When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 230: Asking About His First Love
Serena Sutton was frightened, fearing he might say something, so she hurriedly explained—
"Assistant Shepherd, I think you’ve really misunderstood. I went to see Grandpa to apologize, to ask for his forgiveness."
However, Dustin Shepherd didn’t believe her words at all.
No matter how Serena Sutton tried to explain, he ultimately warned coldly, "Don’t try to ruin the relationship between President Lancaster and Mrs. Lancaster, or you’ll be shooting yourself in the foot."
"I really didn’t." Serena Sutton was anxious.
Dustin Shepherd left, leaving Serena Sutton standing in place, feeling a gloominess, always sensing her job might be in jeopardy.
Dustin Shepherd couldn’t directly protect Faye Turner or cherish her for a lifetime, but in this life, he would certainly try his hardest to keep her safe!
If anyone wanted to harm Faye Turner, he would be the first to disagree!
Night fell.
The Lamborghini had just stopped downstairs at Aqua Flora Residences, and Mr. Kerr opened the car door, allowing Adrian Lancaster and Faye Turner to get out.
Facing the night breeze, Faye Turner turned her gaze to him, "Would you like to take a walk in the garden? I have something to tell you."
Under the street lamp, Adrian Lancaster turned his gaze towards her. Though she was pregnant, she was still so pure and beautiful, with very good skin.
A breeze blew, and he could smell the faint scent of traditional medicine on her.
He didn’t respond, merely started walking along the small path beside them.
Faye Turner followed, always torn by the thought that she might be a substitute.
This man, with his perfectly tailored black handcrafted suit, always showcased his flawless physique to the fullest.
With his status and position, so many women fell for him; why had Sienna Dawson chosen to leave him?
Faye Turner always had this doubt.
"Ivy Jennings went to study in Germany, and before she left, she bought me a bouquet of tulips, the pink ones in your study." She spoke calmly, initiating the evening’s topic.
Upon hearing this, Adrian Lancaster wasn’t surprised; he opened his lips indifferently, "What else did she say?"
Faye Turner placed her hands in the pockets of her coat, staying by his side, "She asked me to tell you that those reporters really weren’t contacted by her, and she didn’t expect such things to happen."
The man was silent, as though these matters were now unimportant.
"She really likes you." Faye Turner turned her gaze, observing his expression as she walked, "She doesn’t want you to still misunderstand her after she leaves."
"It doesn’t matter." Adrian Lancaster, hands in his pockets, continued walking.
Walking beside him, after a long time had passed, Faye Turner gently spoke, "She also mentioned I look a lot like Sienna Dawson."
Upon hearing this, Adrian Lancaster stopped.
Faye Turner halted too, slightly turning her body, lifting her gaze to look up at him, "She said I look at least 70% similar to Miss Dawson."
In the moonlight and evening breeze, the girl’s lips curled into a beautiful arc, her eyes seemingly starry, "Is that so?"
Their eyes met, but he didn’t speak.
She smiled at him, he didn’t respond, yet sadness gradually appeared in her eyes.
"Adrian, I really want to ask you, are you willing to marry me merely because I look so much like her?" Her tone was relaxed, yet she was forcefully suppressing her heartache.
"No." The man’s gentle voice soothed her heartache slightly.
Faye Turner couldn’t help but step forward, wrapping her arms around his waist.
She gently laid her cheek against his chest, not fearing Ivy Jennings or Serena Sutton at all, because she knew Adrian wouldn’t be interested in them.
Listening to his heartbeat, thinking of Sienna Dawson filled her with particular sadness.
Adrian Lancaster slowly raised a hand to hug her gently; he intended to say something comforting, but it remained unsaid for a long time.
