Mu Ke chuckled and pushed her, Mu Xin pouted, "That’s because you’ve lost weight. You look taller only because you’re thinner."

This successfully drew Ms. Wang’s attention from where she was plating dishes. She teased, "Doctors are so busy, and nobody takes good care of him, of course he’ll lose weight."

Mu Ke didn’t reply, actually, the Mu Family had quite a few opinions on his choice to study medicine, but no one could change his mind.

Later, the Mu Family moved back to S City from B City. Ms. Wang wholeheartedly hoped her son would return to S City after graduation. Their roots were here, making it easier to arrange a job and find a girlfriend, but Mu Ke wasn’t willing. He went to B City without hesitation, which deepened the gap between mother and son.

"He went on a business trip the other day. He was supposed to come back yesterday but got delayed. He’ll be back by eight tonight."

Mu Ke nodded and didn’t say anything further. Because her son was back, Ms. Wang was in a great mood and greeted, "Ah Chen, eat more, you guys always eat outside, nothing beats home-cooked food."

Su Chen nodded repeatedly, "That’s right, that’s right, I’m so tired of eating out."

Ms. Wang smiled and handed a piece of rib to Su Chen, then looked at Mu Ke, "This pot of chicken soup was made because we knew you were coming back. Shanshan put in great effort early in the morning just to cook it. Taste it."

Yang Yushan, sitting right next to Mu Ke, smiled at Ms. Wang’s words, "My culinary skills aren’t great, I just made it casually."

Just as she finished speaking, Mu Xin interjected, "What’s wrong with it? It’s really delicious. I just snuck a big bowl myself."

Su Chen’s gaze shifted between Mu Xin, Ms. Wang, and Yang Yushan.

Everyone knew what was going on, even a fool could see it, especially someone as sharp as Su Chen. A playful smile appeared in his eyes.

Clearly, Ms. Wang was trying to promote Yang Yushan to her son.

Mu Ke smoothly took the bowl and politely said, "Thank you."

Then he turned and placed it next to Mu Xin, "Didn’t you say you like drinking it? Have more."

Mu Ke’s words sounded fine but were somewhat blunt. Su Chen struggled to suppress his laughter, and as soon as the meal was finished, he immediately dragged Mu Ke into his study room and burst into laughter.

Mu Ke coldly watched his friend. He might have a cold demeanor, but he wasn’t lacking in emotional intelligence, especially since he’s a high achiever with a degree in psychology. His own mother’s intentions were clear to him.

After laughing enough, Su Chen patted Mu Ke on the shoulder, "Doctor Mu, haven’t you reported to your family about your relationship with Miss Sheng? Tsk tsk, if Miss Sheng finds out you just got back and were matched for a date, watch out for getting the cold shoulder when you return."

Mu Ke coldly glanced at him again. He had indeed told them, clearly informing his mother that he currently has a girlfriend.
