When Love Turns the Tables: The Mysterious Husband's Chase-Chapter 525: Enemies Cross Paths (Part 5)
I Love Big Oranges: [Tangtang, kneel on the instant noodles, you must kneel on the instant noodles. Whether it’s a misunderstanding or not, kneel first, talk later.]
Bingbing: [Tch, instant noodles don’t have much of a punishment. A man, he needs something to make him remember. How about some durian peel?]
Bai Xue seemed to be still on a date and hadn’t been part of their conversation until now, her tone was soft.
Xue Hua Piao: [Sis, you’re too harsh. Tangtang wouldn’t bear to do that. I say, how about a washboard? It’s just right to use as a prop.]
Sitting in the car, Tang Yanqi looked at messages for a while and then gazed out the window to avoid getting carsick.
After reading their suggestions, a smile tugged at the corner of her mouth as her fingers leisurely typed a response.
Tangtang Loves Candy: [Hmm... instant noodles, washboard, durian peel... I have decision paralysis.]
After sending that message, without waiting for others to reply, Tang Yanqi typed another line and sent it.
Tangtang Loves Candy: [Forget it, let’s do each one once, to save the hassle of choosing.]
The chatbox was instantly flooded with various emojis and "..."
After a while, someone finally typed something.
I Love Big Oranges: [Tangtang, you are indeed the fiercest.] 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
Tang Yanqi didn’t respond, turned her phone face down, and continued looking out the window.
Actually, when she saw Sheng Jianan and Shen Yao at the restaurant entrance, for a moment she felt a little fearful, especially seeing Shen Yao almost clinging onto Sheng Jianan.
She feared that his heart was still divided between two women, and that she was taking a gamble that might not pay off, but when she saw Sheng Jianan actually let go of Shen Yao, dropping her to the ground, and then disregarded his own dignity and image, explaining himself in front of her friends and strangers.
Sheng Jianan, he didn’t need to explain anything. Even if he said the sky was red, you’d have to just shut up.
Yet, he did explain back then, though his words were a mess and out of sequence, inexplicably easing some of the panic in her heart.
But there was still a knot in her heart, so Tang Yanqi chose to calm herself down. She didn’t want to hear explanations then; she just wanted some peace.
Chatting with her roommates helped dissolve a lot of her pent-up feelings.
Back at the apartment, before getting out of the car, Tang Yanqi glanced at her phone again. There was a privately sent message on QQ.
Bingbing: [Don’t act rashly, don’t be afraid. Ask properly, it should be a misunderstanding. Even a fool could see he likes you.]
Tang Yanqi quietly put the phone back in her bag. Didn’t she already understand Bai Bing’s words? The way Sheng Jianan looked at her, and how he sometimes bossed her around and sometimes acted cute, he might as well have "I like you" written on his face.
It’s undeniable that he likes her, but what about Shen Yao?
Saying she didn’t care would be a lie; saying she cared a lot would be an exaggeration.
Back in the apartment, Sheng Jianan was about to say something, but Tang Yanqi turned into Su Weiyi’s room. The little girl was already asleep, but Tang Yanqi habitually went to check on her, gently tucking the blanket around her.
At the head of Su Weiyi’s bed was an open picture book, showing a drawing of three people. They looked identical except for their height differences, which barely indicated they were a family of three.
Tang Yanqi smiled, bowing her head to gently kiss the little girl on the forehead.
She backed out of the room to find Sheng Jianan still standing where he had entered. Tang Yanqi glanced at him: "Why are you standing there? Acting as the door god?"
