When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 232: The Down-to-Earth President Lancaster
Today’s lunch, Adrian Lancaster decided to take Faye Turner to Chloe Gable’s place to eat.
He actually held a bit of personal interest, wanting to interact more with Chloe Gable, to see if he could recall anything.
Adrian Lancaster always felt that he must have met Chloe Gable somewhere before.
He didn’t know why, but it was as if his mind had suddenly short-circuited, and he just couldn’t remember.
Actually, that sense of déjà vu had always haunted him.
When Faye Turner heard his proposal, she was dumbfounded, momentarily thinking she had misheard.
"It’s a matter of courtesy," Adrian Lancaster’s voice was gentle, "If we eat out, I’m worried your mom might feel uncomfortable, so I think we should buy some groceries and cook at her place."
Oh my, is this really Adrian Lancaster?
Faye Turner quickly came back to her senses, "Okay, as you say!" She was very happy, truly seeing a good husband.
Then, they arrived at the fresh food section of the market, and Adrian Lancaster’s demeanor really stood in stark contrast to the surroundings, quite mismatched.
But he didn’t care about this sense of being out of place at all; he became very down-to-earth.
The vendors in the market were all ordinary people striving for their livelihood, waking early and working late, caring only for the prices of meat and rice, completely indifferent to the news, let alone the affairs of high society.
In other words, when they saw Adrian Lancaster, they didn’t know who he was; they only thought he was well-dressed and good-looking.
"How much are the tilapia fish?" Adrian Lancaster came to the fish pond, looked at the lively jumping fish, and raised his eyes to ask the vendor.
"Ten yuan per kilo, young man, no bargaining!" The vendor was a plump middle-aged woman, looking at him, then at Faye Turner beside him, "You two really match well! The more I look, the more you resemble a married couple! You can act on TV!"
"Thank you." Adrian Lancaster was quite polite, pointing into the pond, "Let’s take this one!"
"Alright!"
The vendor used a net to scoop up the fish, then slammed it a few times on the cement floor, quickly dazing the fish in the net.
Although Faye Turner ate meat, seeing this scene, she still felt quite cruel.
"Don’t harbor a saintly mind; since we’ve evolved to the top of the food chain, eating some meat is necessary." Adrian Lancaster explained in a gentle tone.
"Indeed." The girl beside him glanced at him, smiled, and asked, "With so many fish here, why buy this kind?"
The man turned to ask her, "You’ve never eaten it, have you?"
She nodded, honestly saying, "Not only haven’t I eaten it, I’ve never even heard of it."
"Alright, let me enlighten you." He spoke warmly, "Because it has very few bones, the meat is delicious, and it’s high in protein." After a pause, he glanced at her and added softly, "It’s quite suitable for pregnant women."
Meet his profound and gentle gaze, Faye Turner smiled beautifully, "Why do you even understand fish?"
Seeing her admiration, he felt no sense of superiority, "Now you understand too; I just learned a bit earlier than you."
She suddenly felt that learning had no limits.
After buying the fish, they also purchased some steaks, green vegetables, and seasonings needed for cooking.
Adrian Lancaster indeed hadn’t cooked before, even a bowl of dumplings would boil over, but later he secretly researched how to cook and was quite perceptive.
Around noon.
Eliza Hayes finally arrived at The Azure Cloud Convent and met that legendary old Taoist master.
As the saying goes: When times are chaotic, Taoists come down the mountain to save the world; when times are prosperous, they retreat to deep mountains, and seeing him is truly difficult.
The old Taoist master, around seventy, dressed simply, holding a dust whisk.
Knowing she was Old Master Lancaster’s daughter-in-law, he had someone make tea and led her to a quiet spot in the backyard.
"Hello, Mrs. Lancaster." The Taoist master was very polite, his words showing great respect for her.
