Chapter 33: Chapter 33, He’s Already in A Different League

Morning sunlight spilled through the dormitory window as Lin Yi sat quietly on the edge of his bed, his mind still replaying the events of the previous day. Dust Crows—hundreds of them—were creatures so weak that most hunters ignored them completely. Yet, those tiny monsters had produced something terrifying: three hundred and fifty thousand experience points.

Lin Yi slowly raised his hand and muttered, "System." The familiar translucent panel appeared before his eyes, and he immediately focused on the most important section.

Host: Lin Yi

Class: Laborer

Rank: E

Level: 22

EXP: 66,000 / 75,000

Lin Yi stared at the number for several seconds. "...Level twenty-two."

Even he couldn’t help but feel slightly stunned. Just yesterday, he had been level seventeen; that was five levels in a single hunting session. If anyone inside Jianghe Hunter Academy saw this panel, they would think his player panel had malfunctioned.

Lin Yi leaned back slightly and exhaled, feeling the obvious increase in strength. His body felt stronger, and even the smallest movements carried far more power than before. His gaze then shifted downward toward the attribute section.

[Attributes]

Strength: 92

Agility: 62

Constitution: 65

Spirit: 31

Free Attribute Points: 10

Seeing these numbers, Lin Yi could feel the difference in his muscles already. His grip tightened slightly; even without using Titan Grip, his raw physical strength had already reached a frightening level.

He slowly opened his palm, repeating the number. "Level twenty-two..."

Inside Jianghe Hunter Academy, that level was almost unheard of among first-year students. Most academy freshmen stayed between level three and level five, while even talented individuals like Su Qinghan and Tang Yue were probably somewhere around level seven or nine. As for Chen Feng, the S-Rank genius might have reached level eighteen or nineteen, but even that would still be lower than Lin Yi.

Lin Yi chuckled softly. "Looks like the system really doesn’t believe in fairness."

His gaze then drifted toward the equipment section of the panel.

[Equipment]

Abyssfang Blade

Quality: Legendary

Attack Power: +195

Lin Yi glanced at the dark blade resting against the wall beside his bed. The weapon gleamed faintly in the sunlight—a legendary weapon. Even some experienced hunters in Jianghe City did not possess gear of this level, yet Lin Yi had obtained it from killing a simple wilderness monster.

His thoughts moved to the broader world, where equipment rankings in this era of global class transfer was clear.

From weakest to strongest, they were:

Common.

Uncommon.

Rare.

Epic.

Legendary.

Mythical.

Cataclysmic.

Abyssal.

And the gap between each rank was enormous. Common weapons barely reached 10 to 20 attack power, while Uncommon weapons ranged around 25 to 40. Rare weapons climbed to roughly 50, and Epic gear finally crossed into the 90 to 120 range.

But once a weapon reached legendary rank, the numbers skyrocketed. Legendary weapons normally possessed 180 to 220 attack power, which meant Lin Yi’s Abyssfang Blade sat almost perfectly in the middle of that tier. It was a balanced but extremely deadly weapon. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

Lin Yi stretched slightly before closing the system panel. Three days—that was all the time left before the elimination round began. The academy tournament would soon enter its most intense stage, and Lin Yi believed he was ready.

A faint smile appeared on his face. Just then, the dormitory door suddenly burst open. "BROTHER LIN!" Wang Hao rushed inside like a storm.

Lin Yi looked at him calmly and remarked, "...You’re loud."

Wang Hao didn’t care and held up his phone excitedly. "Look!"

Lin Yi raised an eyebrow and asked, "What?"

Wang Hao shoved the screen toward him.

The academy forum was open, with hundreds of posts appearing every minute. The topic at the top was obvious: Jianghe Academy Elimination Round Predictions.

Wang Hao scrolled through the rankings. "Look at this!"

Lin Yi glanced at the list. The first place prediction was Chen Feng, followed by Tang Yue in second and Su Qinghan in third. Below them were several other talented students. But Lin Yi’s name appeared much further down, ranked somewhere near thirtieth place.

Wang Hao looked offended. "Thirty?! That’s ridiculous!"

Lin Yi simply shrugged. "It’s not wrong."

Wang Hao stared at him. "Brother Lin, you defeated Zhang Wei easily! And that guy is level six!"

Lin Yi smiled faintly. "Let them think whatever they want."

Wang Hao scratched his head. "...You’re strangely calm about this."

Lin Yi stood up and picked up the Abyssfang Blade, which slid smoothly into its sheath. "Predictions don’t matter."

Wang Hao blinked. "...What does matter?"

Lin Yi opened the dormitory door, then looked back slightly. "Winning."

Wang Hao froze for a moment, then he suddenly laughed loudly. "That’s the spirit!"

The two of them walked out of the dormitory building together. The academy grounds were already busy with students training, some sparring, and others discussing strategies for the elimination round. But Lin Yi barely paid attention to any of it because he already knew something they didn’t. While everyone else was preparing carefully, he had already stepped into a completely different league. And once the tournament resumed, the entire academy would finally realize it.
