When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 494: Forcing Her into a Blind Date
Since President Lancaster specifically mentioned it, the front desk assistant recognized Byron Moss as soon as she saw him with the suitcase.
She hurried over to ask, "Hello, are you here to deliver the calligraphy work?"
"Yes," Byron replied politely, "Mr. Moss’s writing."
The front desk assistant beamed and extended her hand, "President Lancaster is busy right now, give it to me."
"Alright."
Just as the two were exchanging the suitcase, Kylie Fletcher’s voice came over—
"Let go of me, I don’t want to go on a blind date! I won’t go on a blind date!!" She was highly resistant!
Byron turned at the sound, only to see a middle-aged man holding Kylie by the shoulder, insisting on taking her out.
And Kylie, disregarding the setting, struggled fiercely—
"Dad, I’m begging you, I don’t want to go on a blind date! I don’t want to meet Evan Sharp! I don’t want to marry him! I don’t want to be a sacrifice in a business alliance!"
Mr. Fletcher’s face changed, "What did you say? Sacrifice who?! Lawyer Sharp is so excellent, how many girls are breaking their necks trying to marry him!"
"Then let them break their necks!"
"You...! Hurry up and come with me! No matter what, this date has to happen today!"
The girl was obviously frightened by her father’s persistence, and realized that no one could save her today, not even Adrian Lancaster who minded his own business earlier.
"The meeting has been set, even if it’s just to deal with it, you’ve got to go today!"
Mr. Fletcher insisted on his decision, pulling his daughter outside—
"I didn’t stop you from entering the entertainment industry, so can’t you just go along with me on this?"
Kylie struggled and unintentionally raised her eyes, meeting Byron Moss’s deep and calm gaze—
In the magnificent hall, the two met eyes!
The girl seemed to be frozen.
In her eyes was disbelief, but deep inside she was unbearably sad, with countless words to say, yet she had no standing.
Even their WeChat was only connected this morning, right?
Thinking about this relationship was already heart-wrenching.
Byron dressed in white, stood in the hall, with a deep, steady expression that gave Kylie an involuntary fondness.
"Let’s go, the car is waiting outside!" Mr. Fletcher pulled his daughter outside.
Kylie stopped struggling, gritted her teeth, shifted her gaze, and agreed to her father, "Alright, alright, I’ll go to the blind date with you!" She emphasized the words ’blind date’, hoping to see Byron’s reaction.
Byron just watched the father and daughter, too calm, as if without emotion, as if out of place with the rest of the world, still immersed in his calligraphy kingdom.
Kylie looked at him, her eyes filled with resentment and reluctance.
Mr. Fletcher led his daughter away.
Byron’s expression remained calm; he slowly turned his eyes, watching them leave.
Kylie’s heart turned cold, instantly exhausted.
As a top-notch lawyer, Evan Sharp was undoubtedly very busy, with all sorts of cases, as clients specifically asked for him to handle them.
Just because Evan Sharp never lost a case.
Of course, he didn’t take on every case, as there were many that his subordinates could handle just as well, no point in overextending him.
In some coffee shop.
Evan sat in formal attire by the window, a thick pile of documents spread out before him, sipping coffee while attentively flipping through them in between tasks.
Assistant Shawn stood by, seeing a car pull up outside, and when the car door opened revealing Miss Fletcher getting out, he finally put his hand on his forehead and reminded, "Lawyer Sharp, you have a blind date today, can you put work aside for now? The person is here."
"Work is more important than relationships, there’s no point in pretending otherwise," Evan replied without looking up, "Lots of clients are waiting for results, if it’s not affecting your interests, you’re not anxious."
"I..." Shawn was considering his well-being, right?
After all, this blind date with Miss Fletcher was something his grandmother was keeping an eye on; going on like this might ruin things.
Outside, Mr. Fletcher didn’t get out, just watched his daughter exit the car, instructing, "Go in, Lawyer Sharp’s grandmother really likes you; if possible, have lunch with him at their home this afternoon."
Once Kylie got out, she looked around, wondering if Byron had followed them! Had she gambled and lost again?
"Hurry inside, what are you standing around for?" Mr. Fletcher urged, thinking if his daughter could marry Evan Sharp, any future company lawsuits would be in the bag.
