When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 153: A Gift for the Child
Faye Turner froze and turned her gaze towards Adrian Lancaster beside her.
Adrian Lancaster had his hands in his pockets, silent, while Jami was still waiting for her response.
Faye Turner certainly knew she had to refuse, but her mind went blank, unsure of how to start, "Well... no need."
Jamil suddenly realized something too. He looked at President Lancaster, then at the girl beside him, recalling that she was his agreement dance partner.
Faye Turner felt very awkward, waiting for Adrian Lancaster to bail her out.
At that moment, Adrian Lancaster reached out to pull open the passenger door of the Lamborghini, "Get in." His voice was slightly cold.
But when he looked at Mr. Jamil, he smiled, his voice gentle, "I’ll take her back, it’s on my way."
Jamil understood, with a gentlemanly smile, "Alright." He nodded gently, "Then I’ll trouble President Lancaster."
After saying goodbye to Jami, Faye Turner sat in the passenger seat of the Lamborghini.
Adrian Lancaster closed the car door for her, waved at Jami, then got into the driver’s seat.
The Lamborghini soon drove away from in front of him.
It was already eight o’clock at night, and the night’s ambience was faint, clear, with no moon or stars.
Outside the car window was the city’s dazzling thousand lights, symbolizing prosperity, thriving upwards.
The car headed towards Aqua Flora Residences.
Adrian Lancaster didn’t speak, and Faye Turner didn’t know what to say either; in any case, the silence made her feel awkward.
So, she reached out to play a song, and soon, Eason Chan’s "Long Time No See" played in her ears...
"I come to your city, walk the roads you once took, imagining your lonely days without me..."
Faye Turner’s thoughts drifted away with the lyrics.
She recalled what her life was like before she met Adrian Lancaster.
She truly never thought she would get married, having been used to her foster parents’ quarrels, she held no hope for marriage.
Just as the car stopped in the neighborhood, Faye Turner and Adrian Lancaster got out and encountered a man in a black suit standing at the unit entrance, carrying a bag.
"Good evening, young master, young mistress." The man greeted them respectfully.
Faye Turner hadn’t seen him before and didn’t know who he was, so she glanced at Adrian Lancaster.
Then, he stepped towards him, his gaze falling on the bag in his hand, "What’s this?"
"The old master asked me to bring these over, some herbal medicines for the young mistress to take on time to boost her immunity."
Adrian Lancaster reached out and took them, "Alright, thank our grandfather for us."
"Okay." The man bowed and then turned to leave.
In the elevator, the more Faye Turner thought about it, the more something felt wrong. She took the bag from his hand and opened it to carefully check what the medicines were.
Atractylodes, astragalus, ramie root, wolfberry, dodder seed...
Exiting the elevator, she followed him into the apartment.
Faye Turner placed the bag on the table, then asked, "Did you tell grandfather?"
"Tell him what?" The man asked casually.
Faye Turner glared at her, a little angry, "These are all pregnancy-preserving medicines!"
Adrian Lancaster was taken aback, looking into her eyes which were filled with shock, he was genuinely innocent, "I didn’t say anything."
Their gazes met, and she believed what he said, "..." Blinking, Faye Turner felt greatly pressured.
Keeping this from grandfather, letting him worry tirelessly about her, she didn’t know if it was right, and grandfather was already getting on in years. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
"Alright, drink it if you want, if you don’t, just forget it." Adrian Lancaster said as he walked towards the study, "In life, the most important thing we should do is not to force ourselves."
She didn’t brew the medicine for now and also headed into her own study, because tonight she felt a strong urge to create.
She opened her computer and sat down at the desk, only feeling a flood of ideas.
The design from last time still had a lot of room for improvement. If last time was a five, then after the modifications this time, she felt it was at least a nine...
The surroundings were incredibly quiet, and she immersed herself in revising the manuscript.
The whole person looked calm, gentle, diligent, meticulous...
The design drafts on the TV screen switched one by one, not stunning, because they weren’t garish, but very appealing, just like her looks...
Even though she knew that eternity at first glance might be Adrian Lancaster’s promise to Sienna, she wanted to consider this work as a gift meeting her child.
She wanted to give the purest and truest love in this world to her and Adrian Lancaster’s child.
