Chapter 444: 003 Entrust

"I’ve misjudged the situation!"

Gerry and Harvey, these two young men, have actually developed feelings for each other in such a short time, and even had the man’s family come knocking. Luckily, she also managed to escape a disaster because of it.

Carl rested his chin on his hand, deep in thought.

He observed that Gerry’s methods weren’t very clever, difficult for Wizard Apprentices to notice, but discernible to an Official Wizard.

To avoid alerting the other party, he disconnected early, but Gerry should have been saved by then.

As for Anglie...

"There’s something wrong with this person!"

A few months ago, Anglie was just an ordinary Advanced Wizard Apprentice with slim hopes of becoming an Official Wizard. Now, not only has he become an Official Wizard, but he has also mastered at least two extremely peculiar spells of witchcraft.

One must understand that constructing a Magic Model is an extremely complex and tedious process, with hardly any shortcuts. Ordinary Wizards need to spend years, or even over a decade, learning before they can successfully construct one. Some complex spells of witchcraft may even take several decades! 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

Even with the absolute control provided by the Divine Domain Fragment, it would take Carl several months to construct a One-Circle Witchcraft.

Anglie was faster than him!

This is unreasonable. Unless... he was originally a First Ring Wizard, but for some reason, his cultivation level decreased.

"No!"

"Everything about Anglie’s life can be traced, so he most likely isn’t the original Anglie anymore."

"Possession? Usurpation?"

Carl’s eyes flickered. "Neither seems right!"

He himself had gone through an ’usurpation’ event, and he knew that once someone’s body was taken over, they would completely lose consciousness. Anglie was different. He still had deep feelings for his companions; knowing the danger, he still met with Gerry. It doesn’t quite seem like he became a different person.

"Forget it!"

Shaking his head, Carl put aside his wandering thoughts. "It’s none of my business. Even if there are secrets hidden within him, could they surpass the Divine Domain Fragment that can traverse realms?"

"What’s more, he’s already being watched. Interacting with him now would only attract more trouble."

However, Anglie’s experiences did raise his vigilance. It seems one must not be too extraordinary. Otherwise... once targeted by those with ulterior motives, endless troubles would ensue.

Carl carried too many secrets; not to mention others, the fact that he constructed four One-Circle Witchcraft spells in just a few years was beyond imagination. Even a Second Circle Wizard might not be able to resist taking action.

"Fortunately, I used Conni’s name. Only the Blind Seer, old Brin, knows my true identity."

"And he only knows that I have some talent on the Knight Path."

"Keeping a low profile is the way to go!"

He thought the matter was settled and that he could rest easy for a while, but someone came to visit in the evening.

It was a female Wizard with a benevolent demeanor.

The visitor wore a light golden Wizard Robe, with mystical patterns embroidered on it that gently swayed with her movements, as if whispers echoed in the air. Her appearance was like a freshly bloomed rose, both freshly elegant and brightly charming, especially those bright eyes, unforgettable to anyone who saw them. Her long hair, smooth as a waterfall, cascaded down her back, complementing the golden Wizard Robe, and accentuated her nobility.

Clearly, she was an Official Wizard from a great family; ordinary independent Wizards did not possess such a demeanor.

"Mr. Conni?"

"It’s me."

Carl put down the book in his hand, removed his monocle, stood up, and looked towards the visitor, his gaze shifting slightly.

He had seen this female Wizard not so long ago. Only she had not seen him.

Miss Nina from the Walker family, Harvey’s aunt, and also a First-order Middle Stage Wizard.

"Um..." Nina’s beautiful eyes sparkled, "Mr. Conni, do you recognize me?"

"I’ve seen you once," Carl replied with a light smile, "Miss Nina’s beauty, such that even dreams fail to replicate, is hard for anyone who has seen it to forget."

Nina smiled graciously. She was known as the pearl of the Dream Market and had heard similar praises many times before, most laced with flattery. Or other motives. Very few knew that Nina possessed a special ability—a keen perception of changes in other people’s thoughts. She was a natural-born lie detector. It was precisely for this reason that she had been entrusted by Harvey’s mother to meet the so-called daughter-in-law. So she truly enjoyed Carl’s compliments, because his compliments didn’t contain any displeasing thoughts.

