Chapter 74: Family Fun Time

The morning air was fresh and invigorating, and the sun hung bright in the sky as James, Patty, and Leslie set off for their first destination — Universer Studios.

Leslie had practically begged to go to the place, as she was very eager to see some of her favorite actors and actresses in action.

James had agreed easily. After all, he had the time, and they deserve the break for everything they have been through over the years.

James sat in the passenger seat while Patty enjoyed the backseat, letting Leslie take the wheel. This was her first proper outing as a driver, and she was nervous and excited at the same time.

Her fingers gripped the wheel a little too tightly at first, and James could see the subtle tension in her shoulders.

"Relax," James said, with a calm tone, trying to ease her nerve.

"You’re not defusing a bomb, just driving a car."

Leslie shot him a glare but quickly turned her attention back to the road, as she took a deep breath, and loosened her grip slightly.

"I swear, if you keep talking like that, I’ll make sure we crash into something," she muttered.

Patty chuckled from the back at their interactions.

"You’re doing fine, sweetheart. Just take it easy," she said, with a sweet, relaxing and reassuring voice.

One thing was to not that despite Leslie’s nerves, she drove surprisingly well. James had expected a few rookie mistakes. Like braking too hard or hesitating at turns, but she handled everything smoothly.

By the time they reached Universer Studios, her nervousness had faded completely, and had been replaced with excitement.

"Okay, that wasn’t so bad," Leslie admitted as she parked.

"See? No casualties. Yet." James smirked at her.

Leslie rolled her eyes but grinned as they stepped out of the car.

The moment they entered Universer Studios, the energy of the place was infectious. Tourists roamed about, taking pictures, and groups of excited fans lined up for various attractions.

Leslie was practically bouncing on her feet as she led the way, dragging both James and Patty through different sections of the park.

Patty and James looked at each other and laughed at how excited Leslie was.

The three of them explored The Wizarding World of Harry Potta, where Leslie geeked out over butterbeer and nearly spent half an hour picking out a wand at Ollivandars.

James, watching her excitement, smiled and shook his head.

"You realize that wand isn’t actually going to do magic, right?" He said, teasing her.

Leslie scoffed, knowing exactly what James was doing.

"Obviously. But it looks cool," she said, with a bright smile.

Patty chuckled as she sipped her butterbeer.

"Let her have her fun, James."

After they were done with Harry Potta world, they moved to Jurassic Wurld. They went to a section where different large dinosaurs were on display.

They walked towards a T-Rex animatronic and Leslie screamed dramatically when it roared a little too close to her.

James looking very unimpressed with her reaction, smirked and teased her.

"For someone who wanted to see actors in action, you get scared quite too easily."

"Shut up, James," Leslie screamed at him, with her face slightly red in embarrassment.

After they were done and had seen all they wanted to see, they left the dinosaur section. The day continued like that as they went on rides, attractions, and had nonstop fun.

By the time they got to the Fast & Furrious ride, James was genuinely impressed by the level of detail in the experience.

"I gotta admit. That was actually cool."" he said as they stepped off.

Leslie smirked, when she heard James complimenting the ride.

"Told you," she said proudly.

They ended the day with a stop at the Super Ninntendo World, where James and Leslie went head-to-head in a Mario Cart race.

Despite Leslie talking big as always, James completely destroyed her on the track. He didn’t give her a fighting chance.

"WHAT?! YOU CHEATED!" Leslie shouted.

James smirked at her, holding up the winning screen and rubbing his victory in her face.

"Nah, I’m just built different," he said, with a proud face.

Patty laughed at their antics before finally suggesting they call it a day. They have been having fun and she knew that everyone was tired.

"Come on, let’s get something to eat before heading home," Leslie said, with a satisfied smile.

They found a high-end restaurant near the park, where they enjoyed a quiet dinner.

When they got home, Leslie crashed onto the couch, feeling very exhausted and happy.

"Best. Day. Ever," she mumbled, with a wide smile on her face.

Leslie had never had so much fun in her life. Her parents divorced when she was 9. And her mom had to struggle to bring her up, as she didn’t bother asking for child support from her dad.

Even at a young age, young Leslie understood that her mother was struggling and she didn’t ask for things that girls her age asked for. For her, it meant that she couldn’t do the things she loves or go the places she wanted to go.

In a way, her life was similar to James and the was they were able to quickly become friends.

James saw how Leslie collapsed onto the couch and he chuckled, as he made his way upstairs, to take his bath and get ready for bed.

For the rest of the week and more than half of the next, the family did nothing but enjoy themselves, having fun and the time of their lives.

They visited Santa Monica Pier, where they rode the Ferris wheel, played arcade games, and James won Leslie a giant stuffed bear by absolutely dominating the basketball shooting game.

"Thank you!" Leslie said, smiling sweetly as she collected the best from him.

"Since when are you this good at shooting?" She asked in disbelief.

"Secret talent," James said, with a proud smirk.

One of their outings took them to Rodeo Drive, where Patty finally allowed herself to indulge in shopping — she was actually forced by James.

Leslie, on the other hand, had zero hesitation as she picked whatever she likes — while still minding the price as it’s James that’s paying and so, she made sure not to choose something with an over the top price.

"New wardrobe, here I come!" she declared, dragging James into designer stores one after another. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom

James had to endure sitting through multiple outfit changes as Leslie happily tried on expensive dresses, shoes, and accessories.

"I could get used to this," she said, admiring herself in a mirror.

"I created a monster." James smiled,

Later that evening, they went to a private beach, where they just sat and watched the waves as the sun set.

"This is nice." Patty sighed happily.

James simply nodded, watching the waves crash against the shore, and enjoying the cool breeze that kept blowing against his skin.

The beach made him think of buying his own private island but that would be for later.

While he spent most of the week with Patty and Leslie, James also made sure to enjoy his personal time.

At home, he spent hours watching classic movies, catching up on shows, and playing through some of his favorite games.

Leslie occasionally challenged him to some competitive games, but James destroyed her every time.

"Dude, HOW are you this good at literally everything?!" Leslie whined after losing for the tenth time.

"Superior genes." James smirked proudly.

"Give me some of your superior genes." Leslie grumbled.

"Nuh uh. We don’t do that here," James said, with a mischievous smile and Leslie flipped him a middle finger.

Aside from gaming, James also made time to hit the gym inside the mansion, maintaining his fitness.

He wasn’t obsessed with bodybuilding, but he knew staying in shape was important. After all, money was only useful if you were healthy enough to enjoy it.

Another reason for working out was because he wants to check if he can increase his stats naturally without stat points. But even after days of working out, his stat didn’t increase.

At night, James found himself reflecting on everything. He had spent the whole of last week and nearly half of the current week, doing nothing but having fun.

But he knew that soon the documents offshore trust holding company would be finalized, and once that happens, the real work would begin.

But for now? He had earned the right to relax.

And soon came sooner than expected for James.
