Wedding Night: My Disabled Husband Made Me Cry-Chapter 79: Vivian Quinn’s Child Is Not Master Sterling’s
Everyone turned toward the voice and saw a man in a wheelchair coming out of the elevator.
His face was even more striking than Ian Sterling’s. He had a cold, hard, and noble air about him, a perfection that made him seem out of place with everyone there.
The crowd automatically parted, and those who recognized Jett Sterling nodded respectfully in greeting.
"Master Sterling."
"Master Sterling."
Those who didn’t know him whispered among themselves.
"So this is the head of the Sterling family? He’s so handsome!"
"He’s not just anyone. Don’t even think about it."
Vivian Quinn watched the man coming toward her. She had a vague feeling of what he was about to do and kept backing away.
Her retreat sent a sharp pain through Jett Sterling’s heart!
’Is she really that opposed to me? So unwilling to make our relationship public?’
The more his heart ached, the more resolute he became. Arriving in front of Vivian Quinn, he announced, each word ringing with authority, "Allow me to make a formal introduction. This is my new wife, the new mistress of the Sterling family, Vivian Quinn."
Vivian Quinn shuddered violently, her hands tightly gripping the hem of her clothes, standing frozen as she met the man’s gaze.
A triumphant smirk flashed in Rachel Quinn’s eyes as she stood to the side. She glanced at the crowd.
The next second, someone suddenly shouted, "What’s that!"
Everyone looked toward the voice. On the projector on the wall, the video of Ian Sterling’s childhood that had been playing was suddenly replaced by the image of a heavily pregnant woman!
And that pregnant woman was none other than Vivian Quinn!
The color instantly drained from Vivian Quinn’s face!
Everything happened too suddenly. She had no time to mentally prepare before her darkest secret was laid bare for all to see.
Vivian Quinn looked at herself in the picture. She had straight bangs, her eyes were lifeless, and a faint sadness seeped through.
If she wasn’t mistaken, that was her from the year she lost her memory!
Jett Sterling saw the photo too, and his pupils constricted sharply!
The guests’ voices reached his ears.
"So Master Sterling and his wife already have a child. Congratulations."
"Master Sterling and his wife are so good-looking. Their child must be beautiful..."
Jett Sterling snapped back to his senses, whipping his head around to stare in disbelief at the pale-faced Vivian Quinn!
Vivian Quinn looked into his deep eyes and could no longer hold it in. Tears streamed down her face!
Just then, a familiar voice came from the crowd, "You’ve all been deceived! The child Vivian Quinn was carrying wasn’t Master Sterling’s at all!"
"Not Master Sterling’s?" Someone’s gaze fell on Austin Grant. "Could it be Master Grant’s? If I recall correctly, Vivian Quinn was Master Grant’s fiancée before."
Austin Grant’s face was ashen. He glared at Vivian Quinn. "When was this! Whose child were you carrying!"
"Pfft! What’s going on? It’s not Master Grant’s child?"
Nina King stepped out from the crowd and spoke clearly and forcefully, "Vivian Quinn got pregnant three years ago. It wasn’t Master Grant’s child. It was the child of a stranger she slept with after getting drunk. She doesn’t even know who the father is!"
Vivian Quinn felt the world spin around her. Her legs went weak, and she found it difficult to even stand firm!
"Oh my god! Is that for real?"
"Doesn’t that mean Master Sterling has been cuckolded in a huge way?"
"This is more than just being cuckolded, it’s an entire Cryonian prairie!"
"No, no, no, to be precise, Master Grant was the one who was cuckolded, and Master Sterling is just the one who picked up the pieces!"
"A woman like that can actually marry into the Sterling family? You’ve got to be kidding me, right?"
Tears blurred Vivian Quinn’s vision, and the incomparably handsome face of Jett Sterling before her grew indistinct.
But she could still feel the mocking, contemptuous gazes, like knives hacking at her.
She felt a chill shoot up from the soles of her feet. Though it was a hot summer day, she felt as if she were in an ice cellar!
She tugged at her lips, as if in a smile, then slowly turned and walked away, one step at a time.
Jett Sterling snapped out of his daze and immediately wheeled his chair after her!
"Jett, where are you going!"
Wendy Reeves was about to chase after him but was stopped by Easton Rivers.
"Ma’am, please stay here."
...
Outside, it had started raining at some point, but Vivian Quinn was completely unaware, walking numbly into the downpour.
She didn’t know how long she had been walking when she tripped on something, stumbled, and fell to the ground.
Vivian Quinn came to her senses and realized she had already left Sycamore Bay and was walking on an empty road.
She struggled to her feet and dragged her exhausted body forward.
Suddenly, a familiar voice came from behind her, "Vivian..."
Vivian Quinn’s steps faltered. She slowly turned to see the man in the wheelchair.
He wasn’t holding an umbrella and was soaked to the bone. His handsome face was etched with pain as he spoke with difficulty, "You want to divorce me because of the pregnancy, right? Tell me what happened, please?"
Through the curtain of rain, Vivian Quinn looked at him, her face devoid of expression. "Don’t you think I’ve been humiliated enough? If I knew what happened, none of this would have occurred today!"
Jett Sterling closed his eyes. "Vivian, I know you’re innocent. Calm down and tell me what really happened. I’ll get justice for you."
"I don’t need you to!" Vivian Quinn shook her head forcefully, tears mixing with the rain as they streamed down her face. "Jett Sterling, I’m so sorry. It’s a fact that I’ve been with another man. It’s also a fact that I’ve been pregnant."
Jett Sterling froze.
"Jett Sterling, you’re not the one who’s dirty—I am. I don’t even know who that man was. I don’t know where the child is now. I don’t know anything, except that I’m so, so filthy..."
Vivian Quinn wanted to maintain her last shred of dignity, but it was too difficult. If she could, she wouldn’t be facing Jett Sterling at all; she would have simply vanished from his life completely.
"I just want a divorce! I’m begging you, please let me go! I don’t want to face any of this anymore!"
"Vivian, it’s not about me letting you go. It’s about you letting yourself go." The man reached out his hand to her. "Trust me. Give me your hand, okay?"
"No... Don’t come any closer! Let me go... Don’t come closer!"
Shaking her head, Vivian Quinn lost control and turned to run.
Just as Jett Sterling was about to give chase, he suddenly saw headlights flare up ahead. A black car was speeding toward them, heading straight for Vivian Quinn!
"Vivian!"
Before Vivian Quinn could react, she was forcefully shoved aside and fell to the ground!
The next second, BANG!
Vivian Quinn whipped her head around and saw Jett Sterling lying in the rain. Bright red blood seeped out from under him, diluted by the heavy downpour, which only made the sight more shocking!
"J-Jett Sterling!" Vivian Quinn scrambled over to his side. "What’s wrong? Don’t scare me, Jett Sterling!"
The man struggled to open his eyes. He slowly raised his hand to gently caress her face. His pale lips parted as he spoke weakly, "Vivian, don’t be afraid..."
Vivian Quinn watched as his eyes slowly closed, her mind going blank. "Jett Sterling? Jett Sterling, wake up! Don’t scare me! Somebody! Help..."