"I’ve heard Harvey mention Mr. Conni, a trailblazer on the Knight Path. What’s more surprising is that you are also a Wizard!"

Legendary Knights weren’t rare, nor were Official Wizards, but it was extremely rare to be both. Even if at the First Order Early Stage, their combined strength could match that of a First-order Middle Stage Wizard.

"Fortuitous," Carl habitually humbled himself. "Does Miss Nina have something she needs from me?"

"Yes," Nina gently touched her forehead, her expression complex. "Mr. Conni is well aware, without some special opportunity, Harvey will remain a Great Knight for his whole life."

"For ordinary people, becoming a Great Knight is already quite good, but he comes from the Walker family. He’s had high aspirations since he was young, and if he can never break through, I’m afraid he won’t be able to bear it."

Carl slowly nodded.

"Fortunately!" Nina took a deep breath and said, "We’ve discovered several magic belladonna plants in a mountain valley. These are witchcraft plants containing Origin Power. With a few other ingredients, we can help Harvey become a Legendary Knight."

"Hmm," Carl’s eyes shimmered. "That’s good news."

"With the Walker family’s power, retrieving them shouldn’t be a problem, and Harvey still has hope."

"No!" Nina shook her head. "That valley is called Snake Valley because of the many poisonous snakes residing there, with two particularly troublesome ones. Even my father isn’t confident he could kill them."

Carl wasn’t surprised by this. Objects possessing Origin Power were mostly Third-tier; if not Third-tier, then at least Second Order. It was only normal for them to have Guardians nearby.

"Miss Nina," Carl smiled, "you don’t intend to ask for my help, do you? That’s something even the old man of the Walker family cannot handle."

"It’s different," Nina shook her head. "What my father can’t do is exactly Mr. Conni’s area of expertise. I hear you want to build a Wizard Tower?"

"...Yes," Carl rubbed his temples.

"Building a Wizard Tower isn’t easy. It often takes generations of a Wizard Family to finish one," Nina spoke up. "I have a half-finished one."

"While it doesn’t have the Eye of Insight, it does have a Starshine Disk and a complete foundation. The foundation is engraved with the One-Circle Witchcraft, Star Collapse."

"If Mr. Conni is willing to lend a hand, no matter the outcome, it will be yours as due reward!"

Carl looked contemplative.

Seeing this, Nina tactfully didn’t continue to press.

There was no rush on this matter; much preparation was still needed. This visit was firstly to become acquainted and secondly to prepare. Even if he didn’t agree, it wasn’t a problem for the Walker family, who had alternative plans. Even this ’Conni’ in front of her wasn’t the best choice, since they hadn’t cooperated before and lacked a foundation of trust.

A Wizard Tower—the dream of every Wizard was to possess their own, and Carl was no exception.

However, he didn’t agree outright; instead, he went to old Brin’s shop.

"The Walker family?" The sightless Old Brin, holding a skull, didn’t lift his head as he spoke, "You should be well aware of this family’s style; they’re more trustworthy compared to other families."

"Yes." Carl pulled over a chair and sat down. "The Walkers have always been well-regarded; otherwise, I wouldn’t have come to confirm with you."

He would have rejected it immediately!

"The Walker family has something they need your help with?" Old Brin raised his head. "As long as the contract is sound, there shouldn’t be much trouble. They probably won’t be able to take advantage of you, given your cautious nature."

Carl shrugged. He then took out the gravity hammer, placing it on the ground. "Take a look at this Witch Artifact for me. Can it be fixed?"

The hammer was stained with the blood of the Evil God, its surface corroded with pits, and the Magic Circuits etched on it also damaged. He had been very comfortable using this tool; it would be a pity to have it destroyed just like that.

"What did you come across to end up with this?" old Brin groped the hammer, shaking his head repeatedly. "Fixing it is definitely out of the question, but the material is good. It should be possible to have someone forge it into other weapons."

"I know an Artifact Refining master..."
