Wrong Love, Final Goodbye: She'll Never Look Back-Chapter 343: He Agreed to Everything She Said
"Leah! What are you looking at?" Leah Thorne, who was serving dishes, was scolded by the supervisor.
"Nothing." Leah snapped back, "Sorry, Ms. Crawford, I’ll deliver the meal now."
Ms. Crawford blocked her, the eyes behind the black-rimmed glasses stared at her unfriendly.
"Leah, let me remind you, the guests who come here to eat, although they’re in the same space as you, it doesn’t mean they’re people from the same world as you. Stop having unrealistic dreams."
"..." Leah pressed her lips together and looked down in silence.
Ms. Crawford snorted coldly and walked away.
Leah finished delivering the meal and stood aside, a fellow waiter comforted her: "That Ms. Crawford is just going through menopause, and she doesn’t like to see young, pretty girls. Especially someone like you, who’s well-educated and just here to earn some living expenses as a temporary worker. Don’t take it to heart."
Leah smiled: "I don’t mind."
The manager then walked over briskly: "There’s a small issue with the front desk computer, who knows how to operate a computer, go help out."
Leah raised her hand: "Manager, I minored in computer science in college and have repaired computers for classmates."
Manager: "Go give it a try."
Leah approached the computer, found it was just a minor issue with memory overload. As she handled it, she took a look upstairs at the private room orders when no one was paying attention.
One of the orders for the room named "Brooks" was from Mr. Hawthorne.
Leah secretly took note of it...
On the other side, Declan Pierce drove Tanya Sinclair to a large supermarket, to buy groceries first, then go home to cook.
Declan pushed the shopping cart behind, while Tanya picked her favorite items in front, quickly filling the basket with snacks, followed by vegetables and meat.
People came and went around them, and they looked just like an ordinary and loving little couple.
Only, Declan’s appearance was too eye-catching, occasionally drawing side glances.
Tanya had just picked up a box of yogurt, turned around and saw Declan with the small cart stopped by two young women, who holding their phones, seemed to muster up the courage to ask for his contact information.
Declan pointed in the direction of Tanya, and the girls turned to see Tanya. One blushed and nodded apologetically, before quickly pulling her friend away.
Declan walked over with the small cart and naturally took the yogurt from Tanya’s hands, placing it in the cart.
Tanya leaned in front of him, blinked: "Aren’t you going to explain?"
Declan smirked a bit: "Explain what?" 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
"That girl who just flirted with you! Didn’t she ask for your contact information?"
"Yes." Declan answered candidly.
Tanya asked: "And what did you say?"
Declan glanced at her, smiling: "I said, my wife has a big temper, if she knows, she’ll beat me up when we get home."
Tanya: "?"
She looked at Declan’s smiling eyes and couldn’t resist raising her hand to lightly punch him.
Tanya: "Others might think I’m a jealous shrew!"
Declan held her hand, meaningful: "So, that’s all you’re denying?"
"..." Tanya was slightly stunned, taking a moment to realize his "my wife" comment, then her face turned red.
Tanya: "How come I didn’t notice before, you’re so shameless?"
"There’s a lot you don’t know." Declan grasped her slightly chilly hand, placing it into his coat pocket, holding her with one hand while pushing the cart with the other, walking slowly.
Tanya nestled beside him, surrounded by people coming and going, in such a supermarket, all loneliness and pain seemed to be washed away.
Tanya saw an elderly couple with gray hair, the wife picking vegetables, the husband opening a bag, obediently waiting for her to put the selected items inside.
The scene almost brought Tanya to tears.
"Declan." She nudged his shoulder,
"Hmm?"
Tanya: "Can we come out to buy groceries often in the future?"
"Sure."
"You’ll cook a lot of meals for me."
"Of course."
He agreed to everything she said.
But Tanya didn’t dare to ask something else, what if you can’t do it all?
She didn’t dare to think about what if it couldn’t happen.
Declan went to queue up to pay, while Tanya received a call from Aunt Tawny, she stepped outside to take it. Aunt Tawny was asking about a winter coat for Caden, whether she’d stored it away.
Tanya thought for a moment, told Aunt Tawny the exact location in the wardrobe.
After hanging up, Tanya was about to walk over to Declan when her phone rang again.
Only this time, the caller wasn’t Aunt Tawny, but Zeke Pierce...
