When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 557: Finally Meeting Face to Face
But after just five minutes, she changed her outfit, did a little bit of grooming in front of the mirror, then grabbed her car keys and left.
She didn’t have to work today, nor did she need to go to the studio. She missed Byron Moss, so she planned to go to the town to find him.
She set the navigation for Fenmore Town, which showed a drive of 1 hour and 23 minutes. However, she didn’t feel the distance was far; on the contrary, the mood of being able to rush towards him was thrilling and exhilarating.
Even the air seemed to be filled with the sweet scent of happiness.
It was snowing; the roads weren’t easy to drive on.
Thus, she didn’t drive fast, kept the heater on in the car, and played some of her favorite music.
The lyrics were quite fitting—
"Searching for the fallen-wing dry leaves butterfly, never seeing its withering."
"Under the southern night, the small bridges and eaves don’t understand the northern barren lands. Plum blossoms in loneliness, only to quickly fade away after spring returns..."
"Whether it’s snowing on the broken bridge, I gaze at the lake, the cold moon in the water like snow, gently melting; whether it’s snowing again on the broken bridge, again it reminds me of your face..."
The car happened to pass by a lake, with plum blossoms blooming along the sides, branches hung with snow.
The scene was breathtakingly beautiful.
Her mind was filled with the image of Byron.
About one and a half hours later, Kylie’s car finally reached Fenmore Town.
This small town wasn’t big, its center had just two intersecting streets. There was a high school and a middle school on the town, and the place had a decent population of ordinary people.
Kylie didn’t know the exact location, so she slowed down the car, keeping an eye on both sides as she searched for the shop offering calligraphy classes.
Such places, even in a town, wouldn’t be numerous.
With a little bit of time, it would be easy to find one, especially since their signs would surely be noticeable.
Sure enough, as the car turned left, she saw a uniquely designed self-built small building not far away, its sign straightforwardly said - Byron Academy.
She felt a surge of joy, turned on the indicator, and happily parked her car outside his shop.
Then she quickly got out of the car and made her way towards the academy.
As she stepped through the glass door, she saw Byron, dressed in a grey casual suit, conversing with a few men.
She didn’t go up to interrupt, choosing instead to stand at a distance.
Byron noticed her while he was communicating with the others; their gazes met, but he didn’t abandon the conversation for her, continuing it instead.
"Mr. Moss, we understand your instructions. Rest assured, the desks will be delivered tomorrow, and it won’t delay the students’ start of the term."
"Alright, thank you for your hard work."
Byron shook hands with the men one by one before they waved goodbye and left.
Once everyone had gone, Byron’s gaze finally landed on Kylie, and he walked towards her.
He remained gentle and cultured, "What brings you here?"
His tone carried no scold nor surprise, just a calm question.
Snowflakes still rested on Kylie’s hair and shoulders, her outfit was quite light today as well. Byron noticed her and immediately adjusted the heater inside to a warmer temperature.
Watching his silhouette grabbing the remote, she simply smiled foolishly.
Byron adjusted the room temperature, then came over and brushed the snow off her shoulders and hair, as she stood in close proximity to him, his grey outfit seemingly radiating a dazzling light.
Kylie instinctively moved forward, gently wrapped her arms around his waist, and pressed her cheek against his warm chest.
Byron was momentarily stunned, raising his hands in mid-air, frozen. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
"Byron, please remember that when I look for you, it’s because I explosively miss you; when I don’t look for you, it’s because I’m holding back from missing you."
