When 'God' Decides To Start Over-Chapter 709 - 287: The Statue That Cannot Be Approached_3
"Fourth Master, your skill is truly unrivaled," Wan Chaojue said with envy, "In the Longevity Heaven, there are very few who can kill someone in the third stage of Spirit Casting, ones that can be counted on one hand. With skills like yours, why even wear Demon Armor? Barehanded, no one is a match for you."
"What do you know, in ancient fantasy novels, Fourth Master is what they call Magic and Martial Dual Cultivation." Wan Chaohua said.
Li Xiu smiled and said, "If you're interested, you're welcome to join the technician group. I can teach you how to control Magic Armor; Magic and Martial Dual Cultivation is not a difficult task."
"It's a pity I don't have the talent of a Magic Armor Master, or else I would really want to follow you to learn Magic Armor Control." Wan Chaojue said.
If it were before, Wan Chaojue would never have said anything about learning Magic Armor, having always looked down on Magic Armor Masters. It's hard to imagine that such words actually came out of Wan Chaojue's mouth.
"Fourth Master, I have the talent of a Magic Armor Master, I'll learn with you later." Wan Chaohua laughed and said.
"Alright, come by my place when you have time." Li Xiu said, looking around the beautiful city, "Let's go and take a look at the Prince Statue first."
They walked towards the city center together. It truly was a beautiful city, with streets paved with colorful stones, and various lifelike statues on either side of the street.
There was a mailman riding a bicycle delivering letters, a mother holding her daughter's hand while walking, and a big fat man holding a wine glass, seemingly inviting passersby to enter the tavern and taste some wine.
There were statues everywhere along the way. They all looked like they were made of cast iron, embellishing this beautiful city full of vitality, creating a unique scenery.
Along the way, they encountered quite a few living people, but they weren't from the Demon Kingdom. They, like Li Xiu and his group, were Trial Takers from Longevity Heaven.
Seeing Li Xiu, Wan Chaoxin, and others, some Trial Takers came forward to greet them, while others silently stepped aside.
Before long, Li Xiu and his group arrived near the square.
Before even entering the square, they saw from afar a statue of a prince standing tall in the square.
All other statues in the city were the color of cast iron, but the Prince's statue was colorful, making it very eye-catching, noticeable at one glance.
The Happy Prince Statue wore clothes inlaid with gold, had a crown on its head, and a Golden Treasure Sword at its waist.
A ruby the size of a ping-pong ball was set at the tip of the sword's hilt, emitting a dazzling radiance under the sunlight.
The statue's eyes were flawless blue gemstones, with circles of halos flowing inside, making those sapphire eyes look as if alive, as though the Happy Prince was watching them.
To Li Xiu's surprise, the Happy Prince Statue had not just these three gems, but also a square emerald on the Prince's crown.
A considerable number of Trial Takers had already gathered in the square, all observing the Happy Prince Statue from afar. Although the look in their eyes was fervent as they gazed at the gems on the Happy Prince, no one dared to approach the statue.
Even though no one dared to approach, some Trial Takers summoned demon spirits to try to get close to the Happy Prince Statue.
One Trial Taker was controlling a Snake Demon Spirit, swaying its tail as it approached the statue.
But just as the Snake Demon Spirit was about to approach the statue, its body quickly turned into a cast iron statue.
Li Xiu and Chu Jun exchanged glances, each seeing the shock in the other's eyes.
There were already twenty or thirty cast iron statues in the square, in both human and various demon spirit forms, presumably from previous attempts to approach the Happy Prince Statue by Trial Takers and demon spirits.
This wasn't the main reason for their shock. As they walked along, they must have seen hundreds of statues on either side of the street, and those were just the statues on one street. They couldn't fathom how many such statues there were throughout the city. If all those statues were once living creatures, the previous sense of beauty turns somewhat horrifying.
This seemingly beautiful city is practically a massive graveyard, interring those who were turned into cast iron statues.
The Trial Takers in the square all hoped to find a way to take the gems from the statue, but unfortunately, no one has succeeded yet.
"Could that Happy Prince Statue itself be a demon spirit?" Chu Jun examined the statue, pondering.
"Many people have speculated so. However, it has never moved. As long as you don't approach within range, there won't be an issue. No one can confirm if it's the statue or the area that's problematic." Wan Chaoxin said. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
Li Xiu scrutinized the area around the statue. Ten meters from it, there was a circle of railings. Those transformed into cast iron statues—both demon spirits and Trial Takers—were inside the railing, while the Trial Takers outside the railing remained unaffected.
"Strange, why don't I see the body of that little swallow from the fairy tale?" Chu Jun stared at the area near the statue for a while, seemingly searching for something, and finally said with some disappointment.
"This only has some resemblance to the Happy Prince fairy tale. It isn't the fairy tale itself. Where would a swallow come from?" Wan Chaojue laughed, "If there really was a swallow, wouldn't the gems and gold pieces on the Happy Prince Statue be long gone? How could they still be here for us to take?"
"I thought it would be exactly like the fairy tale." Chu Jun said with some disappointment.
Outside the railing, there were quite a few Trial Takers, at least two or three dozen, but no one dared to release their demon spirits to try again.
Wan Chaoxin looked at Li Xiu and asked, "Fourth Master, do you want to give it a try?"
"We're just here to take a look; we don't intend to make a move for now. If you have any methods, go ahead and try." Li Xiu replied.
"Then we'll give it a try first." Wan Chaoxin looked at Wan Chaojue.
Wan Chaojue nodded slightly, then summoned a demon spirit—a giant, whose entire body resembled steel.
"This is my demon spirit, the Steel Giant God. It has the ability to metalize itself. Maybe it can withstand the strange power that turns creatures into cast iron statues." As Wan Chaojue spoke, he ordered the Steel Giant God to approach the Happy Prince Statue.
