Wasting Money to Become an Immortal-Chapter 462: Bribing the people (4)
After the second restaurant, we went to three more restaurants that were also on this street.
Each time, we did the same thing where I threw enough money to buy out the restaurant to give away food for the rest of the day.
I would have gone to more restaurants, but there weren’t any other restaurants that were left on this business street.
When our group came out of the last restaurant, I could see that there were people that were gathering in this business street. The news that these restaurants were giving out food for free was already spreading through word of mouth.
Things that were free would always spread quickly and the amount of time that we spent in these restaurants wasn’t short.
So it was only natural that there would be many people that arrived in this market street.
Seeing all the people that were coming in and out of the restaurants, I gave a satisfied nod.
However, this was still far from the effect that I wanted to see.
I turned to the kid who was with us and waved my hand at the lackeys. They understood what I wanted and took out a bag that they gave him.
The kid was confused at first, but then there was a shocked look that appeared on his face when he saw that this bag was filled with Spirit Jades.
"Young master, this is...?" The kid asked in an even more confused voice.
"Go and hire some people for me. I need people that can run fast and yell loud. Have them run around in the streets telling everyone that I’ve booked all the restaurants in this street and that they can eat for free today."
The kid was even more confused hearing this, but he didn’t say anything since I already waved my hand to dismiss him.
Since I had done all this, the only thing that the kid could do now was follow this order.
After all, the kid could tell that this young master that hired him was anything but normal.
Someone that can throw out this much money without a single care...
At the same time, the kid could tell that this was the young master’s kindness towards him.
The young master didn’t tell him to hire anyone specific and left it to his discretion. That meant that he was free to hire whoever he wanted to take care of this matter for the young master.
There were plenty of kids that were like him that were wandering around the city.
With this money, he could hire them to do the young master’s bidding and if the young master was satisfied...
So the kid ran off without a single trace of hesitation.
I didn’t care about him as he ran off since he was just someone that I was using to spread the word of this event that I was holding.
Instead, my attention went to the different people that were moving along the street.
With a snap, the lackeys came forward and I said, "Go and listen in on their conversations."
They didn’t need anything other than that since they immediately understood what I meant by this. So they quickly spread themselves out and headed off in different directions so that they blended into the crowd.
They didn’t leave anyone here with me since Mu Bao Bao and Liu Ao Xue were here with me.
I also didn’t remain standing there as I went towards one of the smaller stalls that were out in the street.
There were quite a few of these stalls that came over here to take advantage of this situation and earn some small profit. After all, even if there was plenty of free food to go around, there were limits to what the restaurants would have.
These small stalls were perfect for those that had finished their meals to hang around and relax.
With how many people were around, it was easy for us to sit down at one of the stalls.
It was just that with our appearances, it was hard for us to remain unnoticed.
The easiest way to handle this was to toss a Spirit Jade over to the boss of the stall and say, "Get me some snacks."
The moment that the people around felt the aura that came from the Spirit Jade, they immediately turned back to their own business.
Someone that could throw out a Spirit Jade like this was without a doubt not a normal person. As such, there was no reason for them to provoke this person by trying anything with them.
No one was a fool, they all knew that there had to be a reason why these restaurants were giving out food for free.
As such, they knew that there was something much deeper happening under the surface.
This wasn’t a place for them to cause any troubles. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
All they had to do was enjoy the benefits that came from whoever was doing something here.
With the Spirit Jade, the owner didn’t hesitate to bring out a full set of everything that he was offering. Of course, that didn’t mean that the things that he brought out were actually that good.
I had randomly chosen this stall without actually caring about the quality of the food here.
But since there was a disposal system, it didn’t matter if we could eat it or not.
After all, it would all go into Mu Bao Bao’s stomach even if we didn’t eat it.
Instead of paying attention to the food, I started listening in on the conversations around us.
The best way to get information was naturally to listen to the gossip of the people that lived in this place.
People were naturally curious about things that happened around them and these people were no exception.
As locals, they had a better understanding of the things that happened in this area.
As such, listening to them would give quite the insight depending on how their gossip was interpreted.
