Zhao Zhao took a sip of tea. "Her brand commercials have always been filmed to an incredibly high standard. Major advertising agencies have studied her previous few commercials over and over, but they all reached the same consensus: they’re impossible to replicate."

Xu Yuchen was puzzled. "So, Brother Zhao... you don’t like her?"

Zhao Zhao glanced at Yi Ru again. "How could I not? I was captivated by her the last time we met, but she was too cold. Looking at her now, a lot of that iciness has melted away. I’m only more captivated now."

Sui Chao looked a little unhappy, but Zhao Zhao paid him no mind. He had already stood up and was heading in Yi Ru’s direction.

Yi Ru glanced into the distance and saw Sui Chao, Xu Yuchen, and Song Sen waving at her. She smiled. "But your friends are over there. Wouldn’t it be rude to just ditch them?"

Xu Yuchen ran over in just a few steps. "It’s fine! Yi Ru, you don’t mind a few more people, do you?"

The smile on Yi Ru’s face became a little more genuine. "Of course not. Please, have a seat."

Zhao Zhao smoothly sat down beside Yi Ru. "I heard Moran exclusively sponsored a dating show on TV. Congratulations."

Xu Yuchen was more direct. "So you were part of the reason that show got canceled?"

Yi Ru said, "Fifty-fifty, I’d say. Zhou Yan wanted to make a change too, so we discussed it, and the new show was born from that. But I remember you all quit the show a long time ago. How did you end up getting together now?"

"Aren’t you all from different cities?"

Sui Chao explained, "I opened a dance studio here, and Yuchen works here too. It’s just Brother Zhao, he’s a very busy man. It was hard enough for us to get together today. We usually don’t even see each other once a year."

Yi Ru understood. So today was a pure coincidence.

Zhao Zhao was also direct. "Have you dated anyone since the show?"

Seeing that Yi Ru was about to walk out of the tea house, Zhao Zhao abruptly stood up and followed her out in a few quick strides. He didn’t intend to demand an answer; he just wanted to see for himself if Yi Ru was just putting him on.

’Oh well. I guess I’ll go see Ji Wang then. As for these pastries, I’ll just consider them payment for using him as my shield.’
