Chapter 408: Chapter 390: The True Culprit Behind the Family Massacre (Part 2)

"That’s right, it’s me."

"Her husband is nothing more than my pawn."

Whoever lets that woman abandon me and regard others as her own.

Then I’ll destroy what she cherishes.

Mu Yunchu furrowed her brows.

She felt this man was probably a lunatic.

So many lives taken, just to avenge his mother abandoning him.

"Of course, if that person wasn’t inherently greedy, I couldn’t have succeeded in manipulating him."

"But you don’t have to be too angry, haven’t I killed that person long ago?"

"You’ve seen him before."

Mu Yunchu recalled that water ghost.

Unexpectedly, the enemy nanny searched for so long turned out to be her own son.

This answer left even Mu Yunchu feeling poignant.

"Enough, no more nonsense, you’re all going to die here."

The blood on the ground had yet to dry, and Li Yunhe staggered back clutching his chest, his mysterious Taoist robe torn in several places by the previous shockwave.

He looked toward the increasingly dense purple fog in the east of the city, then turned to face Mu Yunchu, his eyes engulfed by madness.

"Seems there’s nothing more for me to do."

"Then I can fight with abandon."

Li Yunhe suddenly tore open his collar, revealing the black patterns like coiled dragons on his chest, left by years of practicing the evil technique, now pulsing with his breaths. "Today I’ll show you what true Mystic Sect Taoist Skill is!"

Before his words fell, he suddenly bit his tongue, spraying a mouthful of vital blood onto the peach wood sword. The originally sinister peach wood sword suddenly grew three feet longer, with dense inscriptions appearing on its blade, transforming into a giant black snake phantom, which opened its gaping mouth and lunged at Mu Yunchu.

Wherever it passed, the bluestone pavement on the ground was corroded into deep grooves.

Mu Yunchu touched down lightly and leapt into the air, pinching a sword technique in her right hand and quickly drawing a "Three Pure Ones Evil Suppression Talisman" with her left.

The moment the talisman paper left her hand it transformed into a golden light barrier. The giant snake crashed into the barrier with a deafening roar, black scales flying, and the golden light was shattered into spiderweb-like cracks.

She dared not be negligent, quickly sealing, her fingertips touching seven invisible star positions in the air in succession.

As her last finger fell, seven silver beams shot out from the void, like the Big Dipper forming a chain, tightly binding the serpent’s vital spot. "Heaven and Earth Mystic Sect, all Qi to the source, break!"

The silver beams suddenly tightened, and the snake phantom emitted a piercing shriek, shattering inch by inch in the interweaving of golden and silver lights. Li Yunhe grunted, black blood seeped from the corner of his mouth, yet he smiled increasingly menacingly: "Interesting!"

In this short time, Mu Yunchu’s strength had grown stronger again.

He spread his arms, his ten fingernails instantly turning black and sharp, countless twisted ghostly shadows appeared behind him, attacking Mu Yunchu along with his gestures.

The ghostly shadows emitted ear-splitting screeches, condensing light blue ice crystals in the air they passed, causing even the teammates who hadn’t fainted in the distance to shiver involuntarily.

Mu Yunchu took a deep breath, shielding herself with talismans, leaving behind wisps of black smoke.

The two exchanged blows back and forth, the shockwave from their magic clashing sent the surrounding rubble flying skyward.

Li Yunhe was just hurling a boulder weighing a thousand pounds, when it was shattered by Mu Yunchu’s "Palm Thunder";

Simultaneously, Mu Yunchu took out the Eight Diagrams Mirror, causing Li Yunhe to be unable to open his eyes, while he instantly teleported to the side, tossing three talismans saturated in corpse oil.

The clouds in the sky were churned by the magic, only the two continuously colliding lights and shadows darting through the alley, sometimes the explosion of golden light like daylight, sometimes black qi spreading like an abyss.

Wei Xianzhong struggled to lift his head, feeling the scene before him like a battle of gods and demons, his breath suppressed intermittently by the terrifying force.

"This can’t go on..." Li Yunhe added another deep wound, exposing the bone on his left rib, where Mu Yunchu had struck him, now emitting white smoke, pain nearly causing him to lose grip of the peach wood sword.

He glanced at the scalding Netherworld Seal in his palm, a glint of resolve flashed in his eyes.

"Mu Yunchu, taste true power!" Li Yunhe suddenly stopped his attack, raising the Netherworld Seal above his head, chanting an obscure incantation.

The spell carried a chilling gloom that seemed to emanate from the Nine Netherworld Hell, the beast head on the Netherworld Seal suddenly opened its eyes, twin beams shooting out from its dark red pupils, enveloping Li Yunhe’s entire body.

"This is bad! He’s forcibly merging with the power of the Netherworld Seal!" Mu Yunchu’s expression changed dramatically.

Just then, Li Yunhe’s body began to swell, with dark golden patterns matching the Netherworld Seal’s emerging beneath his skin, the aura he emitted was hardly inferior to the serpent head phantom from earlier.

At that moment, a cold snort like a clap of thunder sounded between heaven and earth. "Audacious!"

The voice was not loud, yet carried supreme authority, leaving Li Yunhe dumbfounded. His raised arms holding the Netherworld Seal trembled involuntarily.

A black figure suddenly appeared before him.

The newcomer wore a mysterious black robe embroidered with golden cloud patterns, his face obscured in shadows, showing only a pair of eyes deeper than the Netherworld Seal, emanating a cold so intense it froze the air.

Li Yunhe stared for a while, hesitantly speaking:

"Netherworld King?"

The Netherworld King ignored him, eyes landing on the Netherworld Seal, his voice carrying a trace of displeasure: "When did my belongings become subjects for mere mortals to lay fingers on?"

Earlier, Mu Yunchu found the Netherworld Seal and sent a message to him.

He was merely delayed by some matters, hence his tardiness.

Mu Yunchu felt she suffered some injuries, watching the Netherworld King’s back with a hint of helplessness.

"If you came any later, your Netherworld Seal might’ve been lost."

The Netherworld King shrugged. "What’s to fear, I arrived on time, didn’t I?"

The final qualifying match, he couldn’t miss it.

Mu Yunchu: "..."

Li Yunhe looked into the Netherworld King’s emotionless eyes, suddenly recalling something, a crazed smile spread across his face:

"Since the Netherworld King refuses to assist, I’ll summon a stronger existence!"

He viciously bit open his heart’s location, dousing the Netherworld Seal with the flowing blood, "With my broken body as sacrifice, with my spirit as guide, I humbly invite the Heavenly Demon to descend!"

The beast head on the Netherworld Seal emitted a scream of agony, the seal began to crack.

An even more evil force than black qi and cold emanated from Li Yunhe, coalescing into a blurry demonic face above.

Yet just as the magic was halfway released.

A sorrowful cry suddenly echoed from the alley’s entrance.

"Yunhe! Don’t!"
