Water Mage in the Flame Realm-Chapter 383 - 371: Identity Exposed
"I have to do something."
Andrew looked at the extremely brutal battle in front of him, knowing this was the most critical moment, "If we continue fighting like this, we’ll lose! But on the other hand, if we can find a way to win this time, then at least I’ve completed half of the mission assigned to me by Guild Leader Beiru!"
Guild Leader Beiru sent me to this Outer Battlefield, one to meet up with the Water Mages, and two to find a way to bring people back to the Flame Realm.
If we win this battle, the "meeting up" part can be considered basically accomplished!
Suddenly, something bumped against his foot.
Andrew looked down and saw the water around him had somehow turned red with blood.
Amidst the blood-stained water, a corpse drifted in front of him and bumped against his foot.
It was the corpse of a Flame Warrior, his torso was completely shattered, limbs were also broken, but his face was almost intact, staring at him with wide eyes. There was a severed hand—a Water Mage’s hand—tightly gripping his throat on his neck.
Andrew: "..."
Under the protection of the Water Spirit Technique, his heart remained unperturbed.
Yet, his stomach started to spasm slightly, a strong nausea welled up.
Strictly speaking, this was Andrew’s first real battle on the front line.
During the first Double Fire War, Andrew was in the Wildfire Territory, fighting merely the Desolate Beasts driven by Rose, which didn’t count as a true frontline.
Later, on the way to the Royal Court, he encountered the Female Assassin and further negotiations at the Royal Court, Andrew had accumulated quite a lot of "combat experience," but the "war"—the brutal extent of war he saw now—was a first for Andrew.
Andrew forced down the urge to vomit, yet his palms couldn’t help but sweat.
The sweat evaporated into a white mist due to the heat from his palms.
The fog grew thicker, starting from Andrew, suddenly the water surface around him began to evaporate a mist like a hot spring in winter, spreading rapidly across the battlefield under Andrew’s deliberate control.
Despite the physical discomfort, Andrew was incredibly stable when casting spells.
Especially, although the Flame Warrior’s corpse was disgusting, the sight of an unknown Water Mage’s severed hand tightly grasping the Flame Warrior’s neck gave Andrew a mix of sadness and anger, which eventually transformed into a deep impulse—
War inevitably means death.
But at the very least, one should try to minimize the damage on our side, as much as possible, just a little bit less!
"What... what is this?"
"Fog? Never seen this kind of Water Magic?"
The Flame Warriors had already divided the battle into three main factions, fiercely fighting with the Water Mages and were on the verge of reclaiming control.
However, the water mist driven by Andrew quietly covered the entire battleground. These seemingly weightless mist upon contact with the Flame Warriors’ bodies suddenly became as heavy as a thousand pounds, making every move of the Flame Warriors encounter immense resistance of water!
"This magic... whose is it? Find them! Quick!" More than one Flame Warrior expert immediately began scanning and searching.
However, first, the fog affected the view, obstructing vision.
Secondly, the Flame Warriors probably never imagined that while they were dealing with the fierce assault of the Water Mages on the front, behind them, within their stronghold, the female Warrior Chief unexpectedly fell at the hands of Andrew and Pasha.
They completely neglected Andrew’s side for an instant!
Thus, Andrew had ample casting time, turning this mist-filled water surface into a..."home turf" for the Water Mages!
Yes, a home turf.
The fog not only severely hindered the Flame Warriors’ movements but also disturbed their minds.
The mist also had an effect on the Water Mages.
Each droplet of mist contained a trace of "Enlightenment Magic."
Enlightenment Magic is a very peculiar magic series; the entire series consists of just one magic with no tier, usable once becoming a Water Mage, and even in the Realm of Magic and higher, it remains usable and never outdated.
The essence of "Enlightenment" is to share the "Fire Extinguishing Upgrade Method" with others besides oneself.
It works on the Water Mages, seeming not very impactful but actually instantly granting them the ability to gain a portion of Fire Extinguishing Value for every moment they fight the Flame Warriors.
Thus, the Water Mages were no longer simply expending and taking damage, but somewhat "fighting to sustain the fight"!
This seemed not a huge change, but each Water Mage enhanced by "Enlightenment" a bit and each opponent slowed by the mist a bit.
The accumulation of small changes in each local battle eventually leads to a massive change and impact!
The Flame Warriors engaged in this Outer Battlefield were the strongest Flame Warrior group within the Magic Guild. They were well-trained, fiercely combative, managed to withstand the bad situation of being surrounded unexpectedly, and were trying to reverse the situation.
But this time, they couldn’t hold up any longer.
The scale of victory which had slightly tilted toward the Flame Warriors finally once again, slowly but surely, tilted toward our side!
