Whispers to the Soul: Surrendering to Love Snare-Chapter 613 - 632: Lin Mubai’s College Days
An Nan spoke nonchalantly, but Lin Mubai knew the depths of what he was saying. Defeating a well-known trader on Wall Street could never be a simple task. The only thing it indicated was that the little woman in his arms was even more formidable than the renowned trader on Wall Street. Unconsciously, he began to doubt the construction of the little woman’s brain he held.
Just what kind of brilliant mind does it take to beat such a famous trader on Wall Street?
An Nan, oblivious to the thoughts in the man’s mind as he embraced her, continued speaking to herself, "I’ve been sensitive to numbers since I was young, but I’m not particularly interested in them. I studied finance because I knew that to persuade someone to help you willingly, you need great persuasive power, and the quickest way to persuade someone is to be better than them. However, I found that what we learned in school was too theoretical and lacked practical application, so most of my methods came from real-world experience. I seem to have quite good luck; except for losing some money at the start, I’ve been making profit since then, although I didn’t make it too obvious and just dabbled simply."
When it came to how formidable this little woman was in trading, Lin Mubai really didn’t want to make any comments, because the more he knew, the more it was a blow to himself. No man likes to feel inferior to his own wife. To avoid further blows to his ego, he simply changed the subject, "Yes, school is indeed like that."
"And what about you? What were you like when you were studying in the United States?" An Nan asked with curious eyes blinking.
Lin Mubai gave a doting smile and slowly spoke, "Much simpler than you, not as colorful, but I started setting up my own company when I was in college, so I was quite busy."
"Wow, you started a company while in college, that’s impressive."
"Many college students abroad do the same. After I went to the United States, I didn’t take a penny from home. At the beginning, it was tough. I also traded stocks, and my initial startup fund came from stocks. However, I wasn’t as talented as you. The company nearly didn’t survive due to lack of business at first, but I never gave up. Eventually, things got better." Lin Mubai glossed over all the past hardships with a single sentence. In his view, this little woman didn’t need to know too much about the difficulties; she only needed to live happily now.
"Did you feel any reluctance when you gave up on your career in the United States to return home?"
"Of course, I did. The company was like raising a child to me, but I also knew what was most important to me. I left for so many years, pursuing a youthful dream, and once the dream was realized, I was meant to get back on the path of life I should have. I figured this out long ago, so when I gave it up, it wasn’t too hard."
Hearing this, An Nan had to admire the man’s sense of purpose in life. But isn’t it just that which leads to success?
Thinking of this, she gently patted his shoulder and said with a smile, "Then you just work hard from now on, and I’ll be responsible for being beautiful at home."
Hearing this, Lin Mubai almost choked on his own saliva. He really wanted to retort, "Do you even have a stunning beauty?" But in the end, he didn’t say it out loud. However, the indistinct amusement in his eyes still betrayed the joy in his heart.
