Soon, several police officers arrived.
"Take him away, this man is attempting murder! He targeted the mother-to-be and the child!" The old man angrily accused.
"Grandfather..." The man lying on the ground felt a wave of fear in his eyes and, after glancing at the enraged elder, dared not plead for himself again.

The old man raised his head with a calm face, "Do you know what your son did? He hired people to kidnap Faye! Wanted to put Faye and the child in grave danger!"
Melanie’s astonishment was apparent to Adrian Lancaster, along with the subtle changes in her expression.
So, regarding this matter, the aunt likely didn’t know.
"..." Facing his father’s furious eyes, Melanie was speechless, yet, as a mother, she couldn’t help but worry about her son.
Thus, she said tearfully, "Dad, was Brandon taken away by the police? Isn’t Faye and the child alright? Then what crime did Brandon commit?"
The old man didn’t want to pay her attention, maintaining a calm face as he withdrew his gaze, picking up the cup to drink some tea to calm his nerves.
