When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 931: Not in the Mood for a Birthday Banquet
Argent.
Ever since that day Milo Turner was encountered by his brother-in-law Adrian Lancaster in the bar and taken back home.
He began to walk the straight path, no longer causing trouble, carefully choosing his friends, and poured his heart into his studies.
Yet even with this, Adrian Lancaster’s people still secretly kept an eye on him.
Knowing that his wife cared deeply for this younger brother, Milo must not go astray.
Otherwise, he wouldn’t be able to explain to his wife.
Even if Faye never returns, decades later, when he dies and meets Faye in heaven, he must still account for everything properly.
He must nurture her brother well and take care of her mother.
Adrian Lancaster really is very responsible; he recently brought Chloe Gable to The Lancaster Family, under the guise that he hoped she could help take care of Joy.
"Mom, I’m always worried about leaving the child with outsiders." He said this to her, "So could you help me take care of Joy, please?"
Of course, Chloe Gable agreed.
It turned out that during the day, when she helped take care of the child, the child’s smile could heal most of her internal wounds, making her less depressed.
Lately, besides being busy with work, Adrian Lancaster has had another matter to deal with.
In the Prestige Group, in the president’s office.
Dustin Shepherd received a call, and after listening to the content, he gently furrowed his brow and put down the phone.
A moment later, as the president entered, Dustin said, "President Lancaster, just now... the old man called."
"What did grandfather say?" Adrian Lancaster asked as he walked forward holding a document, then sitting down in his office chair.
Dustin stood up and came to his side, reporting quietly, "The old man said he’s not in the mood to celebrate his eightieth birthday, and he told me not to plan anything."
Adrian Lancaster remained calm, "Arrange it as I instructed; has the guest list been compiled?" he asked, looking up.
"It has been compiled and sent to your email."
"Good, once I confirm the list, you can make the invitations and send them out; don’t worry about what grandfather says, I’ll go home and persuade him."
"Alright." Dustin felt quite apprehensive; the old man had a stubborn temper—could he really be persuaded?
That afternoon, the Lamborghini left the company and drove towards The Lockwood Old Manor, indeed Adrian Lancaster returned home.
He organized his words along the way... unaware of why he had to hold this birthday banquet, but subconsciously, he felt it must be done.
In the living room, seeing this familiar car, Caleb Lancaster and Eliza Hayes hurried out to greet him—
"Adrian!"
"Son!"
"Father, Mother." After getting out of the car, he adjusted his suit and stepped towards the couple, appearing in good spirits, with a smile on his face.
But his parents felt a pang of sadness, both could sense his sorrow.
"We just came from your place." Eliza Hayes told him, "Today, Joy started calling me Grandma, I even recorded a little video of it." Saying this, she took out her phone and played the video for her son to see.
"Grandma! Grandma! Grandma!"
In the video, the little one snuggled in her mother’s arms, joyously waving hands and feet! Her voice was adorably soft.
Watching this, Adrian Lancaster’s heart melted once again, his mood lifted significantly.
"Is grandfather home?" he asked as he walked inside with his parents, his intention today being to find grandfather.
"The old man is in his study upstairs, he guessed you would come today, but his mood is somewhat... not very good." Caleb Lancaster reminded him.
After entering the living room, Adrian Lancaster stepped towards the stairs, ready to face and persuade his grandfather.
The door to the study was open, the old man stood by the window, leaning on a dragon-headed cane, his gaze fixed on the Lamborghini parked in the yard.
From the car pulling in and stopping, to him getting out—all these images fell into the grandfather’s eyes.
The old man’s face was heavy, he heard footsteps, then the room fell into silence, as if the sound of each other’s breathing could be heard.
Leaning on his cane, grandfather turned and looked at his beloved grandson close at hand, his attitude was clear, "Adrian, I’m not in the mood to hold a birthday party."
