Chapter 497: Chapter 497: What’s Wrong? Are You Unhappy?

"Why are you investigating these things?" Dustin asked with some caution and concern, "Has something happened?"

Faye met his gaze and fell into deep thought.

Dustin couldn’t help but feel tense, watching her intently. It was clear she was carrying this burden alone since not even President Lancaster was informed.

Dustin really wanted to share some of the burden, even if it was full of danger.

"If... you’re willing to trust me, I’d be very willing to help you share this," Dustin said from his heart. He still liked her and was full of concern for her.

Faye, however, maintained her boundaries. She shook her head and refused, "I’m sorry, Dustin. The things I haven’t told Adrian, if I were to tell you first, I think... it wouldn’t be good. It would hurt Adrian, too."

Upon hearing this, Dustin understood but couldn’t help feeling a bit dejected.

"Understood," he asked no more, his voice gentle, "Give me half a day. I’ll help you investigate."

"Thank you."

"You’re welcome." Dustin felt honored to be thought of when she needed help. "Is there anything else?"

The girl shook her head, "Not for now, thank you for your hard work."

Dustin nodded, a bit busy today, holding files in his hands.

So, he told her, "I’ll be leaving then. Wait for my call."

"Okay."

Watching Dustin’s back as he left, Faye believed in his ability to get things done. There would soon be results.

Still, after 20 years, even if they got those dossiers and medical records, finding clues wouldn’t be easy.

As long as there was hope, Faye wouldn’t give up.

Today, Rachel Sherman went house hunting. Unable to stand Dylan Shaw’s harassment, she was eager to move out.

She looked at five properties in one go, some recommended by friends, others she had picked out herself. She compared them all, considering factors like June’s schooling in a few years.

She ended up liking a property called "Boyer Estate." She was very satisfied with all aspects, but due to regulations, she wasn’t eligible to buy a house.

This made her feel quite disappointed. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

She spent half a day pleading with the sales office, but the saleslady politely told her, "Miss Sherman, under your circumstances, it will be at least half a year before you can purchase our house. Since you just divorced, we only sell to married couples."

"But by then the floors I’m interested in will definitely be gone!" Rachel was anxious, "Can’t there be some flexibility? Or another solution? In today’s society, divorce is commonplace, isn’t it?"

"I’m sorry, but that’s our policy. We have our regulations."

For the first time, Rachel felt that divorce had impacted her life, to the point where she couldn’t buy her desired house.

Just as she was somewhat dejectedly walking out—

Outside, a black Volvo was parked in front of the sales office.

Two people quickly got out of the car, respectfully welcoming the man inside.

Chase Fletcher stepped out of the car. Today, he wore a black suit, his tall physique strong and robust, exuding nobility and pride.

"President Fletcher."

Chase raised his eyes, just about to step forward, when his gaze met Rachel’s. They were less than four meters apart.

Today, Rachel felt less composed than usual upon seeing him. She was even a bit embarrassed and looked away, intending to leave.

"Rachel!" Chase snapped back to attention, quickly stepped forward, and stood in front of her, speaking warmly, "Rachel, what’s wrong? Are you unhappy?"

His first concern was not what she was doing there, but his instinctive concern for her mood.
