Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife!-Chapter 289: You Must Give Me an Explanation
May Morgan didn’t speak to him and just lifelessly pressed the elevator button before walking in. Victor Grant continued to persuade her for a long time until they got into the car. Just as Victor was about to drive May Morgan back to Beldon City, she suddenly bent down and opened the storage compartment inside Victor’s car.
After opening the compartment, she rummaged through the bottom and pulled out a black handgun. Victor normally didn’t carry this gun in the car, but since the recent incident with Brianna White, he had kept the gun close to protect May Morgan.
May Morgan knew he had placed the gun in the storage compartment, so she was able to retrieve it quickly.
Startled, Victor Grant immediately turned off the engine and parked the car to the side: "May, what are you doing? Put the gun down, what if someone sees us?"
Ever since the last time Victor Grant had tricked her, May Morgan had taken the time to study various firearms, so now she was quite proficient with guns.
Ignoring Victor, May decisively loaded the gun and coldly aimed it at Victor’s head: "Drive, to Zenith Villa."
Victor Grant knew why she wanted to go to Zenith Villa. He couldn’t let her take the risk. If what Maxwell Vance said was true, then Vincent Vance no longer held any feelings for May. With May’s stubborn nature, bringing a gun to confront Vincent would be suicidal.
"I won’t drive you to confront Vincent. Get that idea out of your head," Victor sighed and advised May helplessly, "I understand you’re upset, and it’s hard to swallow, but don’t worry, I’ll avenge you. You don’t need to dirty your hands; I’ll make sure that bastard Vincent pays for what he did. When the time comes, you can do whatever you like to him, but not now. If you go, it’s suicide, and I won’t let you throw your life away."
May’s hand holding the gun trembled with agitation. She didn’t intend to make things difficult for Victor, but she had to confront Vincent to get answers. If he admitted to what he’d done, she wouldn’t let it slide.
"Fine, if you won’t take me, I’ll go myself!" May glared at Victor, turned to pull on the car door at her side, intending to get out. Seeing this, Victor quickly locked the car doors, preventing May from leaving.
May couldn’t swallow the injustice. If she didn’t confront Vincent today and learn the truth, she would never have peace, so she had to go, no matter what.
"I have to confront him today, Victor. You know my temper. Even if you take me to Beldon City, I’ll come back. I’ll even walk back if I have to, but if it comes to that, I hope you won’t regret it."
Victor was genuinely afraid of May. He’d never met such a stubborn woman, yet she was the one he couldn’t let go of.
"Fine, if you must ask him, I’ll go with you, but you can’t take the gun. If you want revenge, we’ll find another way. It can’t be today."
Reluctantly, Victor compromised, but for May’s safety, he had to set terms first.
May glanced at the gun in her hand, hesitated for a moment, but finally agreed to Victor’s terms and returned the gun to him.
"Alright, I promise you, no revenge on Vincent today. I’ll just go to get answers."
Seeing her finally compromise, Victor quickly took the loaded gun from her hand, disarmed it, and locked it away in the storage compartment.
He had truly underestimated this woman; who would’ve thought that from a newbie at Zenith Villa last time, she would now be able to expertly load a gun and engage the safety.
"I’ll take you there now. Ask all you need to. Don’t worry, if that bastard tries anything, I’ll take him down first!" Victor said as he drove May to Zenith Villa, while pulling out his phone to gather all his available men at their destination.
When they arrived at Zenith Villa, Vincent wasn’t there; he was at work, but Brianna White was present.
Brianna and Vincent had already set their wedding date, planned for the next few days. She was now, without a doubt, the lady of Zenith Villa, living and commanding the servants there with arrogance.
When Victor barged into Zenith Villa with his men, Brianna was trying on her wedding dress; her expression darkened as soon as she saw so many people barging in unexpectedly.
"Victor Grant, I haven’t confronted you about our last issue, and now you barge in causing more trouble. What exactly do you want?" Brianna White shouted at Victor Grant with visible annoyance.
Victor looked at her with disdain and asked, "Where’s Vincent? I’ve got business with him."
Brianna, feeling annoyed, lazily replied as she continued to see Victor off, "Vincent’s at the office, where you should be if you’re looking for him. Why come all the way to Zenith Villa?"
After speaking, Brianna haughtily instructed someone to help her upstairs with the wedding dress. But Victor wasn’t about to go to all the trouble of heading to the office to see Vincent, not to mention May was waiting outside the car, and he wouldn’t let her lose face.
"Cut the crap, call that bastard Vincent and tell him I’ve got something important. Make sure he gets back here quick!" Victor sat back on the living room sofa casually, telling Brianna.
Brianna looked at Victor with irritation and said sharply, "And if I refuse? What can you do to me?"
Hearing this, Victor immediately stood up from the sofa, grabbed Brianna’s arm roughly, and threatened, "Why don’t you try and see?"
Brianna gritted her teeth, glaring venomously at Victor, recalling the humiliations she’d suffered, mostly because of him, and her hatred for him only grew stronger.
Taking advantage of Victor’s momentary distraction, Brianna discreetly reached for the necklace pendant and planned to release the poisonous insect within to launch a fatal attack on him.
Just as she was about to press the red gemstone on the pendant, May suddenly pushed the door open and walked in.
Brianna’s face instantly betrayed a flash of panic, and she quickly retracted the hand that had been on the necklace.
She was confident she could take down Victor with one hit, but she wasn’t certain she could take down May as well. That woman had the Dragon Insect, the king of Spirit Insects, far beyond her little poisonous insect’s capabilities.
After May pushed the door open, seeing Victor grabbing Brianna and threatening her, she said to Victor, "Victor, we’re only here to look for Vincent, not to cause trouble with any other women."
