When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 973: A Familiar Feeling Surges in My Heart
"I know your worries and concerns. I’m seeking your opinion before I propose to her."
The words of the brother reached the ears of the sister hiding outside, and Rhiannon Xavier’s eyes widened!
She felt a tug in her chest, and anxiously hurried towards Gia’s residence. As she walked, she began to run, racing against time!
"Mother, you just need to answer me, do you like Gia?" In the hall, Nathan Xavier softly inquired.
Before his mother could answer, he added, "Disregarding all other factors, answer just this question: do you wish for a girl like her to be your daughter-in-law?"
Mrs. Xavier heard the sincerity in her son’s voice; he really did like Gia, didn’t he?
Meeting her son’s gaze, the middle-aged woman finally conceded, "Of course, I do hope so. I’ve always felt a connection with her."
"Then leave the rest to me," Nathan Xavier said softly.
Upon hearing his mother’s reply, Nathan’s face finally lit up with a relaxed and happy smile. He said, "Love has its destiny; I won’t force her."
Mrs. Xavier suddenly understood her son and supported his decision because love indeed has its own destiny.
If it’s meant to be, they won’t part.
If it’s not meant to be, it can’t be forced.
At this time, Gia also got out of bed. She had the habit of going to the courtyard for fresh air before breakfast to invigorate her mind.
As soon as she arrived in the courtyard, her gaze fell on the row of houses not far away. Through her observations over time, she realized no one lived there, but servants came to clean every day.
Her continuous consumption of herbal medicine made her memory somewhat confused, yet her recollections of the house deepened, giving her an inexplicable sense of familiarity as if she’d lived there before.
To figure out what was going on, Gia decided to take a look inside today; the door was open.
So, she stepped forward. The courtyard was delightful, with artificial mountains and flowing water, flowers in full bloom.
"Good morning, Miss Gia." The house’s hall was open, and a servant cleaning inside respectfully greeted her.
"Hello, may I come in to have a look?" Her voice was gentle, filled with both anticipation and something like pleading.
The servant thought for a moment, "Come in, as long as you don’t damage anything inside. You’re welcome to look around."
"Thank you." Gia stepped forward, crossing the threshold into the hall, which was so clean and neat it made one feel comfortable.
The air was filled with a subtle fragrance, "Is it lilies?" She scanned around but didn’t see any flowers.
"Yes." The servant said, "Lilies are placed in the bedroom; it’s the girl’s favorite scent."
"The girl?" Gia turned her gaze.
The maid’s expression changed slightly, realizing she might have misspoken, mentioning a sensitive topic for The Xavier Family.
Seeing the servant’s apprehension, Gia didn’t press further; that row of houses undoubtedly held a mysterious allure.
"May I... go in and have a look?" Gia felt increasingly familiar with this place, seeming to step into another world, and she assured, "I promise I won’t touch anything."
As a servant of The Xavier Family, everyone knew Gia was favored by Mr. Xavier and Mrs. Xavier.
She was gentle and kind-hearted.
Anyone who interacted with her knew that even towards servants, she was humble and courteous.
"Alright, take your time. I need to clean the table; I’ll be gone in half an hour." Thus, the servant made the decision independently and agreed.
"Thank you." Gia felt full of gratitude, and following her memory, she headed towards the bedroom.
Her steps were light, her heart filled with reverence.
At this moment, Rhiannon arrived at her residence. Just as she entered the main room, she only saw Old Mr. Downey, with a basket on his back, preparing to head out to gather herbs, "Good morning, sir."
"Good morning, Miss Xavier."
"Where’s Gia?" She asked kindly with a smile, "Has she not gotten up yet?" and glanced towards the bedroom.
This girl must be driven out of The Xavier Family before her brother comes and proposes!
