Wedding Night: My Disabled Husband Made Me Cry-Chapter 3: Forced Kiss
Vivian Quinn: "..."
"Sir, are you sure you’re not running a fever? When did I ever say I’d marry you?"
"You have no way out. You must marry me."
"Impossible!" Vivian Quinn rejected him outright. "I’ve told you, I have a fiancé. The day after tomorrow... No, I’m getting engaged to him tomorrow."
"And as I’ve said, you can forget about it. You belong only to me."
"You..." Vivian Quinn was nearly speechless. "If you’d like, I can take your pulse and see if there’s something wrong with your head."
"Don’t want to marry me?" The man turned to leave, his pace unhurried. "I will make you face reality."
Vivian Quinn didn’t understand what he meant until that evening, when, to her surprise, two bodyguards escorted her off the island.
Vivian Quinn was overjoyed. ’As long as I can get away from here, I’ll have a chance to escape!’
After getting off the yacht, Vivian Quinn was led into a black sedan. Jett Sterling was sitting in the back seat.
As the car started, Vivian Quinn finally couldn’t resist asking, "Where are you taking me?"
"To make you face reality."
Vivian Quinn ignored him, looking for an opportunity to escape.
But the car doors were locked. She also noticed two other cars following them—bodyguards, most likely.
’Quite an entourage.’
Vivian Quinn glanced at the man beside her. The passing lights cast his handsome face in and out of shadow, creating a hazy, dreamlike effect.
"Done staring?" the man said, suddenly turning to face her. "Taken a liking to me?"
Vivian Quinn: "..."
"It’s a mercy I haven’t beaten you to death!"
Jett Sterling chuckled softly. "You wouldn’t have the heart to kill me."
"Don’t be so sure." Her fists were already clenched.
Vivian Quinn suddenly realized something was off. This looked like the way to the Quinn family’s estate!
’Could it be? Did this man grow a conscience and decide to take me home?’
She quickly dismissed the thought. When things seem too good to be true, they usually are. There was definitely more to this!
The car entered the exclusive residential area and stopped a short distance from the Quinn family’s villa.
Vivian Quinn eyed him skeptically. "Are you really taking me home?"
"Don’t be impatient. Just wait for the show to begin."
"What are you playing at? Let me out! We can call it even and go our separate ways!"
"Wait."
Vivian Quinn was furious. For the first time in her life, she felt completely controlled by someone else.
Her home was right there, in plain sight, yet she was trapped.
About half an hour later, a white sports car suddenly pulled up in front of the Quinn family’s home.
Vivian Quinn recognized it at once. It was Austin Grant’s car!
’He must have been looking for me like a madman!’
Vivian Quinn couldn’t hold back any longer and tried to open the door. Unsurprisingly, it was locked.
"Let me out!"
Jett Sterling said calmly, "Watch closely."
Vivian Quinn instinctively looked out. It wasn’t just Austin getting out of the white sports car; there was also a slender figure in a white dress.
Vivian didn’t need a closer look to recognize her. It was Rachel Quinn.
But in the next moment, to her shock, the two of them were wrapped in a passionate embrace, kissing!
Even from over a hundred meters away, Vivian could feel the intensity of their kiss.
If that weren’t her fiancé and the woman she called her sister, she might have actually been moved by the scene!
On that scorching summer day, Vivian felt a chill creep up from the soles of her feet. It was as if she had been plunged into an ice cellar, and she couldn’t stop shivering. "Impossible... He would never betray me..."
"I kept you on the island hoping you’d eventually give up on him yourself, but you’re too stubborn. So, I decided to bring you here to see his true colors."
The man’s voice was deep and melodic, but right now, all Vivian could hear was a buzzing in her head.
"Impossible!" Vivian cried, covering her ears in anguish as tears streamed down her face. "I don’t believe it! I absolutely don’t believe it!"
’She had thought about how things would end between her and Austin. She wasn’t a liar; she was going to tell him the truth about what had happened with the stranger.’
’If he accepted it, she would spend the rest of her life loving him. If he didn’t, she wouldn’t force him.’
’But she had never, ever imagined that he would betray her—that he would be kissing another woman while she was missing!’
Jett Sterling firmly pulled her hands away. He pressed his lips to her ear and said, enunciating each word, "Vivian Quinn, seeing is believing."
Grief and indignation overwhelmed her. Vivian threw herself at the door, her emotions spiraling out of control. "Let me out! I have to go ask him what’s going on!"
"Vivian Quinn, calm down!" Jett Sterling gripped her by the shoulders. "Is a man like that really worth your tears?"
"Stay out of this!"
