While I Was Giving Love Advice to My Best Friend, the School's Most Beautiful Girl Somehow Became the Closest Person to Me-Chapter 2Volume 1 . - ※Alisas Interest
※Alisa’s Interest
*Asahina Alisa’s POV
“I ran into Kokoro on my way home today. We met by chance while we were walking home together.”
“Is she doing well?”
“As usual. She seems to be really into her club activities.”
“I see. If Kokoro went to the same school, we could have eaten together like we used to.”
Shizuku, Kokoro, and I have been childhood friends and were always together until we graduated junior high school. But Kokoro, who had a talent for swimming, went to the same sports-focused high school as my brother.
We’re high school students now, so I guess it’s natural for us to go our separate ways, but it still feels lonely since neither Shizuku nor I have many friends.
I sit down at the dining table when I hear that the curry is ready.
“As long as she’s doing well, that’s good. But I’ve been a bit worried because she hasn’t been messaging me as much lately.”
“That’s…”
“My message inbox is filled with Alisa’s messages, so I’m fine. By the way…”
Shizuku places a bowl of curry in front of me. It smells so good that I feel like I can eat a lot!
Ah, but I already have pancakes in my stomach, so maybe I can only eat about three bowls.
Shizuku stops after placing the bowl down. When I look up, she’s still smiling.
“You said you were ‘walking home together’, but who did you walk home with today?”
I’ve said too much. But I don’t need to keep secrets from my beloved Shizuku.
“Today, you know, I had some time, so I invited Kogure-kun out. I wonder why he’s getting close to you, Shizuku.”
“What? You really did that!? Geez! I told you about it and you called him out on the same day!”
“It’s better to act quickly if he’s going to harm you, Shizuku.”
“Well… that means Kogure-kun wasn’t a threat but if you walked home together, right?”
“It’s… well, I guess.”
“I told you, didn’t I? He’s not a bad person.”
Kogure-kun, huh? A boy from the same class.
Before meeting him, he seemed like an inconspicuous male student, neither harmful nor beneficial, insignificant.
But… talking with him was surprisingly nice.
“Yeah, he wasn’t that bad.”
“Huh? It’s rare for Alisa, who dislikes boys, to walk home together with a boy.”
“That’s what my heart told me.”
I’m wary of boys who blatantly show desire for me.
Having been subjected to unpleasant stares from countless boys, perhaps even in the triple digits, I’ve come to the conclusion that I can’t trust boys at all.
Honestly, I have a normal interest in romance. I’ve read all the romance manga that Shizuku has, and I do wish I could experience a love like that. But I’ve never been in love.
Well, it’s probably because I start off being cautious with any man who isn’t family.
I don’t think there’s a need to date in high school, though. After all, only a handful of high school couples end up marrying. So, it’s perfectly fine to wait until university or, frankly, until one is a working adult to start dating.
I’m confident in my family background and looks, so I can choose a better man when I’m older. But I wonder why I let my guard down so much with Kogure-kun.
I had decided to never let my guard down around boys… Maybe it’s because he likes Shizuku, and I felt safe knowing he doesn’t have feelings for me.
“If Alisa can trust him that much, then he really must not be a bad person. At first, I thought he was just approaching me because he was after you, Alisa, but it seems that’s not the case.”
“I considered that possibility too.”
It’s not like there haven’t been boys who’ve tried to mess with Shizuku before. And their sole purpose was always to use Shizuku to get to me, who is close to her. That’s why I’ve been doling out proper retribution to any boy who tries to involve Shizuku… But when I first met him, Kogure-kun seemed to have a sense of discomfort towards me.
“I was a bit ticked off at the end because it felt like he was underestimating me.”
“Eh?”
“Never mind. It seems he spoke to Shizuku on a whim. But Shizuku is the cutest in the world, so maybe he took a liking to you.”
“Stop it! Only you and Kokoro would say something like that. Compared to you two, I’m just…”
I can’t yet reveal to Shizuku that Kogure-kun has feelings for her.
First, I need to push their relationship beyond just friends. Because…
My phone chimes with a notification. I glance at it and see a message has arrived.
“It’s from my brother, ah, from Shizuru.”
“Wha, Shizuru-san!?”
Shizuku’s face lights up. Ah, she’s so endearingly cute. I adore Shizuku when she makes such a charming expression.
Shizuru is my older brother who lives in a dormitory, so naturally, he hardly ever comes home.
We three childhood friends have known him since we were little, and even without my bias as his sister… my brother is probably very popular.
There’s hardly a student at our school who can match up to my brother, except maybe Hirasawa Reo in terms of height and appearance.
I check the message from my brother.
“Shizuru says he’ll stop by the house tomorrow. Maybe we should invite him for dinner.”
“Really? Hehe, then I’ll have to make something delicious… It’s been a while since I’ve seen Shizuru-san.”
Shizuku blushes with her hand pressed to her chest. She’s been in love with my brother for ten years, faithfully harboring those feelings.

But her love is far too dangerous. I must act quickly, or… Shizuku will find out about it.
If she does, it might destroy the bond between us three childhood friends.
To prevent that, I must stoke the flames.
I notice there’s still an unread message on LINE. That’s right, I was in the middle of messaging Kogure-kun.
The only message I could confirm was:
Kogure Ryouma『I’ve attached the recipe for the caramel sauce to put on pancakes. Please try it with Otsuki-san if you’d like.』
“Hey, Shizuku.”
“What is it?”
“There’s something I want to eat tomorrow morning.”
I have to work hard… to stir up Kogure-kun and shake Shizuku’s emotions.
“Pancakes! And I want chicken katsu for dinner.”
