When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 921: Taking the Initiative to Find Him
As an outsider, Gia now knew the secret of the Xavier Family, and she couldn’t help but feel a bit of dread.
She must not reveal anything when facing the Xavier Family in the future.
But Lake told her—
"Everyone in the Xavier Family knows about this. Any servant who’s worked here for a few years has heard that although Mr. and Mrs. Xavier treat Miss Rhiannon as their own, they could never replace the position of their biological daughter in their hearts, so that row of houses has always been kept."
Of course, one is biological, and the other is adopted.
"Even now, twenty years later, the Xavier Family has not stopped searching for the true Miss Xavier."
Lake also told her—
"That row of houses was where Miss Xavier lived as a child. The study, the bedroom, the tea room, the rest area, everything is exactly the same, and someone cleans them every day. Mr. and Mrs. Xavier always believe that one day, Miss Xavier will come back."
That’s truly a sad story.
Those were Miss Xavier’s rooms, but... why does she feel so familiar with them?
Gia even wondered for a moment if she could be the lost Miss Xavier.
The idea was too ridiculous! She couldn’t tell anyone because whoever knew would think she’d stayed too long and assumed the role of the master, lost in wishful thinking.
But once she calmed down, Gia also felt she was overthinking it. How could she be Miss Xavier?
She needed to cooperate with the treatment, recover her memory, and return to her original position as soon as possible.
Yet that long-lost, familiar feeling always haunted her... she wondered if she’d watched too many ancient dramas before.
Recently, she’d been taking the traditional medicine prescribed by the old gentleman. There wasn’t much progress in memory recovery, but her physical condition was getting better and better.
She still remembered she had a daughter, who wasn’t very old; she was a young mother.
She had no memory of the child’s father.
She also remembered an ancient mansion, solemn and imposing, with a very large lawn in front and a tall, lush camphor tree engraved deeply in her mind.
The scenery... the memory was too deep, not knowing if it was a scene etched by amnesia or remnants from a past life.
"Lake." She turned to look at the girl beside her, "Do you know where Young Master Xavier lives? I want to... find him."
"Now?"
"Mm-hmm." Lake nodded, somehow thinking she matched well with Young Master Xavier, "Shall we go? I’ll take you!"
So Gia followed Lake and left this courtyard. They walked along the bluestone path, heading in another direction...
This was also Gia’s first time leaving this area. After turning a corner, a sense of enlightenment arose. The Xavier Estate couldn’t just be described as large; it was somewhat complex and intricate.
The luxury and scale far exceeded her imagination. The ancient buildings were quaint, with breezes blowing and the faint fragrance of flowers.
After only five or six minutes of walking, Lake brought her to a house. The two crossed a tall threshold and stepped into a smooth courtyard paved with bluestones. The servants in the yard turned their eyes towards them upon hearing the noise.
"Is the young master here? Miss Gia has something to discuss with him." Lake directly stated her purpose.
"He’s upstairs," a servant replied, then led the way, taking them inside.
The servant turned her head as she walked, unable to resist taking another look at the girl in the traditional-style long dress. She had heard about her; two months ago, the Xavier Family rescued this girl, saving her life. She had amnesia... and was given the name Gia by the lady of the house.
Unexpectedly, she turned out to be so beautiful, almost like a fairy, attracting extra glances from people.
Noticing the servant’s gaze, Gia felt slightly embarrassed. She smiled gently, exuding grace and composure, without any airs.
No sooner had they entered the main hall than Nathan Xavier appeared at the staircase corner. Upon seeing who had entered, he paused, slightly surprised.
As everyone’s eyes gathered on him, the servant quickly reported, "Young Master, Miss Gia wishes to see you."
"Hello, Young Master." Lake quickly gave a respectful greeting.
"Hello, Young Master Xavier." Gia’s smile was gentle, indeed a bit presumptuous, making her feel somewhat sorry.
Nathan Xavier stepped down the stairs, exuding a mild aura, "Is there something you need?" hoping he could assist her.
"I want... to borrow your computer." Only then did Nathan remember, didn’t she have a phone yet?
