When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 109: Mother-in-Law’s Attitude
The subordinates who followed along respectfully greeted the two young people, "Hello, young master and young mistress."
"Hello." Faye Turner was very polite, smiling as she looked at everyone.
Grandpa was very happy to see them, "Come, come, the kitchen is preparing dinner, today’s menu is different from the last time, a new cuisine has been introduced, I’m sure you’ll like it."
As they entered the main villa with the old man, Faye handed a bag in her hand to him, "Grandpa, this is milk pudding I personally baked, it’s so smooth, please try it!"
The old man quickly reached out to take it, "You’re so thoughtful, it’s still warm!" He was so happy he couldn’t close his mouth.
"Yes, it’s freshly made."
"Thank you, Faye, you’re such a considerate good child." Grandpa was exceptionally happy, he reached out to pat her head, his eyes filled with kindness and affection, and didn’t forget to glance at Adrian Lancaster, "Look at your wife, what a good girl!"
Adrian Lancaster’s expression was gentle, he raised the corners of his lips, saying nothing.
The girl still had two bags in her hand, after entering the living room, she said to the old man, "Grandpa, I’ll go to the backyard first and take some over to Aunt."
"You’re married to Adrian, why are you still calling her Aunt?" Grandpa was a bit unhappy, hurrying to correct her, "You should start calling her mom!"
Faye smiled without openly responding, then took steps forward.
Watching her bravely leave, Adrian Lancaster felt a faint worry in his heart, finally deciding to follow her to find out more.
The main villa was not far from the backyard, just a hundred or two hundred meters away.
Faye stepped onto the paved bluestone path in the middle of the lawn, heading towards the shrine, the large door was open, one could see the Buddha statues inside, but did not see Eliza Hayes’ silhouette.
As she entered the shrine, Nanny Warren was accompanying Eliza Hayes coming downstairs.
When Eliza Hayes saw Faye Turner, she stopped, her face which was originally cold and world-weary, became even more filled with dislike, her gaze cooled several degrees.
Nanny Warren also had to stop, she looked at Faye Turner, then turned her eyes towards Eliza Hayes.
"Hello Aunt, hello Nanny Warren." Faye stood there obediently, with a smile, lifting the bag in her hand, "This is the milk pudding I made for you, it’s still warm, hope you like it."
Eliza Hayes took steps forward, Nanny Warren followed suit.
Faye looked at them expectantly.
After coming downstairs, Eliza Hayes stood three meters away from her, silent, not moving forward.
Nanny Warren looked at Eliza Hayes again, hesitated several times, then reached out to take the bag, "Thank you, young mistress." Her voice was small, wanting to be respectful, yet before the lady she didn’t dare.
She was able to accept it, which made Faye very happy, "Then I’ll leave you to it, see you at dinner." After speaking, she stepped outside.
Until the sound of something being thrown reached her, her steps faltered, she turned to look, only to see Eliza Hayes standing beside the trash bin.
Nanny Warren and her hands were empty of the bags.
Faye was slightly stunned, looking at the trash bin intently, vaguely seeing the bag, then she raised her eyes to meet her mother-in-law’s cold and disgusted gaze.
Nanny Warren stood by the side, somewhat at a loss, wanting to explain, wishing to ease the atmosphere, but remained hesitant to speak.
Faye quickly returned to her senses, she turned and left, not having taken two steps, she encountered Adrian Lancaster.
From Adrian Lancaster’s angle, he could also see the food thrown in the trash bin, his stern face showed no extra expression.
Faye merely glanced at him, then bypassed him, stepping towards the main villa.
Her initiative to show goodwill was met with cold water, a feeling truly understood only by those who’ve experienced it.
Faye really didn’t understand, was this a case of disliking because of association? Everything stemmed from Adrian Lancaster.
What exactly happened between this mother and son?
She must find time to chat with Grandpa!
Maybe asking Grandpa could find a breakthrough.
When Faye came into the main villa, the old man pulled her to play chess, the girl smiled, feeling the timing was right, and gladly agreed.
