Who Designed This Underworld Dungeon?-Chapter 925 - 604: I Want to Learn the Tachi
"I want to learn the tachi."
Lanle solemnly said to the guards in front of him.
"..."
The guards looked at each other, not knowing how to respond.
What you want to learn is your freedom, why notify us?
But it didn't really seem like Lanle was seeking their opinion. He was merely looking for a way to announce his goal and along the way, gave his guards a request.
He pointed at each of the guards and said:
"You will learn the Great Sword, you will learn Dual Blades, you, the Insect Control Stick, and you, learn the Hunting Flute. With my tachi, we will become the elite dragon hunters!"
He swiftly assigned tasks to everyone and then looked up at the azure sky with arms akimbo.
He could only feel a bright and beautiful future waving at him.
The guards felt that their master had lost his mind, probably brainwashed by those mysterious adventurers.
Lanle's change came after interacting with people who were ostensibly adventurers but were actually Temude's guards.
Their conversation wasn't that complex.
First, the guards shared their speculative location of the Great Dragon Feast Church.
Second, they mentioned the fact that skilled dragon hunters were among the unique weapon users in the forest area.
These two pieces of information were unrelated on their own, but combined, they become the realization that "those who trained in the forest area can slay dragons as if they were nothing, and consuming a dragon's heart transforms them into real men."
At least, that's how Lanle saw it, so he was eager to act, splitting his forces between searching for the Great Dragon Feast Church and learning the tachi.
Once he could also perform the Dragon Feast, he reckoned he'd have popularity akin to Temude.
His rationality told him it wasn't that simple, but his passion urged him to give it a try against all odds.
Moreover, as a reformist prince, why would he learn such a melee weapon like the tachi?
"Since those magicians are not helping me, I'm now on a different path from them!"
This was his decisive conclusion. He might still bear the reformist banner, but he would no longer open his heart to those people.
Past hesitations led him to regret missing the first Battle Festival, but now he had learned his lesson and resolved to never be indecisive again!
"You, go find the location of the Great Dragon Feast Church, the rest, come with me into the Sain Dungeon."
Lanle now, with maximum action capability!
This was Lanle's first entry into the Sain Dungeon, but he felt no anxiety, only anticipation filled his heart.
As for the guards....
"Right now, so many people are banding together for the Battle Festival, more than even the entire Black Stone City, surprisingly drawn by that shadowy image. I know of four recruiting groups, each fairly large."
"And I've heard that a group plans to head to the Battle Festival the day after tomorrow, led by eight Gold Level adventurers. Why doesn't Prince Lanle join them?"
"Because His Highness wants to form a team by his own renown, like Prince Temude, instead of joining others' groups."
"It's rare to see His Highness so motivated, I should make sure to learn properly too!"
The stars shifted, and deep into the night, a weary group appeared again near the Teleportation Gate, all looking utterly exhausted.
Lanle, carried on a guard's shoulder, murmured as if his soul was elsewhere:
"Running around the whole day just to see the Round Table Hall... just how large is this place..."
He originally thought they could head straight to the forest area, but realized they couldn't enter the Fire Transmission Ceremony without first unlocking the Round Table Hall entry.
So, they ran around all day, finally finding the Omen Demon following a guide, which led them to the Round Table Hall.
Just getting there made them utterly exhausted.
By daylight, revitalized, they came to challenge Sain again, though with a faintly apprehensive look.
Fortunately, this time, they achieved their goal, reaching the Fire Transmission Ceremony smoothly and successfully arrived at the forest area, accompanied by a newly hired guide.
The guide seemed like an elf, carrying on their back a tachi made of some unknown material, looking sharp and capable, though there was a strong scent of alcohol on them.
"Just call me Merca, what would you like to know? I'm very familiar with this place,"
Said Merca, Steeran's sister, the elf.
"Hmm... we heard the weapons here are unique, and we're drawn by the idea of dragon slaying. If possible, could you introduce us to the area's basic facilities and the features of various weapons?"
This time, Lanle concealed his identity, guessing he appeared to Merca as some wealthy young master. This was his first experience hiding his identity, an exciting novelty.
"Ah, aspiring to slay dragons, are we~" Merca's lips curled into a smile, motioning, "Come this way, I'll take you to the outpost first."
"Outpost?"
Lanle was puzzled, he heard that besides the Lake District, the forest area was also restricted to ten-person exploration, how could there be an outpost?
Then again, it might be part of the Sain Dungeon itself, better to check it out first. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
The forest area, one of the "oldest" areas of Sain Dungeon, to this day, remains a place veteran adventurers like to recommend to newcomers.
