Chapter 166: Chapter 166: Finally Softened His Heart

"Young Master, how about I go downstairs and make another pot of lighter porridge and bring it up? But what if Young Mistress still refuses to eat?"

The servant deliberately looked at Vincent Vance’s expression and asked cautiously.

Vincent really didn’t know what to do with that girl anymore. What could he do? If worse came to worst, he’d have to bring her durian to entice her to eat. What else could he do?

"Alright, go ahead and start making it. Let me know when it’s done, and I’ll take it in."

Vincent sighed helplessly, instructed the servant, and then turned back to the study.

Once inside the study, he found himself annoyed by the lifelessness of the room. After pacing around a few times, he quickly opened the door again and went out.

He figured, knowing May Morgan’s temper, that even if he made 180 different kinds of porridge, she wouldn’t take a sip. That girl usually loved snacks, but recently, for the baby’s sake, she’d been avoiding them. Yet, he noticed how her mouth watered watching TV commercials featuring snacks; it was clear she really wanted some.

In that case, he decided to go to the supermarket to buy her some snacks to cheer her up.

Vincent quickly drove to a nearby supermarket, but after pushing a shopping cart around for a long time, he didn’t dare to buy anything. He wanted to buy snacks but was also worried about their impact on May Morgan’s pregnancy. After all that effort, he left the supermarket empty-handed.

All those snacks were junk food, the kind that makes you worry for a lifetime with just one bite. To be on the safe side, Vincent decided he couldn’t start her down that path.

He drove around the city for a while, eventually ordering a custom cake and a few pastries from Aroma Patisserie to bring back.

Aroma Patisserie was the most famous handmade pastry shop in the city. The ingredients for their pastries were all natural and organic, and they were crafted entirely by hand, making them very safe. Vincent knew that eating from there would be much safer.

After buying a bunch of pastries, Vincent drove back to Zenith Villa. The servant had already made porridge while he was out. Seeing that Vincent wasn’t around, they took the porridge to May Morgan’s bedroom to try their luck. As expected, though, May’s stubbornness meant that even if ten oxen tried to pull her, she wouldn’t budge; she said she wouldn’t eat, and she meant it.

Seeing the servant returning from the bedroom with the porridge once again, Vincent shook his head helplessly, took the bowl of porridge from the servant, and carried the pastries into the bedroom.

May Morgan was lying on her side on the bed, with her back to the door. When she heard the bedroom door open again, she yelled angrily, "I said I’m not hungry, why are you still coming in? It’s so annoying!"

Vincent didn’t respond and simply placed all the things on the bedside table. Then he picked up a red bean pastry, the one with the best aroma, and deliberately circled behind May Morgan.

The smell of the red bean pastry gradually dispersed. May Morgan caught a whiff and immediately widened her eyes; she was just about to turn around to see what was going on, but then thought better of it and quickly turned back.

Hmph, she wouldn’t be tricked that easily!

Seeing her remain unmoved, Vincent put down the red bean pastry, took out a durian pastry, and this time, even more directly, he walked a circle right over her head, deliberately letting the durian aroma linger in front of her before taking it away.

The scent of her favorite durian almost made May Morgan surrender on the spot, and her stomach immediately growled in disagreement.

You had to know, May Morgan loved durian more than anything. However, whenever they went to the supermarket, Vincent wouldn’t let her buy any because he disliked the smell and the lingering odor it left in her mouth, leaving her itching for durian every time she saw it.

Hearing May Morgan’s stomach grumbling away, Vincent couldn’t help but raise his eyebrows triumphantly. Silly girl, trying to compete with me?

"Hey, this durian pastry really does taste good, no wonder some people love eating it so much." Vincent remarked when he saw that May wasn’t budging and was stubbornly hugging a big pillow over her belly without saying a word. He took a bite of the durian pastry, smacking his lips as if thoroughly enjoying it, and commented deliberately.

May Morgan was so upset by him that her face turned almost green, but she was too embarrassed to turn around and snatch the durian pastry from him. After he said that, and even banged on the table, if she easily forgave him over a small piece of durian pastry, how could she set rules for him in the future?

No eating, absolutely no eating!

Vincent had never tasted durian before, finding the smell more than enough, but after a bite of the pastry, he found it surprisingly delicious.

Moreover, whatever magic was done to this durian pastry, it was not only fragrant and soft but also lacked the weird durian aftertaste.

In several quick bites, he finished a piece of durian pastry. With only one piece left in the bag, he glanced at May Morgan and said, "There’s still one more piece. Looks like someone won’t eat it, so I guess I’ll handle it." 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

After saying that, he really took the last piece of durian pastry from the box to his mouth, just about to eat it when May Morgan finally couldn’t hold back and turned around to snatch the pastry from his hand.

"Do you have no shame, fighting with me over food when you’ve already eaten!"

Damn, there really was only one piece left, if she didn’t snatch it now, there’d be none left.

Watching May Morgan’s delighted feast, Vincent couldn’t be happier. He was just teasing her, knowing she loved durians too much to finish them all.

Seeing her finish the large piece of durian pastry in a few bites, Vincent quickly handed her a napkin, "Wife, are you full? If not, I still have red bean pastries, matcha pastries, eat to your heart’s content!"

After speaking, Vincent fawningly placed the entire bag of pastries in front of May Morgan, gesturing for her to eat.

Looking at his sly face, May Morgan realized she’d fallen for his tricks again, and in frustration she pouted, "I only eat durian, I don’t want anything else!"

Vincent looked speechlessly at the pastries in the bag. As he disliked the durian smell, he had only bought two small pieces. Right now, he ate one piece, May Morgan ate one piece, what more was there?

"I might have bought too few. How about I send someone to buy more for you tomorrow?" Vincent asked her in a sincere negotiating tone.

May Morgan snorted, intentionally playing hard to get, "I don’t. I want durian, and only freshly cut ones."

She knew Vincent couldn’t stand the smell of durian, so she was deliberately giving him a hard time. Hmph, later she’ll make the whole bedroom smell like durian, and let’s see if he dares to come back to sleep!

To cheer May Morgan up, Vincent was willing to go all out this time. As long as this girl eats normally and doesn’t starve his child, he’s willing to do anything.

"Alright, I’ll get someone to go to the supermarket right now to buy durian for you, just wait!" Vincent abruptly stood up and genuinely went outside to call the servant to buy durian for May Morgan.
