Wealthy Beauty in the 60s-Chapter 668 - 670 Grandpa, Please Don’t Get Sick
Xia Xiao admired Madam Si now, which was a pity that Madam Si hadn’t realized things sooner. Although realizing now was good, she was already over seventy, and with old age, her mobility was not as convenient as before.
"I’m planning to join a tour group, do you want to come along?" Madam Si asked Xia Xiao.
Xia Xiao shook her head, "I still have things to take care of. Why don’t you ask Ning Hui?"
"Ning Hui definitely won’t have time either," Madam Si chuckled. "Both of you are busy people, I really envy you."
"We don’t know how to enjoy ourselves, we haven’t gone out to have fun properly," Xia Xiao patted Madam Si’s hand. "But you should still let your family know if you’re going out to travel."
"They would know even if I don’t tell them, they all arrange for people to watch over me. But still, I should inform my son," nodded Madam Si.
With that said, Xia Xiao felt relieved.
"What is this?" Madam Si asked, looking at Xia Xiao’s computer.
"QQ," Xia Xiao explained the chat tool to Madam Si and then opened another app, saying:
"This is Weibo, would you like to try it? You can record some events, share some of your thoughts, or even post pictures from your travels. It’s similar to the ’Spaces’ in QQ."
"Do you and Ning Hui use it too?" asked Madam Si.
Xia Xiao nodded and showed Madam Si her QQ Spaces and Weibo, prompting Madam Si to express interest, "Then I want to try it too, and I’ll add you guys as friends."
She then pointed at a game app for stealing crops on QQ, "I like this one. I’ve seen my grandson play this, I want to add him as a friend as well."
With Xia Xiao’s help, Madam Si got a new smartphone, registered QQ and Weibo, and added Xia Xiao, Ning Hui, and her grandson as friends.
Xia Xiao and Ning Hui also pulled Madam Si into a chat group. Although Madam Si was slow at typing, even though she knew Pinyin, she was very interested and wouldn’t put her phone down.
Before going on her travels, Madam Si finally went back home. As soon as Mr. Si saw that Madam Si had come back voluntarily, he was sarcastic, still expecting Madam Si to care for him as before.
But Madam Si did what she wanted, treating Mr. Si like he was air, or else she would just play with her phone.
Unable to hold back, Mr. Si burst out, "Old lady, have you had enough?"
Madam Si calmly looked at Mr. Si. "Old man, calm down a bit. I’m done arguing with you. Isn’t this fine? We’re both old already. I’ve thought about the past, and I really shouldn’t have quarreled with you."
With these words from Madam Si, Mr. Si nodded. That was more like it.
Although in the past when Madam Si got angry and yelled at him, Mr. Si often compromised, but that was because he felt he should give in rather than because Madam Si was being unreasonable.
Now that Madam Si had softened, Mr. Si’s mood cleared up, and he was in good spirits as he dined with Madam Si and hovered around her.
Madam Si ignored him further, tidied up the room a bit, and then went to sleep.
"You must be tired after being out for so many days, have a good sleep," Mr. Si said.
But Mr. Si woke up the next morning only to find that Madam Si was gone, having heard that she had joined a tour group, which infuriated him.
Once the old lady got out, her heart turned wild, thinking she had changed, but shockingly, she left for a trip without a word.
When Hexuan came back and saw Mr. Si in a rage, he said, "Grandpa, don’t upset yourself too much, take care."
"Useless grandchild, daring to come back," Mr. Si threw something at him, truly furious at his grandson.
He just felt that this whole mess was caused by his grandson, who was also the root of it all.
"Grandpa, I’m just worried about you, you’re always as fiery as a dragon, it could hurt your health," Hexuan dodged then spoke to Mr. Si.
"It’s all because of you!" Mr. Si gritted his teeth at his grandson.
"If grandpa doesn’t like to see me, then I’ll leave," Hexuan immediately wanted to leave.
Mr. Si said, "Your grandma went on a trip, why didn’t you talk her out of it?"
"My grandma going on a trip is a good thing. If I didn’t have school, I would have gone with her. I’ll see if she wants to go during the winter or summer break, and I’ll go with her."
As soon as Hexuan said this, Mr. Si’s eyes widened; his grandson was definitely there to torment him.
"Get lost, I don’t want to see you right now." Mr. Si felt that if he stayed with his grandson any longer, he would be driven crazy.
"Then I’m leaving, Grandpa, take care of yourself, and please don’t fall ill, otherwise Grandma will definitely think you’re faking," Hexuan impertinently said.
Sure enough, Mr. Si bellowed, "Get out!"
Hexuan didn’t stay any longer, shrugging his shoulders as he left.
Mr. Si then calmed down and carefully pondered Madam Si’s words, feeling that there was an underlying message that made him uncomfortable.
However, the next day, Mr. Si actually fell ill. He woke up feeling light-headed and groggy, with a heavy nasal voice.
Thinking of his grandson’s words, he was too choked up to say anything and didn’t seek medical treatment or take any medicine.
On the third day, the security personnel discovered his condition and made calls to Mr. Si’s son and Madam Si. Madam Si then called her grandson. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
"Grandpa is sick?" Hexuan was very skeptical. "No way, I just saw him yesterday and he was fine."
At this point, Hexuan added, "Grandma, you just enjoy your trip. I’ll go back and check on Grandpa."
Hexuan hadn’t thought that Grandpa was genuinely ill; he always remembered him as being robust, except for once faking illness to pacify Grandma.
"Grandpa, are you really sick?"
Once Hexuan said this, Mr. Si became furious. This grandson was really infuriating.
Mr. Si now wanted nothing to do with Hexuan, treating him like he was invisible and turning his face away.
Hexuan didn’t leave, though. He sat down on a chair next to him and started playing on his phone. He logged into Grandma’s QQ space and saw the photos she posted.
Mr. Si, seeing his grandson hadn’t said anything, turned his head and caught a clear glimpse of the photo on Hexuan’s phone. He was shocked. "Isn’t that Grandma? When was this taken? How come I didn’t know?"
"Why do you have your grandma’s photo?" Mr. Si asked.
"She sent it to me," Hexuan said proudly.
Mr. Si glared, "Let me see."
After a moment’s thought, Hexuan handed over the phone. Mr. Si opened it and saw Madam Si’s bright and cheerful smile beaming back at him. Mr. Si’s expression changed; it seemed that Madam Si was indeed having the time of her life on her trip.