Jett Sterling’s eyes darkened. He grabbed her face, turned it toward him, and brought his lips down on hers.
"Mmph—" Vivian’s eyes flew open. She felt him stealing her breath away, little by little.
’She had never kissed a man before. Even with Austin, they had only ever held hands.’
’This man was stealing all of her firsts!’
’Her fiancé was outside, kissing Rachel Quinn, while she was in here, kissing a stranger. How utterly ridiculous!’
Vivian’s tears flowed faster. She bit down hard, and the coppery taste of blood filled both their mouths.
The man grunted in pain, but instead of pulling away, he clamped a hand on the back of her head and deepened the kiss with even more force.
Vivian could feel his dominance, his obstinance. The difference in strength between them was too great; she couldn’t break free from his embrace and could only endure his kiss.
The car quickly started moving again. Out of the corner of her eye, Vivian could still faintly see the two figures pressed against the sports car, locked in their embrace.
Tears blurred her vision. As the kissing figures grew smaller and smaller in the distance, her heart felt as if it were being ripped to shreds by two large, icy hands, the pain so intense it nearly suffocated her...
...
Vivian Quinn locked herself in her room, refusing to eat or drink. When she was awake, she stared blankly into space. When she was tired, she would drift into a dazed, restless sleep.
It wasn’t until the evening of the next day that the door was pushed open. A maid set down a tray and left just as quickly.
Jett Sterling came to the side of the bed. "Vivian Quinn," he said in a low voice, "get up and eat."
The girl on the bed remained motionless.
"I know you’re awake. Get up and eat, or I won’t mind feeding you mouth-to-mouth."
Vivian Quinn shot up in bed. "Are you out of your mind? Can you just leave me alone!"
"I’ve left you alone for almost a full day and night. Get up and eat."
"I’m not eating!"
"Go ahead and starve yourself to death. It’ll just make it easier for Austin and Rachel to be together. They won’t even have to bother with a funeral. You’d be doing them a favor."
Vivian froze. A moment later, she threw back the covers, got out of bed, sat down at the table, and began to devour the food.
’I can’t die,’ she thought. ’And if I do, I’m taking the ones who betrayed me down with me!’
Seeing that she was finally eating, Jett Sterling let out a silent sigh of relief. "Slow down," he said. "No one’s going to take it from you."
Silent tears streamed down Vivian’s face as she ate. "Can you let me go now?"
"You’re not in a stable state of mind. If I let you go now, you’ll just get into trouble."
Vivian didn’t become hysterical. She just fell silent. After a long while, she finally spoke. "Do you have any alcohol? I want to drink my sorrows away."
"Finish your food first. Drinking on an empty stomach isn’t good for you."
After Vivian finished her meal, Jett Sterling led her downstairs to a wine cellar that spanned several hundred square meters.
Vivian didn’t know the first thing about wine. She grabbed a random bottle of red, opened it, and sat down on the rug in front of the sofa to drink.
"That’s not how you drink red wine." Jett Sterling selected a bottle and poured it into a decanter.
"I’m here to get drunk, not to do a wine tasting."
Vivian’s heart ached. All she wanted was to get completely drunk.
Jett Sterling picked up a wine glass and held it out. "Pour me a glass?"
Vivian Quinn generously poured him a glass.
Jett Sterling took a small sip of the red wine. It was, indeed, quite good.
After finishing a bottle, Vivian’s eyes grew hazy. "I want more!"
Jett Sterling held out his glass.
"I want to drink straight from the bottle!"
"You’ll get drunk fast if you chug it like that."
"I can hold my liquor! I could drink a thousand glasses and not get drunk!" Vivian proclaimed, patting her chest boldly.
Jett Sterling had no choice but to get her another bottle of red wine.
Vivian grabbed the bottle and chugged half of it down. She let out a small, drunken hiccup, her voice thick with unshed tears. "Today was supposed to be my engagement party. I’ve been looking forward to it for so, so long."
"You and Austin are in the past now. If you want, I can give you the grandest wedding imaginable."
Vivian looked up, blinking as she carefully studied his handsome face. "You’re really good-looking," she slurred. "You have the potential to be a great toyboy."
Jett Sterling: "..."
The girl sighed. "It’s a shame, though. The more perfect a man seems, the more likely he is to be a scumbag. Like Austin."
Jett Sterling: "..."
He said patiently, "I’m not like Austin."
As if she hadn’t heard him, Vivian continued talking to herself. "How about this? When I make a lot of money, I’ll keep you as my sugar baby. That would really piss Austin off, wouldn’t it?"
The man’s expression turned so dark it looked like storm clouds had gathered on his face. He raised a hand, cupped her face, and leaned in to kiss her...