Seeing that just a little more force could completely turn the tide and secure victory.
A faint sound of water breaking was heard, so subtle amidst the thunderous war sounds on the chaotic battlefield.
Andrew suddenly felt his heart being tightly grasped by an invisible hand.
The surface of the water broke open in the distance, and a figure leapt out.
It was a Flame Warrior, and an absolute expert at that.
He found the source of the "Mist Domain" right here with Andrew.
"So this damn mist is your doing, kid?"
The Flame Warrior glared at Andrew, who was staggering due to severe magic power exhaustion, with a look of anger and a hint of subtle confusion. He gritted his teeth and said, "Where is the Warrior Chief? Aren’t you being controlled by her? What... what have you done to her?!"
He finally discovered that the female Warrior Chief who was supposed to suppress Andrew was gone, and Andrew, who should have been under control, was secretly using magic from behind to influence the outcome of the battle!
Even as he spoke, he didn’t stop moving and instantly shifted sideways to Andrew’s side.
But Andrew had already used up all his strength in killing the female Warrior Chief and constructing the mist domain.
Now, even standing was difficult, let alone having any strength to resist.
Suddenly, there was a sound of splashing as another part of the water’s surface broke open.
This time, it was Natalie’s sister, Pasha, who burst forth.
Unlike the Flame Warriors, the Water Mages could easily sense that the "Domain" before them was Andrew’s handiwork.
So not only Natalie, but also three skilled Water Mages gathered, and together the four launched different forms of water magic that simultaneously struck the Flame Warrior aiming at Andrew, blasting him into countless pieces of flesh.
Right now, all the Water Mages had one thought: Andrew must not be killed.
As long as Andrew maintained the current mist domain, even if the battle was won slowly, victory was certain!
Natalie didn’t even check on her sister Pasha’s situation but dashed directly towards Andrew: "Andrew, right? Are you okay?"
Andrew faced her head-on without saying a word, and then abruptly pressed her down!
A dark red flying hammer whisked past Natalie’s forehead.
If Andrew hadn’t pushed her down in time, she would be a corpse now.
Out of the mist walked two people.
One of them was holding a warhammer, presumably the one who had just used the flying hammer.
He was a short, stout man, whose presence was not much different from that of the previous female Warrior Chief.
He also carried a person on his back.
It was Liek!
Liek had already been defeated by Andrew earlier and was just regaining consciousness.
His status within the Magic Guild was prestigious, and the short, stout man intended to carry him away while breaking out.
But at this moment, Liek fiercely stared at Andrew, preventing the stout man carrying him from leaving.
Because Liek had heard Natalie address Andrew just now!
Natalie had called Andrew: Andrew.
Instead of the alias Wanda Wise.
"Andrew? She called you Andrew? Aren’t you supposed to be called Wanda Wise?"
Liek gritted his teeth and closely watched Andrew’s face, as though he wanted to etch the face of the one who defeated him into his memory, "So you, in fact, are Andrew? Which Andrew? The one I’ve heard of... that Andrew?! The one who defeated Capella at the Royal Court?!!"
As he spoke, Liek’s voice turned into a hoarse roar: "Weren’t you caught by Queen Catherine of the Royal Court and disappeared with her? Why are you here on the outer battlefield?! Why on earth are you on this outer battlefield??!"
Andrew arrived in this Water God Realm, temporarily disconnecting from the Flame Realm, severing connections with both Barbara in water and fire united, and Ivan through the Soul Whisper Channel.
Thus, Andrew was unaware that in the Flame Realm, the second dual-fire war had already broken out.
Liek knew.
He had lost consciousness after being defeated by Andrew, and upon waking, the latest message and command he received was: "End all battles in the outer battlefield as quickly as possible, and afterwards, everyone return to the Flame Realm to prepare for the second dual-fire war!"
Liek had roughly heard about the situation and knew the outbreak of the second dual-fire war was related to the outcome of the negotiations with the Royal Court.
And the negotiations failing on the side of the Magic Guild had a lot to do with that person named Andrew.
At this moment, Liek looked at Andrew, although he hadn’t received any response or feedback from Andrew, Liek strongly felt: the person before his eyes was indeed the Andrew from the Flame Realm who was currently said to have disappeared with Catherine!
It could only be him!
Otherwise, there was no way to explain why such an unexpected person suddenly appeared on this outer battlefield!
Liek suddenly quieted down, no longer shouting or yelling.
He even ignored the Blood of the Fire God that Andrew had taken away.
He activated the communication device and sent out a message: "The Andrew from the Royal Court negotiation... now in the outer battlefield! Right here with me!!"
