Chapter 351: Heavenly Tribulation Lightning Flash!

The ancient prince, who was as hideous as a ferocious ghost, threw back his head and roared, "Give it to me! Give it to me!"

The modern vampire princess stared at her palm, which a stroke of sword radiance had torn open. She instinctively retreated half a step.

Following their plan, she and two vampire dukes had joined their ancestor to ambush the cultivators of the Hua Republic. If the odds were stacked against them, she would sacrifice one of the dukes to the ancient prince, granting him power that surpassed all limits. However, their sacrifice had been destroyed.

Glaring terrifyingly at the beautiful princess, the ancient prince growled, "Sacrifice yourself to me!"

"N-no!"

Her fleshly wings trembled violently as she shot skyward, but the ancient prince lunged after her so fast that it seemed as though he teleported. He reached her in an instant, claws brutally sinking and tearing through her wings from above.

On the sea below, Wang Sheng's brow twitched. Even he had not expected the ancient prince to be ruthless enough to unhesitatingly kill a princess of this age.

A hair-raising scream rang out in the air. Wang Sheng snorted coldly as he steeled his resolve. The ancient prince had to die.

Having devoured the princess's power, the vampire now bore an even more striking resemblance to a monster. Blood-red spikes jutted out of him, his body expanded by a third, and his hands brimmed with overwhelming force. He roared in satisfaction and then plunged with terrifying momentum.

The other duke who had come with him froze for two seconds, turned around, and fled north. Vampires slaughtering their own was an absolute taboo that the clan's strictest laws forbade. Nevertheless, he had just watched in horror as an ancient prince devoured one of their revered princesses!

All the duke could do now was escape. Though he had once ruled his own territory, he could only think of his survival now.

On the yacht, Huai Jing had already withdrawn his Buddhist light. Worried about Wang Sheng's safety, the trio then soared into the sky and watched the battle. It didn't even cross their minds that if he were killed, none of them would survive either. Had Wang Sheng known this, he would surely have felt grateful.

The monstrous vampire dove with crushing force. He had fought Wang Sheng evenly before. With this transformation, he had definitely become stronger than him!

The ancient prince's speed, strength, and resilience had all grown beyond measure, becoming an even more troublesome opponent.

Wang Sheng closed his eyes and then snapped them open again. Lightning coursed across his pupils, and tiny bolts wrapped around him. He then unleashed his Heavenly Tribulation Sword Intent, filling the sea around him with lightning. His robe and long hair billowed in the storm.

Back when he had been trapped in the Earth Qi Seal, Wang Sheng had considered a problem: the Seven-Star Footwork was unmatched on the ground, but it was severely limited in aerial combat. Eventually, he came up with two solutions.

The first one was using a qi sword to mirror the Seven-Star Footwork, channeling its momentum to fuse his Sword-Controlling Art with his sword techniques. He had already tested this solution.

Now, he opted for the second, making cyan mist swirl around him. Dozens of lightning bolts rose and crashed down on the charging ancient prince.

Swish!

Wang Sheng vanished in a flash, breaking free from the qi that his opponent had locked onto him.

Having lost sight of his target, the monstrous vampire flapped his powerful wings violently as he shrugged off several lightning strikes. He quickly realized that they were no real threat. Still, his eyes quickly filled with disbelief.

Within one of the bolts, he saw the Hua Republic cultivator. Wrapped in cyan mist and wreathed in lightning, Wang Sheng darted through the bolts themselves.

Immortal Art Escape Technique: Lightning Flash!

A celestial dress and two soul-nurturing techniques weren't all that Yaoyun had given him in the thirteen years they were in the Earth Qi Seal.

The ancient prince fixed his gaze on Wang Sheng. With no time to parry the thrust, all he could do was desperately twist aside.

Sword radiance flared as Spiritless's blade rippled like autumn water. It swept across his neck with almost no resistance, its edge sinking into his black flesh. Pure Yang Enchanted Power then erupted, blasting away half his neck.

His head hung grotesquely to the side. Nevertheless, he clawed left and right at Wang Sheng. His grievous wound didn't even slow him down a little.

Lightning flared again as Wang Sheng pushed his Heavenly Tribulation Sword Intent to its limit. Shrouded in cyan clouds, he traversed the storm freely. A bolt of lightning was all that could be seen before he appeared at the end of it. He shuddered while still coursing through the storm, unleashing several arcs of lightning.

Roaring, the ancient prince spread his wings and formed a blood-red barrier, attempting to keep Wang Sheng and the lightning outside its protection. However, he had miscalculated. Though Pure Yang Enchanted Power restrained all defilement, nothing in the world could scour corruption more thoroughly than heavenly tribulation.

