WorldCrafter - Building My Underground Kingdom-Chapter 139: Phoenix
But now, scorched and battered, his back against the stone, he realized there was no way out. Not anymore.
The Magus didn't give him time to think.
"Tick tock," he said, lightning flickering between his fingers like playful fireflies. "If you're not going to fight, I'll make this quick."
Inferno roared in defiance. If this was the end, he wasn't going down like this.
Flames erupted around his body. His claws sparked against stone as he launched forward with blistering speed, his horns coated in a mantle of plasma.
CLASH!
The Magus caught the strike with a grin, lightning sparked along his arms. Their powers exploded on contact—fire and lightning tearing through the air in thunderous bursts.
BOOM!
CRACK!
Stalagmites shattered. Stone melted. Inferno swung wildly, claws scorching arcs through the air.
The Magus weaved between them, dodging it all with ease.
"Good," the Magus laughed. "You've got teeth after all."
Inferno roared and leapt back. He rejected to be defeated just like this.
His body flickered, fire beginning to change. His molten chest cracked open as something as he start igniting his relic, burning his own essence.
The Magus narrowed his eyes. "What are you doing now?"

Inferno didn't answer. The relic buried in his core flared. His body convulsed, engulfed in an inferno so hot it turned red, then white, then—Blue.
The flames roared skyward as it engulfed his body.
A cry echoed through the cavern—not of a beast, but something older, something mythical.
FWOOOSH!
A blue phoenix burst from the heart of the blaze, wings of shimmering fire unfolding across the cave.
Feathers of plasma burned so hot they warped the very air. The phoenix's eyes, burning with pain and pride, locked onto the Magus.
The Magus blinked once, then smiled wide. "…Now this is what I've been waiting for."
The phoenix screamed—a sound like a sun tearing itself open—and launched forward in a blur of blue flame.
SWOSH!
The shockwave of its takeoff alone shattered stone across the cavern. Trails of burning air followed in its wake, each feather shedding plasma that clung to the ground like napalm.
The Magus raised a hand, conjuring a dome of interwoven lightning just in time—BOOM!
The phoenix struck, flames engulfing the barrier, melting its edges. The air hissed as the lightning flickered wildly, barely holding shape. Sparks rained down.
The Magus dug in, skidding across the ground, eyes wide—not in fear, but exhilaration."These relic is really beautiful," he murmured.
The phoenix circled overhead, wings spreading wide. Then it dove, talons first, fire coalescing into a spear of pure heat.
CRACK!
The Magus didn't dodge. He moved into the strike.
Lightning exploded from his body as he punched upward, catching the flaming talon with a charged fist.
The air buckled. Flame and lightning writhed together in a vortex of elemental storm.
Both were flung backward. The phoenix crashed into a wall of stone, blasting it apart on impact.
The Magus hit the floor, skidding across molten rock, but rose without hesitation—his cloak smoking, his arm scorched but already healing.
He laughed, low and thrilled. "I'll admit it," he said, brushing ash from his shoulder. "This is almost enough to make me try."
The phoenix rose once more, fire wreathing its body—brighter, tighter. Its flame no longer wild, but focused. Controlled.
It began to beat its wings slowly, conjuring vortexes of searing wind. A ring of blue fire formed around it, spinning faster with each pulse.
BAM!
Blue fire exploded outward, consuming the corpse of the phoenix in a blinding flash.
The Magus's eyes widened, just for a moment.
The phoenix cryed. Its body reformed in an instant—feathers igniting one by one, crawling back over charred ash. The flames around it condensed, brighter than before.
The blue fire turned white. "So that's your ability nirvana fiere," the Magus murmured.
The phoenix didn't answer.
With a single beat of its wings, it shot forward like a meteor. The ground ruptured behind it, scorched clean. The Magus raised his arm—too slow.
CRACK!
A talon tore through his side, sending him flying. Lightning lashed out wildly in response, but the phoenix twisted midair, dodging with a blur.
The Magus crashed against a wall, smoke rising from the wound that cut through his ribs.
He stood, face expressionless—but his mana surged like a storm. "So be it."
BZZZZZT!
Lightning crackle down his arms, weaving into a spear of pure energy. He hurled it.
The phoenix dove. It exploded behind it, turning half the battlefield into a crater—but it kept coming.
Claw met magic. Fire met thunder. The Magus and the phoenix blurred together in a storm of destruction, each strike echoing like a war drum.
SLASH—BOOM—CRACK!
Every time the Magus landed a blow, the phoenix shattered—yet returned, flames curling back into shape with supernatural speed. Feathers that burned to ash reformed mid-flight. Wings torn away in explosions regrew seconds later.
The Magus struck the chest, burning a hole through the creature. The phoenix roared—and pulled itself together.
The Magus muttered, eyes narrowing. "Seven more cycle."
He raised both hands. Dozens of magic circles spun around him—spells layered atop spells. The cavern darkened as the energy gathered. "Let's see how strong you can become."
The Nirvana flame is something that the magus have faced before. Everytime it's extinguished it will flicker to alive again becoming even stronger.
It's rumored the limit were nine times, bust most that he know with this abilty only goes 3 times, even the best only succeed for 7 times.
A torrent of lightning fell from the heavens—each one layered with suppression enchantments, soul-splitting edges, mana disruptors.
They rained down like judgment.
The phoenix screamed again—and rose to meet them.
Its wings folded inward, then snapped outward in a shockwave of white fire. The spells burned against it, peeling through layers of rebirth.
Feathers exploded. Bone splintered. But it rose again.
The Magus cloak burned away at the edges, armor cracked. The phoenix dove once again time claws wreathed in Nirvana flame.
