When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 822: Whose Child Is This?
"You go ahead and stay busy." She knew that his time was money. "We’ll just get a taxi ourselves later."
Before the college entrance exams, she had already taken up too much of his time.
"That works too." Adrian Lancaster didn’t want to push too hard. It’s better for everyone to discuss things, and life wouldn’t feel so constrained.
Soon after hanging up the phone, he called his wife.
He told Faye about it and asked her to prepare a menu if she had time, informing the kitchen to make the arrangements.
"Then why don’t you invite Grandpa?" Faye Turner, being a considerate girl, suggested, "Are you going to pick him up?"
"Sure."
"Should we also invite Chase and Rachel?"
Adrian Lancaster thought it was a great idea. "Sure, let’s have a family gathering."
Faye was very happy. "I’ll call Rachel then."
"Okay."
So tonight, for the Lancasters, it was another small, warm gathering.
The presence of Rachel and Chase made it even more lively.
Caleb Lancaster and Eliza Hayes had already left Zephyrspire. They traveled south, enjoying the beautiful scenery along the way, living a blissful life and making video calls to the family once a week.
At dusk.
Mrs. Fletcher had just received a phone call from her son, saying that he wouldn’t be coming home for dinner tonight as he was going to The Lancaster Family.
Outside the villa, a taxi was parked. The door opened, and Jasmine Quinn, dressed beautifully, got out with two gift bags. "Thank you, driver. Take care!"
Looking at the grand villa before her, she couldn’t help but feel excited at the thought of marrying into the Fletcher Family, so she was extra polite to the taxi driver.
Upon reaching the door, the guard recognized her, greeting her politely, "Hello, Miss Quinn."
"Are my uncle and aunt home?"
"Yes," replied the guard as he opened the door for her.
Jasmine hummed a tune, happily stepping inside. This month, she was the top seller in the Fletcher Group’s sales department, and her uncle had praised her.
Wasn’t Chase also home today since he wasn’t working overtime?
Jasmine was hoping to get closer to him.
With these pleasant thoughts, she reached the villa’s living room door. "Auntie!"
The maid inside turned her head upon hearing the voice, hurrying to greet her, "Hello, Miss Quinn."
"Where’s my aunt?" Just as the girl spoke, Mrs. Fletcher, wearing a cheongsam, appeared, surprised and delighted to see her. "Jasmine, you’re here?"
"Hello, Auntie!" Jasmine warmly approached, handing her the gift. "I got this for you, just a small token. I hope you like it."
"There’s no need to be so formal, come whenever you like."
Jasmine glanced out the window and didn’t see Chase’s car. "Hasn’t Chase come back yet?"
She had specifically chosen a day when he wasn’t working overtime, hoping to have some time alone with him.
"He went to a friend’s house and will be back later." Mrs. Fletcher put the bag down and invited her to sit.
Friend’s house?
Jasmine couldn’t help thinking about his new female secretary. Could he be with her?
A bit of jealousy crept in.
Mrs. Fletcher smiled, saying, "Jasmine, have a seat. I’ll get some pastries for you. They’re freshly made this afternoon. Have a try." Having said that, she turned and left. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Jasmine also smiled, looking around at the grand living room of the Fletcher Family. She sat down on the expensive sofa.
At that moment, she heard the sound of a child.
Turning her head at the sound, she saw a little girl, about one or two years old, with two cute pigtails, wearing a princess dress and holding a rattle as she walked out.
Soon, a maid followed behind, bent slightly at the waist, ensuring the child’s safety.
This left Jasmine stunned. Where did this child come from? She stared blankly for a few seconds until the child came up to her, placing her hands on the edge of the sofa.
Jasmine looked at the child, then at the maid beside her, her heart skipping a beat, her face pale as she asked, "Whose child is this?"
