When His Nauseous Sweetheart Frowns, the Tycoon's Family Takes Turns Pampering Her-Chapter 119: Midnight Disturbance
After countless S-shaped turns, Luna finally saw the red bus the front desk had mentioned.
The facade of the building was the body of a bus, while the roof, made of insulating and waterproof material, was shaped like a triangle.
The bus was surrounded by a clearing. Fallen pine needles and pinecones had been swept away, revealing the bare ground beneath.
A small table, cut from a log so thick you could barely wrap your arms around it, sat in the clearing. Dry firewood and collected pinecones were stacked neatly beside a fire pit.
Judging by the signs of use on the pit, it was functional.
’But she and Blaze probably don’t know how to start a fire, so it’ll just be for decoration.’
She wandered around.
Their room was at the highest point, offering a vast view from the yard that was almost level with the horizon.
Blaze was tidying up the room. He made the bed with the clean linens they’d brought and then washed and wiped down all their various items before standing at the doorway to call for her.
"You can come in now."
Luna stood at the entrance. The space inside was limited, but it was bathed in a warm orange glow from the sunset pouring through the window.
Her gaze fell on the bed. It was quite narrow. Aside from the essential furnishings, there was only enough space for one person to pass through at a time.
"This was the only room left when Kyle booked it," Blaze explained, his expression as calm as ever.
Luna had been about to say it was nice.
But when she thought about how the two of them would have to practically cling to each other all night to keep from falling off the bed, she decided to say nothing.
’In this boundless environment, we have this tiny, cramped little shelter.’
’It feels like we’re healing our tiny, insignificant selves in the heart of nature.’
Here, besides resting in bed, one could only pull up a camping chair, build a fire in the clearing for warmth, and enjoy the view.
They would be spending the next two days here, and Luna thought that was perfectly fine.
"Do you want some coffee?" Blaze had been busy all day while she hadn’t done a thing, and she felt a little bad about it.
Blaze’s gaze fell on the fire pit in the yard, and he understood immediately.
He said, "Sure."
Luna didn’t know how to start a fire, but she could ask a staff member for help.
Not long after she made the call, a staff member came up to their room. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
The air here was damp and cold, and the temperature dropped sharply after sunset. With proper fire safety measures in place, there was no risk of a wildfire, which was why the hotel dared to provide firewood.
Guests could build fires and have barbecues, which was one of the hotel’s unique features.
The staff member used the collected pine needles and fallen leaves to start the fire, and it was blazing in no time.
Luna took over, tending the fire and putting a kettle on to boil. While waiting for the water, she began to grind the coffee beans.
Blaze pulled up a camping chair and sat beside her, stretching out his long legs and letting the evening sun wash over him.
The horizon was right before them, and the round sun sank at a speed visible to the naked eye.
Campfire, sunset, coffee.
Cold wind, the scent of pine, Luna.
Everything filled him with a sense of pleasure.
Luna had seen him make pour-over coffee before, so she mimicked his actions, pouring the water with a practiced air.
After letting it brew for a few minutes, a cup of coffee fragrant with notes of citrus and grapefruit was ready.
"Here, try it."
Luna handed it to him, her big, bright eyes filled with anticipation.
As steam wafted between them, Blaze looked up, and she immediately asked, "Well? How is it?"
"You try it," Blaze said, bringing the coffee cup to her lips.
Pregnant women could drink coffee, as long as it was in moderation.
Afraid it might not taste good, she leaned forward, took a sip from the cup Blaze was holding, and let the coffee linger in her mouth for a few seconds before swallowing.
It was mellow and smooth, with a hint of chocolate and honey sweetness beneath the bitterness.
’It’s actually really good.’
’So why did Blaze make me try it?’
She asked, "Is it not good?"
"What do you think?" Blaze countered, not answering her question.
Luna had no idea what he was thinking, so she could only answer honestly, "I think it’s good."
Blaze: "Then it’s good."
Luna: ...
Blaze said no more. His smiling gaze drifted elsewhere as his finely sculpted lips parted to take another sip of coffee.
It was just a cup of coffee, yet Blaze drank it as if it were the most precious, one-of-a-kind brew in the world.
Luna couldn’t understand him. She used the fire tongs to poke at the wood in the pit, making sure the flames didn’t die out.
The sun set, and without the warmth of its light, the temperature dropped noticeably.
Dinner was delivered directly from the hotel: sandwiches and a vegetable salad, accompanied by ham, cherries, and red kiwis.
The staff member explained that the fruit was all grown by local farmers at the foot of the mountain to help boost the villagers’ income.
Luna had already noticed during check-in that most of the staff were locals.
The two of them didn’t move, eating their dinner right there by the fire.
Perhaps because they had eaten so lavishly during the Lunar New Year, this light and simple meal tasted exceptionally good to Luna.
She couldn’t manage the fruit just then, so she saved it for a late-night snack.
In the distance, a few more campfires flickered to life, and the cold wind carried a stronger scent of burning wood.
Someone was having a barbecue, and the aroma of grilled meat drifted through the air.
The sky grew dim, the firelight flickering across their faces.
They simply sat there in silence, a profound sense of peace and relaxation settling deep within them.
Sounds drifted from afar—an acoustic guitar accompanied a solo singer, then a man and a woman sang a duet.
After listening for a while, their fire died down, and they began to feel the chill.
"Let’s wash up and get some sleep," Blaze suggested.
Luna replied, "Okay."
Blaze brought the kettle in from the fire. He poured some of the hot water into a thermos and the rest into a basin lined with a plastic bag for Luna to soak her feet.
’It gets cold here at night. If she soaks her feet before bed, they’ll stay warm.’
Perhaps because she was exhausted from the day, or perhaps because Blaze’s chest was so warm against her back, Luna quickly drifted off into a deep sleep.
The bed was narrow, so they were practically pressed together as they slept.
Having had coffee earlier in the evening, Blaze wasn’t the least bit sleepy.
Here in the mountains, there were no lingering city lights. Through the small window, he could see tiny stars shining in the deep blue sky.
Lying on his side, he propped his head up with one arm and wrapped the other around Luna’s waist, his large hand resting gently on her baby bump as he gazed out the window.
With Luna sleeping soundly in his arms, his mood was exceptionally good.
He didn’t know how much time had passed when he suddenly heard the RUSTLE of footsteps outside.
Blaze assumed it was just a staff member on patrol and paid it no mind.
But then he heard a woman’s moans, interspersed with the vulgar chatter of a man and woman.
In the darkness, Blaze’s expression soured. He reached over and gently covered Luna’s ears.
The pair outside seemed completely unaware that the room was occupied, and their noises grew increasingly unrestrained.
The woman’s high-pitched cries and the man’s low, guttural grunts rose and fell in a relentless rhythm.
Just as Luna was startled awake by the noise, she heard it all, including a woman’s cry of pleasure, "Yes! Mmm! Just like that... you’re amazing..."
