When Love Turns the Tables: The Mysterious Husband's Chase-Chapter 676: No Problem Taking Care of You (6)
After all, he’s a doctor, skilled at handling these issues.
First, he kept Jiayu warm, then dried her hair, and finally fed her some fever-reducing medicine before Mu Ke went out.
Looking at the bags in the living room that hadn’t been touched, they looked the same way as they did when he first arrived. Mu Ke’s frown deepened.
He turned and went into the kitchen; aside from some drinks, there were no groceries in the fridge.
Apparently, except for what he bought last time, Jiayu hadn’t bothered to add any groceries at all.
Mu Ke grabbed the car keys, went out to the nearest supermarket, bought some items, rushed back, made a pot of congee, and brought it into the bedroom.
"Xiao Yu? Wake up and eat something."
Jiayu opened her eyes groggily, saw the person in front of her, then closed her eyes again. Her body ached, her eyelids were heavy, and her head felt extremely weighed down. She didn’t want to move at all.
Mu Ke managed to feed her a bowl of congee before Jiayu fell back into a slumber.
He tucked her back in with the blanket, closed the door after stepping out, and placed the bowl into the sink. Only then did Mu Ke realize his own discomfort; he hadn’t eaten anything either, and his stomach started to protest with a twisting pain.
After drinking two bowls of congee, he felt a bit better and took the opportunity to tidy up the kitchen before heading back into the bedroom.

The next morning, when Jiayu woke up, the sun was already bright. Her head was still heavy, dizzy even; she tried to prop herself up but fell back down again, staring at the ceiling, feeling as if it was spinning.
After a while, she felt slightly better and frowned.
What’s wrong with her?
She remembered going for a bath, and while bathing, she fainted, felt hazy about getting up at some point, then hit her head. Later, someone seemed to call her, but she couldn’t recall what happened next.
If her memory served, she seemed to vaguely see Mu Ke?
Just as she was thinking this, the bedroom door was pushed open, and the person she was thinking about stood live in front of her.
Jiayu tried to get up, but in the next second, a presence settled onto her shoulder; Mu Ke grabbed a pillow and placed it behind her, letting her lean back on the bed.
"Mu Ke?"
"Is your head still dizzy?"
Jiayu licked her lips, "Not too bad. What happened to me?"
"Bathing too long led to oxygen deficiency and fainting, plus soaking in cold water caused a cold and high fever, and you hurt your forehead. Jiayu, you really are something, so eager to report to King Yan; what’s the matter? Afraid he won’t accept you?"
Jiayu’s brain was muddled, her reactions slow, and it took a few seconds to realize that this man was angry.
Although she didn’t know how she came to this conclusion, she was sure that the man was angry.
Mu Ke was aloof and cold, rarely spoke, but when he used a sarcastic tone to add fuel to the fire, it could only mean one thing: he was angry. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
Jiayu frowned, and the man’s hand reached over, touching her forehead.
"The fever has gone down, but the forehead wounds need a few days to heal. Stay still and rest."
Mu Ke said as he got up and went out; when he returned, he had a bowl and a cup in his hands.
"Drink some water first, then have breakfast."
Jiayu reached out to take the cup to drink herself, and the man’s brow furrowed again, "Do not move."
