When Love Turns the Tables: The Mysterious Husband's Chase-Chapter 543: Return to the Sheng Family (Part 3)
She had almost finished half of it, and most of them were pictures of her mother, but there were also many pictures of her mother with Tang Ruhai.
The photos from that era didn’t have great effects, but they were absolutely genuine, with no enhancement, let alone Photoshop. The man in the photo was thin and handsome, and the woman was gentle and sweet.
To be honest, Tang Yanqi found it hard to associate this woman with her worn-out mother, but it was indeed clear that they were the same person.
In the photos, Tang Ruhai’s smile was very good; not exceptionally handsome, but definitely a smile from the heart, very different from the smile in the wedding photos in the Tang Family’s bedroom.
Tang Yanqi pursed her lips. Did this mean that Tang Ruhai once truly loved her mother?
But if he loved her, why could he be so cruel to her?
Continuing to flip through, some people Tang Yanqi didn’t know appeared. Among them was a group photo with six people. Tang Ruhai stood in the middle, with her mother on his left and an unknown woman on his right.
In the second half of the album, there were many photos of this woman. Some were of her alone, some with Tang Yanqi’s mother, and some with Tang Ruhai, even ones with all three together.
Tang Yanqi looked at them page by page and only closed the album slowly after finishing the last page.
The photos revealed nothing, but her intuition told her that there must be a story she didn’t know between that unfamiliar woman, her mother, and Tang Ruhai.
She entered the Tang Family at six and saw many things with her own eyes. Tang Ruhai was the typical type who had a solid family at home, but a colorful life outside. Although most of it was just for appearances, it was obvious that Shen Wanqing was not the only woman in Tang Ruhai’s life.
Such a man indeed had many romantic debts; he did, and perhaps another would appear out of nowhere in the future.
But it didn’t matter anymore. All these stories became the past with her mother’s death, Tang Ruhai’s death, and Shen Wanqing’s death.
Putting the album back in the drawer, Tang Yanqi stood up to get a drink of water. Just as she walked out of the bedroom, Sheng Jianan returned. He didn’t look well. Tang Yanqi walked over, and before she could ask anything, Sheng Jianan suddenly leaned straight into her, resting his head on her neck, his body bent like a bow, with one hand pressed on his stomach.
"Hug me."
The man spoke in a muffled voice. Tang Yanqi reached out and wrapped her arms around his waist. "What’s wrong?"
"Stomachache."
"..."
A stomachache, and he wants a hug? Is his brain alright?
"Did you not eat? Sit down, and I’ll make you something to eat."
Sheng Jianan didn’t let go. Instead, he tightened his grip around her waist. "Tired, need a hug."
"..."
At his age, acting so spoiled—is that even acceptable?
These past two days, Sheng Jianan had been helping her with Tang Ruhai’s funeral arrangements and hadn’t been to the company much. Presumably, a pile of work had accumulated, and maybe something urgent came up, so he was too busy to even remember dinner.
After letting him hold her for a while, Tang Yanqi finally helped Sheng Jianan to the sofa to sit. "Wait here, I’ll cook you some noodles."
As she turned around, her wrist was grabbed again. "No, I’ll do it myself."
Sheng Jianan stood up, his brow furrowing slightly, clearly in considerable pain from his stomach.
"Just sit, I’ll be quick."
"No, a husband who lets his wife cook isn’t a good husband. I’ll cook, you just keep me company and talk to me."
Tang Yanqi: "..."
What kind of twisted logic is this?
