Chapter 159: Chapter 159: Care in All Aspects

After taking Jenna Axton and Russell Frost to the airport, Blaze Fairchild and Luna Axton returned to Lakeside Manor.

Luna, eight months pregnant, had spent the whole morning walking and sitting. The moment she got home, she was so exhausted she collapsed directly onto the sofa.

She stared blankly at her familiar surroundings, her body nestled lazily into the couch.

’It’s so much more relaxing not living with elders.’

At the Frost Family’s home, if she wanted to lie down, she had to go back to her room.

With the elders around, it was not only improper for her, as a junior, to go lie on a bed, but she couldn’t even slouch when she sat.

Blaze Fairchild opened the handbag she had taken to the Frost Family’s place, sorting her things and putting them away.

"Should I call Mrs. Creed and have her make something light?" After a busy morning, it was almost time for lunch, so Blaze Fairchild asked for her opinion.

"You decide. I didn’t have many skewers last night, so I don’t feel any discomfort," Luna Axton replied, her voice listless.

This May Day holiday had been a lot of fun, but it was also truly exhausting.

She lay on her side, her gaze fixed on Blaze Fairchild as he tidied up. After a moment of deliberation, she spoke. "You told Grandpa just now that you were going to take care of me personally?"

"Yes." Blaze Fairchild’s expression didn’t change as he continued sorting things.

"If this is about the wedding, we can hold it later. There’s no need to rush."

Luna Axton was thinking that if they held the wedding later, they would have more time to prepare, and it wouldn’t require Blaze Fairchild to put his work on hold just for the preparations.

Blaze Fairchild stopped what he was doing and sat down on the sofa opposite her. He told Luna Axton very seriously,

"The company won’t be signing any major new partnership projects this year. Most of them are cooperative plans that were settled last year. The projects can proceed steadily without me personally overseeing them, so I don’t need to go to the office every day. This year’s work plan was all confirmed before last year’s annual meeting."

After speaking, he emphasized again, "I truly want to be home to take care of you. The wedding is secondary. The main reason is you."

His expression was solemn. Luna Axton froze for a moment, a thousand thoughts racing through her mind.

She had learned about the love story of Blaze Fairchild’s parents from her own mother and aunt.

Mr. Fairchild loved Mrs. Fairchild very much, but Evergrow Group needed him too much.

He had believed that since Mrs. Fairchild had already experienced giving birth to Blaze, the care he provided her during her pregnancy was practically nonexistent.

For Mrs. Fairchild, even having Mr. Fairchild come home every day became an extravagant hope.

A very young Blaze Fairchild saw it all. He didn’t know why his mother was unhappy, but he could sense her emotions.

His mother would scream her lungs out in front of him, smash things with a twisted expression, and even harm her own body right before his eyes.

Little Blaze Fairchild shouldered a pressure that no child his age should have to bear.

Luna Axton’s inscrutable gaze fell upon Blaze Fairchild.

’Now, as a grown man, Blaze understands what happened between his parents.’

’When it’s his turn to become a father, he’s nervous and scared.’

’But he could never show that kind of pressure in front of me, a woman carrying his child.’

’All he can do is the exact opposite of what his father did back then.’

’He believes the whole tragedy originated from his father’s lack of concern for his mother. So he decided that not only would he spend more time with me during my pregnancy, but he would also accompany me to every prenatal checkup. And now that I’m in my third trimester, he must take care of me personally.’

In those few seconds of silence, Luna Axton understood a great deal.

She smiled radiantly and said, "Well then, starting today, I’ll have to trouble Mr. Fairchild to take care of me."

She didn’t ask any more questions. If he wanted to take care of her, she would let him.

Hearing this, a flicker of something unnatural passed through Blaze Fairchild’s dark eyes.

’Luna really is sharp. I only said I wanted to care for her personally, and she understood why and went along with it.’

Blaze Fairchild was touched by her understanding and also felt lucky to have found such a quick-witted wife.

He raised an eyebrow, a cryptic smile playing on his lips as he asked flirtatiously, "In every single aspect?"

