Chapter 814: Chapter 814: That "President Fletcher" Sounded a Bit Harsh

Rachel Sherman, as a former journalist, has quite strong resilience.

So the things she inadvertently overheard in the bathroom this morning didn’t particularly affect her mood.

She came here to work, not to get involved in internal conflicts, but to help Chase Fletcher alleviate pressure.

Therefore, back in the office, she quickly immersed herself in work again.

At the beginner’s stage, taking notes in a notebook is indeed better than relying on memory.

Around 11:30 a.m., Chase Fletcher, after signing a contract with a client at the club, prepared to return with the executives.

"President Fletcher, won’t you join us for a meal?" The other party had made the arrangements and invited again with sincerity.

"No, thank you." Chase Fletcher’s expression was gentle, his face sincere, "Pleasant cooperation, I have some matters to handle at the company, next time it’s on me."

Hearing him say this, the other party couldn’t insist on keeping him, assuming he had other matters to attend to.

After all, with a person of his status, time is money.

"Take care, President Fletcher."

"Goodbye."

Chase Fletcher was in a hurry to get back to the company, of course, because of Rachel.

Today was her first day at work, and he hadn’t had the time to accompany her, fearing she might not adapt well.

Upon returning to the CEO’s office, it was almost lunchtime.

"President Fletcher." Ben Fletcher greeted him properly and then picked up a document and walked towards him.

Rachel also glanced up and greeted him, "President Fletcher."

In this office, their relationship was superior-subordinate, and the necessary courtesies were to be maintained.

However, this "President Fletcher" sounded unpleasant to Chase Fletcher’s ears, making his brows knit slightly. As he passed Rachel’s desk, he paused and turned his gaze to look at her.

Rachel met his gaze, slightly taken aback, not understanding what his expression meant.

Chase Fletcher didn’t say anything, quickly withdrew his gaze, and walked towards his desk.

Accepting the file Ben handed over, he sat down in the chair, casually opened it, and listened to Ben’s report—

"The progress of the Cove Serein Resort project is detailed here; the first and second phases can be completed ahead of schedule, and the land acquisition from the villagers has reached consensus, demolition soon to follow."

"Did President Lancaster raise the compensation? How come it’s going so smoothly? The villagers suddenly agreed?" Chase Fletcher questioned.

Ben replied, "Not sure about the specifics; it was handled by President Lancaster. It’s said he visited each household personally, and later the villagers collectively agreed. The signing process went smoothly, and there’s been no change on the expense sheet, nor have we received any notifications about needing extra funds."

Chase Fletcher nodded thoughtfully; Adrian Lancaster is indeed generous, not caring about money in matters he wants to pursue.

After signing the documents, he closed them and handed them back to Ben, then looked up at him, quietly reminding, "Alright, you can go have your lunch."

From the CEO’s gaze, Ben couldn’t miss that he was being ushered out to let them enjoy some alone time.

"Alright, I’m quite hungry." Ben smiled, turned, and left. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

Rachel had also heard about the Cove Serein Resort project just now and recalled that night when Faye Turner and President Lancaster visited the Fletcher Family together.

And then... President Lancaster suddenly initiated a conversation with Mr. Fletcher about this project.

At that time, Mr. Fletcher was in a very good mood, exuding a kind of amiability Rachel had never seen before.

Rachel wasn’t foolish; she knew Mr. Fletcher agreed to her being with Chase because he valued her potential.

And that project was something President Lancaster could do or not do, but for her sake, he chose to collaborate with the Fletcher Group.

Rachel owes Faye a massive favor, one she would always remember.
