When Love Turns the Tables: The Mysterious Husband's Chase-Chapter 585: Buried Memories (Part 15)
Zhou Chengze’s voice took a sharp turn: "Brother Nan, I hope you don’t disappoint me."
As he walked out of the gates of Zhou Real Estate, the blood on Sheng Jianan’s arm had stopped flowing. His clothes were a bit disheveled, his face was bruised, and his arm looked menacingly terrifying.
He slowly walked back to the car, leaned back in the seat, and after a long while, he opened the file bag and looked through its contents one by one.
His hands tightly grasped the steering wheel, and the previously clotted blood vessels burst open again, with bright red blood slowly dripping down along the texture of his skin.
Sheng Jianan sped towards the villa, running through who knows how many red lights and narrowly avoiding collisions with countless cars, until he finally parked in front of the villa.
He stepped inside, and Su Weiyi was at the dining table on the first floor, eating the pudding made by Mrs. Zhang.
Upon seeing Sheng Jianan, the little girl jumped off the table: "Dad, dad..."
Sheng Jianan had no intention of paying attention to anyone else and directly stepped upstairs. Mrs. Zhang, with sharp eyes, saw the bright red on his arm and quickly pulled Su Weiyi back: "Be good, the master has something to discuss with the mistress."
The little girl was very obedient, nodded, and sat back down to eat her pudding.
Mrs. Zhang glanced upstairs several times, worried, but not hearing any strange noises, she relaxed.
Meanwhile upstairs, Tang Yanqi was sitting on a lounge chair on the balcony, basking in the sun. She had initially been reading a book, but perhaps the afternoon sun was too warm, and Tang Yanqi unknowingly dozed off, the book resting on her belly, her head tilted, her silky long hair cascading down smoothly like satin.
Sheng Jianan rushed in, and seeing this scene, his footsteps halted abruptly and his brows furrowed deeply.
In the sunlight, the woman looked gentle and beautiful, clearly already pregnant yet still frail, such that her appearance made one’s heart ache.
Sheng Jianan lightened his steps and approached slowly. Perhaps Tang Yanqi was only lightly sleeping, as she heard the noise and gently opened her eyes, her beautiful eyes still carrying a hint of sleepiness. She smiled softly at Sheng Jianan: "You’re back?"
At this moment, the man’s heart contracted suddenly. So close, he was so close to never seeing such a captivating smile again.
Sheng Jianan stood in a daze. The next second, Tang Yanqi had already stood up from the lounge chair, her eyes clear, looking at Sheng Jianan: "What happened to you?"
The person in front of her, with a bruised jaw and chin, with many dried blood stains remaining on his arm, the collar of his shirt open, and dark brown marks of some unknown origin.
Tang Yanqi pulled the still-dazed Sheng Jianan to sit by the bed, her brows knitted tightly: "Did you get into a fight? Talk to me."
Sheng Jianan didn’t respond and suddenly leaned in, pulling Tang Yanqi into his embrace, his chin resting on her shoulder: "I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry..."
The man repeated "I’m sorry" over a dozen times, leaving Tang Yanqi dazed. What on earth happened?
Was it because of that thing in the morning?
Tang Yanqi moved her lips, reached out to pull Sheng Jianan’s hand, trying to break free, but her palm touched a warm, sticky patch. It seemed Sheng Jianan’s wound had burst open again, and the scent of blood filled the room.
Suddenly, Tang Yanqi’s stomach churned, and the long-lost feeling of morning sickness emerged once again.
Without a word, she dashed into the bathroom. Sheng Jianan paused for a moment and quickly followed. Tang Yanqi knelt by the toilet, raising one hand in a gesture of refusal, muttering: "Don’t come over."
