Chapter 263: Chapter 263: Both Have Let Go

Prestige Group, a landmark building in Argent, is a series of high-rise buildings with light tea-colored glass facades, reflecting the blue skies and white clouds above.

Today the weather is perfect.

This place holds the dreams of countless young people. In the big office of the design department, Faye Turner has taken a break from her work.

Thinking about the exclusive interview Rachel Sherman wants to do, she feels a bit pressured and suddenly doesn’t know how to bring it up.

After much hesitation, she finally decides to send Adrian Lancaster a WeChat message about this.

So she composed the message, revising it to remove some unnecessary words, leaving only the important and effective information.

As she clicked the send button, a slight tension surged inside her.

She knows the request is somewhat unreasonable.

After sending the message, she held her phone and waited for a response but received none.

Another five minutes passed...

She wondered if he was busy?

Thus, Faye began to refocus on her work, and every time her phone rang, her heart would surge with warmth.

But when she picked it up to check, it wasn’t a message from him.

Staring at the screen, she felt a bit disappointed...

Did he see it?

Faye speculated about his thoughts; her mind was somewhat chaotic and torn.

She even regretted sending the message.

Had she misread her role once again?

Was she bothering him?

Because of her fondness, because of love, she had become sensitive and cautious.

An entire day passed, and Adrian Lancaster still hadn’t replied to her WeChat message.

Faye felt unsettled, convinced that he had seen it and intentionally didn’t respond. He couldn’t be so busy that he hadn’t checked his phone all day.

In the afternoon, as she left the company by bus, her mood was quite gloomy.

He actually didn’t reply... chose to ignore it, even if it was a rejection, her heart might feel a bit better, right?

Today was quite peculiar.

The clinic without a signboard had changed its opening hours to the afternoon because Dr. Aiken was unavailable in the morning.

When Faye received this news, she headed straight to the clinic after work.

She was fortunate enough to get in line, only to discover that a familiar figure was standing before her behind a stranger.

That person also saw her.

Their eyes met...

Serena Sutton quickly regained composure, her lips slightly curved, "Are you here for a check-up too?" she asked kindly.

Faye nodded, "Yes, got to pick up some medicine."

"Me too, I’ve been suffering from insomnia, lack of energy, feel dizzy after standing for long," Serena was happy to share.

Out of courtesy, Faye kept a smile and listened.

"There’s a really nice bubble tea shop nearby, I’ll go get us two cups," Serena said and ran off before Faye could stop her.

About five minutes later, she returned with two cups of bubble tea, "Here you go!"

"Thanks." Faye accepted it graciously, sensing no malice from her.

Even though she was pregnant, avoiding junk food, she knew that having it occasionally wasn’t a big deal. Bodies aren’t as fragile as imagined.

Thus, when Serena inserted the straw, Faye did the same and took a sip, "The taste is quite nice."

This made Serena very happy, "Great, right? I saw this place on Little Red Book, same with this clinic, heard this doctor is really skilled!"

"Uh-huh." Faye reminded, "Here for the first time, right? This Dr. Aiken, not only is he highly skilled but... his tongue can be sharp, communicate cautiously."

"Oh? Really?" Serena showed interest, "I’ve read such comments too, made me laugh so much at midnight."

Faye, sipping her bubble tea, gazed at her, feeling she truly seemed like a different person.

Having gone through some things, they both found solace, and mistakes were corrected, there’s nothing unforgivable.

"Are you pregnant?" Serena smiled, "Congratulations to both of you."
