You Think I Won't Talk?-Chapter 459
"..... Why can’t I see her?" — Theressa then asked.
"Because I don’t want you to." — Looking down at the pathetic girl, mocking her being with a disgusted sneer, Paul replied. Annoyed about having to tell this much. — "As inept as you are... letting you near Marianne would be idiotic."
".... at least let me know how she’s doing... I’m worried..."
"... You dare ask that?" — Paul suddenly fumed at Theressa’s request, offended by the meaning he gave it. — "There’s nowhere in this world... where Marianne would be better!!"
*Bang!*
"Paul!!"
"Never Again... NEVER DARE IMPLY SHE’S NOT WELL WHILE BESIDE ME!!"
"...!!"
"Your death will come faster if you do!"
After kicking the centre table next to her, hitting her as well, Paul threatened her with enraged red in his eyes. Going to grab Theressa’s face, dangerous in the sudden wrath, while fear strengthened in the girl.
"Leave my sight... And don’t think of trying anything stupid!"
Gulping down the humiliating terror the brother represented for herself, Theressa quickly ran away from the study, crying while keeping firm to the beliefs she held in this situation.
’This isn’t right! The past looks blurry to me, yet it does not matter! What is happening... I cannot let it be like I once did...!’ — Rushing through the floor she was on, she entered the first room she found to hide herself in. Gasping to the fear it instilled while taking a glance at her surroundings. Making sure nobody was around to see her. — "If I don’t do something... Marianne and I will end up dead... I have to find a way to get to her..."
Theressa, against the warnings, had decided. And keeping quiet as days passed, she managed to find out where Marianne was kept.
It was a two-floor forest house. The whereabouts were unknown to the girl who was keeping to herself so none of those inhabiting the place would suspect her intentions, yet her eye could see the green of the forest and hills that elevated further from the windows of the house. Craftily, she diligently learned how often the brother went to the kidnapped sister... many times hearing how struggle commenced unexpectedly inside while his screams heightened in the silence to suddenly calm... apparently often and chaotic while the sister she knew was experiencing difficulties, could not be heard in the least.
’What is he doing to her!!!? Why is he acting like this!! Sister cannot even talk to provoke him!!!’ — She would think terrified. Seeing how a maid would walk down the stairs laughing after taking things to Marianne and managing to listen to Paul’s mumblings after leaving her side since he at times fled, knowing that more of his violence would stain his hands with the blood of his Sister.
"why..... I’m sure she’s hiding something...tells she loves me.... her eyes don’t shine...."
"..."
"... Marianne.... Marianne..."
"..." — Always remaining hidden, Theressa would shrink in herself to restrain the trembles whenever she heard the gruesome mumbles or caught a glimpse of her disturbed brother’s behaviour. Keeping herself in the dark they would not pay attention to so his steps could be followed until one day, sure of the customs of her brother, a chance would show itself for her to slip into the floor and room Marianne was being kept in.
’... that maid called Rose already went upstairs with her meal... he probably ate with Marianne too...’ — She thought as she made sure he went in the direction his study was. — ’Should I try tonight...? Lately, he hasn’t made much noise when going to her... yet I need to at least make sure she’s alright...’
"... fuhh... Lords of Izeneya... please let me safely meet her..." — She prayed in a whisper, clenching the fear to shape it into courage and quickly make her way up the stairs with silent steps.
And she managed to get to her... feeling faint as the place resembled a prison, finding a mistreated Sister shrinking in herself, next to a bed where even in the dark of the night... Theressa could see a beaten Marianne, sitting quietly while her gaze appeared as if light would never reach it again.
Therefore, to the tragedy of the sight, she came closer to the sister so her wishes to help could be told... solely to end up leaving in hast and pain... in the deepest grief her chest had ever experienced and built a void for... Disheartened at the lost kindness she knew was deserved...
"mph...!..hm...sniff!...hic...!" — Covering her mouth desperately to muffle her own sobs, Theressa’s heart, felt deathly sorrow at the sights this story had led her Sister to become... crafting hatred for the past she was aware was true yet could not grasp clearly... and towards herself... who although had no remembrance of a poison being given... she now doubted her own being who could not declare otherwise as she acknowledged the abuse she had inflicted.
Nonetheless as told to the sister, her help would be given as much she could manage... Going back to her room, collecting what she could so at least Marianne would accept some of the ointments she would steal... always looking for ways to escape during days that were lengthening without finding a way.
’Rose seems to be turning a blind eye about the ointments for now but the men are keeping an eye on me more often’ — She could notice... yet worried further as no word had been heard from the sister, and only reluctance to her presence was shown whenever giving what she could. — ’She hates me with good reason... yet I need her to keep strong while I find a way... I am sure Father will come... yet we cannot wait for that or it might be too late-’
*BANG!*
’... no... he’s hitting her again!!’
Hearing another night’s struggle, the noises started to become more terrifying as they lasted longer... and Pain invaded Theressa, aware that Marianne was enduring his crazed violence once again... so then, stillness could inundate the stance...
Her hand started to slap the other that had muffled her sound, desperate for it to shut as the fights had now become a torture for the girl to listen... and then as she heard how above her, chains and thuds started once more, growing more chaotic as well as the gruesome yells... Theressa bit her lip as she desperately called for the help her Sister needed... in helpless quiet.
