Ji Wang thought of his dad, a hint of a smile flashing in his eyes. "My dad introduced us."

"Even better," Director Xie said, slapping his thigh. "If your dad approves, then she must be the real deal. I know your father; he’s a good judge of character."

Director Xie finished changing and patted Ji Wang’s shoulder on his way out. "Go get her!"

Remembering Yi Ru was still waiting for him in the office, Ji Wang didn’t linger in the locker room. He threw on his white coat and ran to his office.

"Doctor Ji, are you out of surgery? You haven’t eaten yet, have you? This is some soup I made for my mom, but I accidentally made too much. Could you help me with some of it?" It was a sweet female voice. Just from the sound of it, Yi Ru pictured a sweet young woman.

The voice wasn’t loud, but this was an office area. In an instant, everyone’s ears perked up. The doctors inside the office, in particular, all turned to look at Yi Ru with burning intensity.

Yi Ru’s smile faded slightly, but then she smiled again. Remembering how Ji Wang had told her to come and stake her claim the previous night, she rose gracefully to her feet.

Yi Ru didn’t direct her words at the girl, just smiled. "Are you hungry? We agreed to have lunch together."

Ji Wang smiled too. "Okay, I’ll be over in a minute."

The girl bit her lip. "Doctor Ji, is she your girlfriend? How... how far have you two gone?"
