When Love Turns the Tables: The Mysterious Husband's Chase-Chapter 634: No Trouble, No Trouble (Part 4)
Tang Yanqi didn’t believe that Shen Yao had been pregnant for a long time before discovering her HIV positive status, but if she had known earlier and aborted the child, why did she appear in the obstetrics department that day?
A pregnant woman with such a disease showing up in obstetrics could happen, but she’s no longer pregnant, so how could she possibly appear in obstetrics?
But if she wanted to use a fake examination report to deceive Sheng Jianan, that’s unlikely too. Is her man that easy to deceive?
If Shen Yao wanted to use this to complain to Sheng Jianan and gain sympathy, to make Sheng Jianan let her go, he wouldn’t just believe her words. He would probably take her for a test; if Shen Yao was lying, she’d be exposed on the spot. She didn’t believe any doctor would dare lie in front of Sheng Jianan.
So the only explanation is that Shen Yao really had that disease, and she might have really been pregnant but had an abortion. But all this happened a long time ago, not during the time she was due. So Shen Yao being here that day was no coincidence; it was deliberate.
Deliberately came to kick her?
Although it seemed a bit far-fetched, it was the only possibility Tang Yanqi could think of.
Returning to the pediatrics side, Tang Yanqi’s expression had returned to normal. She and Sheng Jiayu picked up Little Tangdou to go home, and as soon as the little one got in the car, he fell asleep and didn’t wake up even when they got home.
Tang Yanqi received a call from a colleague. There was a translation manuscript urgently needed, but something came up at home, and the colleague hoped Tang Yanqi could help her out.
Tang Yanqi agreed; it wasn’t a big workload and was easy for her.
Little Tangdou was asleep, and Sheng Jiayu didn’t leave; instead, she played with Su Weiyi. Tang Yanqi told them she’d be in the study translating and preferred not to be disturbed. She liked to complete translations in one go; that’s how the work would stay coherent.
Tang Yanqi worked for over three hours without stopping. Near the end, she felt a bit stuck; several translation versions weren’t satisfactory, so she stood up to move her neck and arms.
Walking to the bookshelf, Tang Yanqi casually scanned the book titles. Most of Sheng Jianan’s books were a mix of Chinese and foreign languages. She wasn’t looking for a book to read, just seeking some inspiration.
Returning to the desk, she wrote two words but still felt they weren’t right. Leaning back in the leather chair, she spun around idly, feeling slightly frustrated.
After a while, feeling a bit better, Tang Yanqi gathered her thoughts again.
She typed the last word, hit save, and then the study door made a sound.
She had locked the door when she came in; no one could open it, so Tang Yanqi went over and opened the door.
She saw Sheng Jiayu holding a phone, saying to the person on the other end, "Hold on a moment, I’ll pass the phone to her."
The call was from Sheng Jianan. The reason was that Qiao Zi needed a particular piece of data from a document, but the document was at home. Qiao Zi had called Tang Yanqi, but she didn’t answer, so the call got directed to Sheng Jianan and then to Sheng Jiayu.
"In the bedroom bedside table drawer is a set of keys. Use them to open the bottom desk drawer; inside is what you need in a manila envelope."
Tang Yanqi did as Sheng Jianan instructed, found the document, and sent a photo of it to Qiao Zi.
About to close the drawer, her gaze paused suddenly. Underneath the manila envelope were several other documents, and she could faintly see a book hidden there.