Luna Axton understood instantly, and her face flushed crimson.

Blaze Fairchild, however, remained unflustered and continued to take clothes out of the bag to hang up.

Luna Axton glanced at the clothes on the sofa, realized what was coming next, and grabbed the back of the sofa to sit up.

"I’ll do it myself."

She walked over to get a small bag from inside, but Blaze Fairchild snatched the handbag away before she could.

"I said I’d take care of you."

"I’d rather do that part myself." Luna Axton held out her hand, asking for it back.

In the third trimester, discharge increases, so her underwear would often get damp, meaning she had to change frequently. At a minimum, she changed twice a day.

At the Frost Family’s home, it wasn’t convenient to wash and dry her undergarments, so she had just put them in a small bag, planning to wash them when she got back.

’A whole bag of underwear... how embarrassing would it be if Blaze Fairchild found out?’

’He can’t get his hands on it.’

"Just give it back. It’s all dirty personal clothing. I’ll wash it myself." She thought her hint was obvious enough.

Blaze Fairchild stood up, hiding the bag behind his back and holding one hand up to block her. "I said I’d take care of you. In every single aspect."

"They’re really dirty. If you touch them, I’ll never be able to look you in the eye again."

After a brief standoff, Blaze Fairchild thought of a great way to avoid her embarrassment while still being able to wash her personal items.

"Alright, how about this? I’ll wear rubber gloves and a blindfold to wash them. That way, I won’t touch or see anything. You can sit on a stool and watch me, and just tell me when they’re clean."

Luna Axton was speechless.

’What’s the difference?!’

But she also knew that if Blaze Fairchild was determined to take it, there was no way she could snatch it back.

"Do you absolutely have to wash them?"

"Absolutely."

"Fine. You wash them," Luna Axton conceded.

’I’ll just let him wash them this one time. From now on, I’ll scrub them and put them out to dry in the sun immediately after I change.’

And so, on that sunny afternoon, in the second-floor bathroom of Lakeside Manor...

Luna Axton sat on a stool while a black necktie was tied around Blaze Fairchild’s head.

His eyes were covered by the tie, and he wore a pair of gloves on his hands, scrubbing a basin of personal garments that were soaking in warm water.

A smile played on Luna Axton’s lips as her eyes traced the line of his high-bridged nose and handsomely shaped lips.

’Without seeing his eyes, Blaze Fairchild’s face isn’t so cold and domineering.’

That little bit of displeasure in her heart vanished in an instant at the sight of Blaze Fairchild’s dignified yet comical appearance.

More than half an hour later, nine pairs of panties and four bras were hanging neatly on the second-floor drying terrace.

Under the sunlight, they swayed gently in the breeze, scattering the faint floral scent of laundry detergent.

Blaze Fairchild had washed them very cleanly.

"I’m tired. I’m going to sleep." Luna Axton had kept Blaze Fairchild company while he washed her things. Now, having received news that her parents had landed safely, her head was already feeling drowsy.

"Go ahead and sleep. I have some work to take care of in the study anyway."

Luna Axton originally thought that Blaze Fairchild’s "taking care of her" would end there.

Who knew that when she was showering before bed that night, Blaze Fairchild would show up again.

She was washing her hair at the time. Unable to bend over, she could only stand, tilt her head back, and slowly massage her scalp, hoping to get it a little cleaner so it would stay fresh longer.

Just as her arms were getting sore from being raised and working for so long, and she was standing there to rest...

CLICK. The bathroom door was pushed open before her panicked eyes.

Through the steam filling the shower, and from behind the five-foot-tall frosted glass partition, she saw Blaze Fairchild step inside.

He was wearing only a pair of briefs. With his broad shoulders and long legs, he stood there and said matter-of-factly, "I’m here to help you wash your hair."

He had noticed last night. Luna had showered, but she hadn’t washed her hair.

For someone who was always so keen on being clean, it was rare for her to shower without washing her hair.

He later figured it out: it was probably because her body felt heavy, and washing her hair was tiring.

That’s why he had timed his entrance to help her.
