting May as your daughter-in-law, I won’t force you. I’ve earned enough money all these years to live with May for the rest of our lives, but think it over. If things get to that point, I won’t come back, and I mean it."
"You..." Victor’s words were powerful and left no room for argument. Even Justin Grant found himself with no way out.
How could he not know his own son’s nature?
"Son, what’s so good about May anyway? Why must you marry her?" Heather Holt wiped her tears and persistently asked.
Victor recalled his time with May, and a faint smile swept across his firm lips: "Nothing special, just love, love so much that I want to make her mine."
Yes, sometimes love is just that simple. He couldn’t recall when he started loving May, but he knew that at this moment, he loved her more than ever, and no one could stop him.
"Think it over. After all, this is your matter. We can’t make the decision for you, but whatever happens in the future, we won’t be responsible."
After wrestling with each other for a full two minutes, Justin Grant finally sighed slightly, reluctantly agreeing.
Seeing his father agree, the rigidity on Victor’s face slightly softened: "Thank you, Dad, thank you, Mom!"
Heather Holt, caring for her son, quickly helped him up from the ground and lovingly touched his face: "Son, May is not human. How will you share a bed with her in the future?"
Victor’s eyes turned slightly, and he seized the moment to solidify his relationship with May: "Don’t worry, we’ve been together for a long time. Everything is normal with her, except that she can’t have children."
"But..." Heather Holt was still worried and wanted to say more, but Justin Grant interrupted her with a wave of his hand.
"Don’t say anymore. He’s grown up and has a sense of judgment. Since things are as you said, we’ll discuss the matters of pregnancy and childbirth later. For now, let’s get your wedding over with."
Although Justin Grant said this, he still felt a bit uneasy inside. Whenever he thought of May’s rapidly healing wound, his expression became noticeably awkward.
"The wedding should be held in the mainland as May requested. You pick the place, and I’ll have someone prepare the venue. The rest is up to you."
"Thank you, Dad, but you don’t need to trouble yourself with the planning this time. I want to have a wedding trip with May."
Now that things had come to this point, Victor no longer cared about the wedding; he just wanted to get their marriage certificate first. The wedding could wait, but the certificate had to be obtained in France.
Because divorce procedures in France are extremely complicated, if May ever wanted to go back on her word, it wouldn’t be easy.
Additionally, having the wedding in the mainland means being close to Vincent Vance, and he’s not that foolish.
"A wedding trip? That’s impossible. With our family business, a wedding trip would be a joke." The first to oppose was Heather Holt.
They had so much money that they couldn’t spend it all in several lifetimes; what they cared about was face. If they really agreed to Victor and May’s wedding, they wouldn’t care about the money.
"Then let’s postpone the wedding initially. May and I will go to France to get our certificate, and when that’s taken care of, we’ll come back to hold the wedding."
Victor took a step back and offered a compromise.
Heather Holt and Justin Grant exchanged a glance, then nodded: "Alright, let’s do that. I’ll start preparing your wedding now, and after you get your certificate, we can come back to finalize it."
This way, everyone wouldn’t be in such a hurry, and the wedding could be made even more luxurious.
Finally convincing his parents, Victor quickly left the villa and got into the car.
May Morgan was staring dazedly at the scenery outside. When she saw him get in, she slowly said, "You should’ve told your parents about us earlier, things wouldn’t have gotten this tense."
Victor turned his head to glance at her, his tone a bit displeased: "You did this on purpose, didn’t you?"
May’s heart felt uneasy as she clenched her hands slightly and quietly replied, "I just felt insecure. After all, this is a hidden danger, and they’d find out eventually."
"I’ve told you more than once, I would gradually tell them about this. You didn’t need to bring it up. Why didn’t you listen?"
Victor suddenly punched the steering wheel in frustration, startling May into silence.
Seeing May’s frightened face, Victor’s original anger subsided significantly.
"I’m sorry..."
Victor calmed down and apologized to May.
Seeing him like this, May felt a bit guilty and softly said, "I know I’ve caused you a lot of trouble, but this is how my body is. Your parents don’t agree to the marriage, and there’s nothing I can do."
"It’s fine now, my parents have agreed. Don’t worry."
Victor glanced at May with complex emotions in his eyes. He started the car, drove out of the Grant family estate, and intentionally said, "Following your request, the wedding will be held locally. Let’s go back and prepare, we’re flying to France this afternoon."
