Who Designed This Underworld Dungeon?-Chapter 1309 - 826: 365 Miles (2)
Faced with this situation, what else can everyone say? Run back! Run to the basement of Blacksmith Andre and you'll be safe.
"Who startled that flying dragon!" Fingerley shouted as he flung his arms and ran, not having the energy to face another dragon fight.
"No idea!" Matilda glanced back, noticing that the only one missing from the Skyrim Strategy Group who should've arrived first was Luluwo.
Alright, now it seems pretty clear that this guy had something to do with the dragon being startled.
Because logically speaking, unless there's a big commotion, the Flying Dragon Bridge bonfire shouldn't attract the dragon's attention.
"Where did the captain go?" Tami asked as he ran, looking around for any sign of Luluwo.
"Forget about the captain for now; she's probably all hyped up again!" Berto pushed Tami forward, urging him to focus on running.
Being a long-time follower of Luluwo, Berto knew his captain's temperament very well, anticipating even at the fifth narrow bridge how Luluwo would react—definitely so thrilled that she'd lose herself in the moment!
The group ran with the dragon in pursuit, the scene hilariously reminiscent of a comedy cartoon.
But the dragon couldn't catch up with them, seasoned explorers using buildings as cover, and Fingerley even joked with some partners as they ran.
"How did you guys make it back? Let me guess." With a sudden "smack" of his palm, he added, "Was it like this?"
Matilda nodded, her face under the helmet showing a reluctant yet resigned expression.
Fingerley turned to the others behind him and asked the same question.
Everyone looked at him expressionlessly, then clapped their hands.
"Haha—"
The gloom on his face vanished, and he couldn't help but laugh.
"Hahaha, so everyone got unlucky in the exact same way!"
They were all pushed down by that Silver Knight armor at the end!
And judging from their actions, they probably high-fived the Silver Knight armor before being pushed down.
This situation turned into a dark joke that was hard not to laugh at.
"Hahaha—"
If only one suffered from a trap, it would be infuriating, but when companions fall one after another in the same trap, the nature of the situation changes.
Hearing Fingerley's carefree laughter, everyone's expressions varied, but they all wound up doing the same unexpected thing: They all started venting about Sain Dungeon.
"Who piles up armor at the door? Afraid it won't be enough to block the path? I have to hand it to whoever designed this city; their thinking is just warped."
"Don't you find the Snake-man charging with a big shield quite ridiculous? After I dodged, it ran straight into a blade and knocked itself out."
"Can people really live in this lousy building? Which idiot thought of putting so many long, narrow bridges everywhere? As if normal maintenance wasn't hassle enough."
"I don't want to run around this crummy place anymore; I want to go home and rest!"
The scene instantly turned as lively as the tavern affiliated with the adventurer's guild, where exhausted adventurers would order a strong drink and vocally complain about every gripe-worthy experience in the Dungeon, either meeting mockery or finding sympathetic companions in folly.
Fingerley's mouth curled into a smile, missing this environment, as Scameroon's adventurer's guild had been mostly closed due to war, with the remaining part inaccessible.
"Crack!"
A thunder spear streaked across the sky, striking the red flying dragon. The righteous Sun Warrior Solar arrived to help, successfully driving away the relentless dragon.
"Thank you, Solar."
With those words, everyone ran further away, stopping to rest in front of Sain Ancient City instead of Andre's room.
There, they encountered Luluwo at the gate, holding several red scales and sticking them on her belly.
If one wasn't mistaken, these should be dragon scales, from the red flying dragon no less.
No wonder the red flying dragon had been chasing them so relentlessly....
"Ah, you're here sooner than I expected." Luluwo blinked, handing over a few dragon scales after some thought. "Want to stick on a few? I'm using them to block stray arrows."
"..."
Seeing Luluwo clearly gearing up to further explore Sain Ancient City, everyone's initial resentment faded away.
Forget it; in the adventuring field, who doesn't have their quirks?
"I'm heading back first." Fingerley waved, thinking he'd already run to the Fire Transmission Ceremony earlier to avoid the dragon.
Either way, it wasn't far from the ceremony now, as the Undead Parish had a direct lift to the Fire Transmission Ceremony. The map's design cleverly evoking a pleasant sensation.
Initially, the plan was to rest after defeating the Chaos Witch, but the sight of Sain Ancient City's door being open provoked an unplanned exploration.
As everyone progressed through several long bridges, they sensed something was off. We said we'd lightly explore, yet how did we end up going deeper?
They were just reluctantly pushing forward, running low on morale.
Upon dying once, they were sent back to the start, too taxing even for iron warriors. Naturally, Fingerley and the others didn't wish to continue further.
"Captain, I want to rest now too." Tami sighed deeply, feeling utterly drained, as did the rest of the Skyrim Strategy Group.
Seeing this state among her companions, Luluwo finally snapped out of her euphoria. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Once the excitement dropped, exhaustion washed over her. Realizing her body couldn't handle another exploration, she needed to rest for several days.
"Then let's head back today."
Luluwo reluctantly glanced back at Sain Ancient City, her ambitions for the city still burning, or rather, maintaining her unresolved aspirations.
"Next time, I'll strip you bare."
With such bold words, she turned and left.
This exploration could be described as bountiful.
After defeating the Chaos Witch, the massive soul rewards from it advanced Fingerley a level, and abundant materials and items could replenish the army's supplies while rare items, like Krag's soul, became valuable assets for enhancing power.
That's why adventurers loved Sain Dungeon so much—the return after risking life and limb is totally worth it.
Sometime later, when everyone returned fully loaded, the sky outside transitioned from night to dawn, almost reaching the next day.
This meant they'd spent over a whole day in Sain Dungeon, quite a bit longer than the planned half-day, leaving Hevi likely worried.
"They're back!"
As soon as Luluwo and her group appeared near the Teleportation Gate, they alerted the soldiers, who hurried to inform Hevi, while medics gathered around for examinations, showing great care.
However, more than this, Luluwo was intrigued by another curiosity.
She noticed Hepa Town was in disarray, with quite a few peculiarly dressed newcomers.
"Who are these people?"
The medic performing her check answered casually:
"Adventurers. They suddenly arrived in droves."
