Chapter 334: Sudden zap

This pill cost me ten thousand points alone and was the most expensive one out of all the options the system gave me.

But since it was so popular, there was no doubt that the pill would be the most effective.

Bing Xin was one of my lackeys and since she was one of mine, I wouldn’t skimp on this.

She was one of mine, so I would take care of her properly.

This was the same for any of my lackeys.

I would protect my people.

Once we arrived in the slums, we saw that there was quite the commotion that was there.

There were a bunch of soldiers that were currently in the slums and it seemed like they were holding some people captive.

When the leader of these soldiers saw our carriage approaching, he immediately came over and gave a salute without even saying anything. The carriage stopped and I looked out at him to see what he wanted.

The leader of the group was surprised to see me, or rather it seemed like he was surprised to see how young I was.

However, he quickly recovered and said, "Young Master Lin, we have already captured all of the people sent by the Shan Family."

I wasn’t surprised to hear this since this was one of the things that I had requested from the Roaring Tiger Emperor. We had been busy with crashing the wedding, so we left this simple task to the Roaring Tiger Emperor.

In a sense, it could be considered a test.

If they hadn’t followed orders and had done anything to Bing Xin’s mother, then I would take it out on the Roaring Tiger Empire.

But they had followed the orders, so there was nothing that I needed to do.

I just gave a simple nod before saying, "Take them away and lock them up."

The leader gave a nod before giving orders to his soldiers. Then he turned around as if he wanted to say something, but he found that the carriage was already moving towards the hut.

Seeing this, he just shook his head and went to take care of everything.

Once we arrived, I came out with Bing Xin while everyone else hung back.

They came to the wedding since there was something for them to do, but there was nothing that they could do to help here. They really didn’t know how they could help Bing Xin’s mother.

It was obvious that her mind was broken because of everything that she had been through.

Even if cultivation was powerful, that didn’t mean that one could fix the mind easily. At the very least, they didn’t have the ability to do so, so the only thing that they could do was hope that their young master could do something about this.

As we were stepping out of the carriage, I felt someone tugging at my sleeve.

I turned around to see Lin Li Zi looking at me with a strange look, but I could guess what she was thinking.

Mothers were a sensitive topic for her...

"Don’t worry, I have a way to help her." I said with a confident look on my face before turning to look at Bing Xin with this same look as well.

Bing Xin was surprised, but she gave a firm nod in response.

Lin Li Zi hesitated a bit before letting go of my sleeve and giving a nod as well.

The guards at the door didn’t try to stop us as we headed towards Bing Xin’s home.

When we came in, we found Bing Xin’s mother sitting there in the bed as if she was completely unaware of what had happened outside. She just kept staring off into space and muttering something.

From time to time, she would scratch her arms.

Bing Xin revealed a pained look when she saw this and then she looked at me with an awkward look.

It was as if she was embarrassed of her mother being seen by me when she was in this condition.

I just patted her on the shoulder and gave her a nod before saying, "It’ll be fine."

Without waiting for a response from Bing Xin, I walked forward to the side of her mother’s bed.

Bing Xin’s mother didn’t seem to react at all when she heard the sounds of me approaching. It was only when I was right by her bed that she slowly looked up, but she didn’t seem to see me at all.

The first thing that her eyes turned to was Bing Xin who was standing on the side.

When she saw Bing Xin, her eyes immediately narrowed as she said, "What are you doing here? I told you to go to the Shan Family Manor!"

She went to grab something as if she wanted to throw it at Bing Xin, but I grabbed her arm.

When she felt me grab her arm, she looked up at me with a surprised look before saying, "Who are you? Why are you close to my daughter? She’s supposed to be getting married soon! Someone like you shouldn’t be hanging around my daughter!"

The more she spoke, the more hysterical she became.

Her voice became louder and louder until she was screaming at me.

At this rate, it seemed like she was about to lose control of herself again.

I just shook my head and then suddenly raised my hand in front of her face.

Bing Xin’s mother said, "What are you..."

She didn’t have time to say the rest as a zapping sound rang out.

Her body went lax as if it had become numb and she slumped back into the bed.

Even her speech was slurred as she said, "What did you do to me?"

I didn’t answer as I pulled my hand back and went to reach for something.

Bing Xin looked at me with a strange look, but she didn’t say anything since she knew that this was necessary.

After pulling out the Clear Spring Pill, I popped it into Bing Xin’s mother’s mouth without hesitation.

"What did you feed..." She didn’t get to finish as she suddenly stopped talking.
