Young Brother-in-law Is Now My Husband-Chapter 1553 Childish And Stubborn
1553 Childish And Stubborn
The morning after the grand wedding, Lu Mansion buzzed with activity. Its spacious drawing room, usually tranquil, teemed with guests from both the Lu and Wang families. Amidst this lively scene, Lu Zhilan sought a quiet moment with her parents, the esteemed elders of the Lu clan.
As Jiang Yuyan descended the staircase, she found herself immediately encircled by Weiwei's eager presence.
"Aunt Yuyu, I searched everywhere for you after yesterday's wedding. Where had you disappeared to?" The young boy's eyes met hers, brimming with curiosity.
"I returned quite late," Jiang Yuyan responded, bending down to tousle his hair affectionately. "You were already fast asleep by then."
"Why were you late?" Weiwei pressed with childlike innocence.
"She was delayed because your uncle was attending to her," Lu Bao remarked casually, descending the staircase with her daughter cradled in her arms and husband by her side.
Jiang Yuyan glared at her as everyone was present in the drawing room and could hear everything. Unfazed, Lu Bao continued, seemingly oblivious to the tension. "Did I say anything wrong, Yuyan?"
"Go and have your breakfast," Jiang Yuyan's tone warning her, which made Lu Bao shut her mouth. She looked at her daughter in her arms, "I cannot offend her more or your father will turn widow and you will be a motherless child." Weiwei pondered for a moment before continuing, "Since we're leaving tomorrow, will you play with me today?"
Before Jiang Yuyan could answer, a crisp voice cut in, "She is not a child to play with you. Do I need to tell you again and again to find someone of your age?" It was Lu Lijun, wearing a sly grin.
Weiwei shot a defiant glance at Lu Lijun. "I don't like you, Uncle Lijun."
With a hint of amusement, Lu Lijun retorted, "I don't need to like me. Your aunt likes me more than enough."
Weiwei looked at her, "Do you like him, Aunt Yuyu? He is a bad uncle."
"Uncle for you, not for her," Lu Lijun commented again. He looked at Lu Lijun, "Then?"
"Ask her, who I am to her," Lu Lijun remarked casually. The little guy looked at her, "Aunt Yuyu?"
Jiang Yuyan felt she was going to get a headache if these two continued their childish act. "Weiwei, I like you as well and I know you are a good boy, aren't you? So just ignore your uncle." Perking up, Weiwei beamed at Lu Lijun, declaring, "See, Uncle? Aunt Yuyu likes me!"
However, before Lu Lijun could utter another potentially provocative word, Jiang Yuyan cut in sharply, "Your father is looking for you."
Caught off guard but not willing to defy her, Lu Lijun shot Weiwei a stern look, "Do not attempt to flatter my woman with that pitiful act of yours. Maintain a distance or I will hang you upside down at the second floor balcony," he warned and left. Jiang Yuyan was stunned at this grown up man's childishness while Weiwei already had tears in his eyes, "A-Aunt Yuyu…." Jiang Yuyan immediately moved her attention back to Weiwei and wiped his tears, gently brushed away his tears. "Don't cry, Weiwei. Your uncle didn't mean it."
She hugged the little goy in a comforting embrace, his sobs intensified, exclaiming, "Aunt, Yuyu...You hugged me... Now uncle will hang me up."
Everyone's attention was grabbed by his loud crying. "What's wrong, Weiwei?" his mother rushed to his side, concern evident in her voice while Jiang Yuyan felt guilty, seeing him cry.
But before Jiang Yuyan could offer an explanation, Weiwei darted to his mother, his cries growing more frantic. "Uncle Lijun said he'd hang me from the balcony! Mommy, please save me!"
Others were surprised to hear what he was saying. They looked at Lu Lijun who didn't even bother to come check on the crying little guy and instead continued to sit on the sofa while checking his mobile leisurely. "Why would uncle do that? He won't," his grandmother, Lu Zhilan tried to coax him. "He will…Aunt Yuyu hugged me…now he will…" the little guy started to sob. They looked at Jiang Yuyan who didn't how to explain them properly. She glanced at Lu Lijun who was sitting on the sofa as if he was deaf and could not hear this commotion caused by his reckless words. She pulled out an awkward smile, "Aunt Zhilan, Lu Lijun was just teasing Weiwei. But little guy seemed to have taken it seriously."
"I was not teasing," Lu Lijun's voice resonated with unmistakable seriousness.
Hearing it, Weiwie's cry intensified. "Uncle… will hang me now…second floor…Balcony…" His sobs were getting worse while his mother tried to coax him. Jiang Yuyan felt like going to him and smacking his head. She gritted her teeth. This guy was adding to her difficulties while he himself was sitting leisurely. "Lijun," she managed to say, reigning in her anger, "Don't we have an important meeting to prepare for? Get yourself ready." f𝗿e𝗲𝘄𝗲bn𝐨𝚟𝚎l.com
Meeting her gaze momentarily, Lu Lijun replied dismissively, "There's still time," and focussed back on his mobile.
She clenched her fists. He was asking for a beating.
Seeing this, others could only smile and pity Jiang Yuyan for having to face this. Who didn't know what kind of stubborn person Lu Lijun was and now he was even crossing new heights by arguing with a child, as if that child would snatch away Jiang Yuyan.
Attempting to reassure Jiang Yuyan, Lu Zhilan offered a comforting smile, "Don't worry. Weiwei will be calm soon."
Jiang Yuyan didn't know what to say or she should apologize on Lu Lijun's behalf but that was not proper as well. They were not husband and wife yet for her to do so. Weiwei's parents whisked him away, offering a collective sigh of relief to the room's occupants.
With a pointed look at her husband, Lu Bao remarked, "It's fortunate we have a daughter instead of a son. Lijun wouldn't threaten her like he did Weiwei."
"As long as she doesn't cling to Yuyan. You better take care of your own child," Lu Lijun spoke. Exasperated, Lu Bao shook her head, "You're impossible. How will you handle your own children?"
With unwavering conviction, Lu Lijun replied, "They'll receive the same treatment—not allowed to their mother more than necessary."
All eyes shifted to Jiang Yuyan, who shot Lu Lijun a withering glare before announcing, "I'm heading to the office." And with that, she ascended the staircase.
"You've clearly upset her," Lu Bao remarked, a hint of amusement in her voice.
Lu Lijun pocketed his phone and stood up decisively. "I'll accompany her to the office," he declared, trailing behind Jiang Yuyan.
"He is so stubborn and clingy," Lu Bao commented, "May god bless our Yuyan."
Everyone simply laughed and resumed their talk.
Lu Zhilan asked, "When can we expect Lu Lijun and Yuyan's wedding?"
Elder Lu replied, "It depends on them. We are not going to meddle in it. It was already tough for them to be together."
"I didn't see Lu Feng," She asked.
Lu Han, who was sitting there, answered for his brother, "He didn't return home last night."
"Brother Feng must be worried we will pester him as well, so he chose not to be here," Lu Bao commented, letting out soft chuckle.
