World Domination Begins With Getting a System in a Modern World-Chapter 112: Patty’s Suspicion
Chapter 112: Patty’s Suspicion
As Leslie’s lips touched James’, it was as if time itself ground to a halt.
The world outside, even the muffled noise of the TV downstairs, all vanished in an instant.
It was like it was just them. Just James and Leslie. Frozen in a moment that neither had ever dared imagine would actually happen.
James stood perfectly still, his mind blank and his body rigid. He didn’t move. He couldn’t for so many reasons.
His heart hammered violently against his chest, the sound of it roaring in his ears louder than anything else. Every fiber of his being screamed at him to do something — anything — but he couldn’t.
Shock. Awe. Fear. Need. Desire. They all crashed into him at once, like a tidal wave.
He felt the softness of Leslie’s lips against his — hesitant, trembling, as if she was terrified he would push her away — and it snapped something loose inside him and he finally stirred.
He reached up, his hand finding its way to the small of her back, pulling her closer.
He tilted his head slightly, angling himself, and kissed her back.
Gently at first. It was as if be was testing. Afraid to break her. Afraid to break this fragile thing between them.
But Leslie, emboldened by his response, pressed into him harder, with her fingers clutching at the front of his shirt, desperately needing to anchor herself to him.
And that was it. That was the push James needed, as the damn he had built inside himself — the one he had fortified for years — shattered completely, and his emotions gushed out freely.
James deepened the kiss instinctively, his hand sliding up from her back to cup the back of her head, tangling into her silky black hair.
He poured everything into that kiss — the years of longing, of denial, of suppressed emotions — all of it.
Leslie whimpered softly against him and he sound sending a jolt straight to his core. Her body melted into his, and he felt how soft and warm, and perfect it is.
James tasted salt, as a tear had slipped from Leslie’s eye and touched their lips — but neither of them cared.
They kissed like the world might end the next second. And maybe, in a way, it had — the old world where they pretended this wasn’t real had just crumbled away.
But they were interrupted by Patty’s voice.
"James! Leslie! What’s taking you so long? Lunch is getting cold!"
They jumped apart like guilty teenagers, breathing hard, faces flushed.
Leslie refused to meet his gaze, staring down at her shoes, her hands twisting nervously.
James swallowed, trying to steady the racing of his heart.
"We should... we should go" he muttered, voice rougher than he intended. freewebnoveℓ.com
Leslie just nodded quickly, and together, they made their way downstairs, to the dining area.
As they walked, the air between them was filled with lots of emotions. Leslie slowly turned her head and stole a glance at James, and when she saw him smiling at her, she quickly looked away.
Her face was beet red and sh felt like she should find a hole and jump inside it immediately. She immediately wanted to distance herself from James but he suddenly grabbed her wrist.
She turned to look at him shaking her head and with a pleading look on her face. She doesn’t want her mom to catch them like this.
Though, it looks like James wasn’t worried, she is. There are a lot of things that she’s aware of, that James might not know; and it’s the fact that all the woman around him feels something for him.
Her mother, her friends — Natasha, Selena, all of them feel something for James. And she feels that James also feel something for her mom.
But the actual reason Leslie doesn’t want her mother to find out, us because she doesn’t want to make feel like she doesn’t have any chance.
It might sound strange but Leslie doesn’t want her mom to be single forever. She want to her mom to find someone and who else would are approve other than James.
Leslie sighed and looked at James with a bright, cute and loving smile on her face.
"James, let’s not tell mom yet," she said, and James nodded.
The two of them straightened out the looks on the faces and walked to the dining area.
James saw Patty already seated and he gave her a quick peck, before taking his seat.
After James pecked her, Patty couldn’t help but notice something different. James has Leslie’s scent on him and his lips felt warm on her face.
She looked at him intently, studying him and she noticed that something was amiss. As a woman, her senses are sharp, and she could feel it — something was different.
Her eyes moved to Leslie and she saw how her head was lowered, as she ate her meal. It was she was forcing herself not to look up, but Patty could see the faint smile on her face.
With this, she was sure that something definitely happened between the two of them and she was very curious to know what it is. But she was aware that if she ask now, none of them would probably give her an answer.
Patty smiled and continued eating her meal. Though she has no idea what had happened between the both of them, she would find out soon enough. Maybe even sooner than she expect.

James ate his food quietly and after he was done, he stood and gave Patty a peck, before going up to his room.
Walking into his room, he sank into the single couch and sighed.
He sighed as the kiss replayed in his head, coupled with lots of emotions.
"Who knew Leslie felt that way too? If I did, I would had been the one to confess a long time ago," James muttered.
He sank further into the couch and sighed. He has a dinner date with Natasha though and with had just happened between him and Leslie, he sort of found himself in a tough spot.
Leslie has feelings for him and it’s mutual, Natasha also has feelings for him and he...
He can’t say he doesn’t have even the tiniest of feeling for Natasha, but it’s just not as strong as what he feels for Leslie... and Patty.
"I guess that’s why I always feel very protective of them?..." James muttered.
He found himself at a lost but he can only hope that things fix itself soon.
