Chapter 417: 162 Scavenge

"We’ve struck it rich!"

As several Witchcraft Traps were crushed, a secret chamber hidden underground opened its doors before Carl.

There were towers of Magic Stones, piles of Magic Crystals, and various top-notch preserved meats.

The value...

At least tens of thousands of Magic Stones!

With a full beard, Carl laughed heartily, epitomizing the image of an arrogant and domineering Legendary Knight.

It’s true that a horse doesn’t grow fat without night grass, and a person doesn’t grow rich without windfalls. Earning so many Magic Stones through work would take who knows how long.

He shouldered his heavy hammer and strode forward, collecting piles of supplies into the Divine Domain Fragment.

Others, seeing this, would at most be surprised by the large storage space of his Witch Artifact and would definitely not think of anything else.

"Sir..." one of the three following closely behind him spoke up tentatively, "we’ve already revealed the hidden chambers where the collection is stashed. Now... can you let us go?"

"What’s the rush?" Carl turned around slowly. "It’s chaotic around here, and sticking with me, at least you can be guaranteed safety. Besides, there are plenty of supplies here, but not the thing I truly want."

The three of them wore bitter smiles. What could he possibly want?

"Besides this place, where else could there be treasure?" Carl picked up three Magic Crystals and tossed them to the three men. "Yours!"

One Magic Crystal could be exchanged for one hundred Magic Stones, but that was just the official rate; in reality, it was worth far more. Privately exchanged, it could fetch one hundred and twenty to thirty Magic Stones. Over one hundred Magic Stones were undoubtedly a fortune for those who worked hard for a mere few Magic Stones a month.

The three subconsciously accepted the Magic Crystals. Their breathing suddenly quickened, and their hearts pounded even faster.

"If today’s haul satisfies me, I will certainly satisfy you," Carl said with a grin. "So... where else?"

The three exchanged glances, quickly shared their opinions, and one of them looked up, his voice muffled. "I know of a hidden place that might have what you are looking for."

"Oh!" Carl’s eyes lit up. "Lead the way!"

「Shortly after.」

HAHA...

Facing the skeleton of a Second Order Creature, Carl couldn’t help but burst into continuous laughter. He stepped forward to collect it into the Divine Domain Fragment.

"Good!" he exclaimed. "You’ve done very well!"

Although it was just a Second Order skeleton, far from enough for a Bloodline Wizard to analyze specific Bloodlines for advancement, it was still highly valuable. Moreover, the key energy core was still intact. For some reason, there were also four Second Order Creature cores here.

For Carl, these resources were enough to cultivate to the third level of the Holy Demon Transformation, with some to spare.

As a ’generous’ Knight, he was, of course, not stingy with rewards, casually throwing out three Magic Crystals.

SWOOSH!

The Magic Crystals flying toward the three men suddenly halted in midair, then shot off in another direction.

"TSK TSK..." A man walked out from the darkness. "Friend, you are truly magnanimous, to casually reward with such items. Though, it’s a bit of a waste on them."

Carl narrowed his eyes, looking at the newcomer.

He was a Wizard clad in a Shadow Wizard Robe. The robe’s inherent witchcraft allowed him to blend into the darkness, making him hard to detect. The Magic Wand in his hand resembled a hiltless Longsword; one glance at it made one’s skin instinctively tense.

An Official Wizard!

"Useless!" The Shadow Wizard pocketed the Magic Crystals and turned to look at the man following behind him, his voice cold. "Didn’t you say that, besides Vincent, you were the only person who knew about this place? If I had been a step later, I would have found nothing but a thoroughly plundered secret chamber!"

"My lord," the man behind him, dressed impeccably and wearing a beast arena badge at his waist, seemed to be one of the people in charge here. He bowed hastily. "This is a treasure hiding place secretly arranged by the Andrew family. Theoretically... no one else should know about it. Unless someone has been secretly probing!" As he spoke, he glared fiercely at the three people behind Carl. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

"You may well be right," the Shadow Wizard nodded. "But you almost spoiled my big plan, so..."

BOOM!

A shadowy figure burst from the ground, penetrating the beast arena manager’s body, then tearing it apart from within.

The blood and flesh that scattered in all directions left the three men behind Carl with pale faces. One of them collapsed to the ground, his knees weak.

"Legendary Knight!" After killing the manager, the Shadow Wizard looked towards Carl, his expression indifferent. "I’m in a good mood today. Leave behind the things you’ve collected, and I’ll let you leave this place."

His tone was calm, his stance arrogant. He was evidently used to treating Knights as underlings.

In fact, Legendary Knights were indeed much weaker than Wizards; even Advanced Wizard Apprentices could potentially kill them. His act of letting them leave their belongings was, in his mind, displaying his ’benevolence.’

"Heh..." Carl smirked. "You talk too much!"

Charge!

The distance between the two was only about ten meters – practically within reach for a Legendary Knight.

With a stomp of his foot, the air in front of him rippled like the surface of water, followed by the sound of a sonic boom. His extreme speed turned him into an afterimage, and he appeared instantly in front of his opponent.

WHOOSH...

The heavy hammer was raised high.

"Hm?" The Shadow Wizard showed surprise, apparently not expecting Carl’s speed to be so fast. But no matter how fast the body moved, it could not compare to the speed of a Wizard’s thought. As his Magic Wand flickered, streaks of black threads appeared out of nowhere in the area.

The threads, like a giant web, entangled Carl’s body and the hammer in his hand, pulling fiercely backward.

CRACK...

The force of this pull, theoretically, could easily tear apart a Legendary Knight.