The bolts easily tore through the blood light as Wang Sheng accelerated enough to make it seem as though the storm had spawned countless afterimages. He then swung his sword in an arc, making it look like a rainbow across the heavens. It suppressed even the stars themselves.

The lightning pounded the ancient prince. Wrapped in lightning, Wang Sheng left layer upon layer of afterimages before slipping aside in a flash.

Though the ancient prince's attacks were quick, he couldn't even graze Wang Sheng's sleeve!

More bolts crashed down before he could recover from his worsening wounds. Finding no chance to counterattack, the vampire could only roar in helpless fury as he began to collapse. No matter how hard his blood light attempted to heal him, it could not keep up with Spiritless.

Still wrapped in cyan clouds and freely weaving among the lightning, Wang Sheng used his enchanted power to recreate a heavenly tribulation and guide each strike. Though the technique seemed simple, he had spent years of painstaking effort studying and calculating it. Now, his perseverance had finally borne fruit, allowing him to master this escape technique. It consumed immense power, but it also produced extraordinary results.

Thunder rumbled ceaselessly over the sea as lightning bolts split the sky again and again, striking around the misshapen prince. Though it was not a lightning technique, its power surpassed genuine lightning techniques.

On the yacht, Dale couldn't help but be shocked. She had always known Wang Sheng was strong, yet she still couldn't believe that she was watching him prepare to dismember the ancient prince. Meanwhile, Huai Jing and the others, who had a clear view of the battle from above her, could not help but sigh in admiration.

Shi Qianzhang whispered, "Brother Sheng always seems to be cheating the heavens."

"Heavenly tribulation and Sword-Controlling Art," Liu Yunzhi added with emotion, "Fei Yu can stand proudly on Earth with just those two alone, yet his true trump card has always been the sword in his hand."

"Amitabha. As a barely educated poor monk, all I can say is... damn." Huai Jing rubbed his bald head. He then seemingly made a realization. "Brother Sheng deliberately held himself back from taking the first place on the Heavenly Rankings, didn't he? Considering how strong he truly is, not even the Celestial Master might be able to defeat him."

Shi Qianzhang shook his head. "There is no way he could. I know it's not proper for me to say this since I'm a disciple of the Longhu Mountains, but I truly believe even our forefather master can't beat Brother Sheng."

"Debating over rankings is meaningless. "Liu Yunzhi sighed. "One of the dukes managed to escape, and we completely forgot to give chase."

"Even if we did, would we even have been able to win?" Huai Jing countered.

Liu Yunzhi was rendered speechless.

Shi Qianzhang shrugged. "The point is, we would never have caught him. Vampires are way too fast."

Huai Jing looked at the storm in the sky, finding the ancient prince already reduced to a pulsing mass of flesh. He couldn't help but voice how he felt.

"While we're still worrying about whether we can even handle a minor boss, Fei Yu is already clearing the final boss on hell difficulty."

Just as he finished speaking, the mass of flesh unleashed a surge of power. Blood light burst outward, and from within it charged a smaller vampire who looked like an ordinary man.

Despite having just finished an attack, Wang Sheng immediately turned and summoned lightning.

The smaller vampire spread his wings, and blood light flared across them as he shot eastward. He flew so quickly that he caused three consecutive sonic booms.

"This is bad! The ancient prince is trying to escape!" Huai Jing shouted. Unfortunately, there was nothing he could do.

Wang Sheng blazed with lightning. Bolts split the sky in front of him, and he slipped and wove through them, chasing after the fleeing foe at a speed that far surpassed the maximum that Nascent Soul Realm cultivators could reach with flight techniques. He was even faster than the desperate ancient prince.

Flying Haze, which he had positioned to intercept and kill the prince, now trailed behind Wang Sheng, unable to keep up.

The might and speed of the Sword-Controlling Art were directly tied to Wang Sheng's cultivation and strength. Hence, he was able to accelerate far beyond the limits of his cultivation realm. Moreover, merging Lightning Flash, the escape technique that Yaoyun had taught him, with the Heavenly Tribulation Sword Intent gave him a way to soar through the skies.

I'll call this the Heavenly Tribulation Lightning Flash.

Wang Sheng's Nascent Soul was now enveloped in lightning. It spread its arms wide, channeling streams of enchanted power into every part of his Dao Body.

As long as he didn't run out of strength, he would be able to catch the fleeing vampire. Considering they had already gone this far in their battle, he found no reason to let such a powerful member of the Dark Faction escape.
